Strategy to promote Clickbank Products without E-Mail List

Hey folks,

I have some experience with Affiliate marketing but mainly with creating a niche/review site and promote products on Amazon.

Since I never tried to promote digital products I want to give it a shot.

I've already read some articles regarding this subject but I couldn't find a good answer yet.

My question are:
1.) What is a proven strategy to convert cold traffic for CB offers? I know that driving traffic directly to the offer does not convert well. But how should I structure my sales process? Is it enough to have an article (where I send my cold traffic to) that gives valuable information and at the end I link to the offer. Or is it necessary to get them into an E-mail Funnel with several useful content before I try to sell?

2.) Since I don't have a list. Are FB ads a viable way to drive traffic or should I focus on solo ads/google ads?

There aren't any. I wouldn't waste my time even trying this.

Focus on setting up a selling system (whether funnel or otherwise) and be sure to start an email list of subscribers in the niche. You're trying to build an audience that trusts you and looks for your guidance.

The source of traffic for your niche shouldn't be limited to just FB ads or solo ads or Google ads. Consider every and all sources of traffic that will be targeted to your niche regardless of the venue (referring source).

The source of the traffic isn't as important, IMO, as how targeted and fresh that traffic is. Look for consumers ready to buy exactly what you are promoting.

    Good luck,

A successful blogger on WF has abandoned list building and is doing great.

Maybe he will offer some insights in this thread.

But generally, if you're new to your niche and nobody knows who you are (you don't have a solid reputation yet), then start building your email list by offering a lead magnet up front, and then promote on the back end.

To be fair, email is just one way to build an audience - it happens to be one of the best because you get complete control over it.

You could build an audience on social media platforms, but you're at the mercy of their ToS and algorithms.

It's ultimately all about the relationship you have with your audience.

I started promoting CB offers without a list (didn't really know what I was doing) and made around $1,000 a month from it - but I had crazy-good traffic levels (still less than 0.1% conversion rate).

Don't do it the way I did, listen when people say build an email list.

If you are going the list building route, you need to provide amazing value to your list and put yourself in a position where they always want to listen to your advice and recommendations.

Google Ads are the best if you know how to use them well..

Also, Facebook gives you good targeting. Another great option to try..

Alternatively you can try putting up some ads on your blog.. Solo ads and ad swaps are also good options..

What you are suggesting in the first part of your post is doing things the hard way...

And you are doing all of the manual labor to build someone else's business.

Why do you think Product owners give such 75-100% commissions on their products?

It is because it is all about getting the customer, not the sale. And smart business owners know this. They can care less if you spent more money than you made or if you spent all week trying to rank videos. They get the customer and can mail to them again and again.

So what I suggest doing is learning how to create a good funnel...then worry about driving traffic to it. If you don't have a good funnel in place then all of the traffic you send is going to go to waste.

So a good funnel could be as simple as selling a $20 product and giving away a high commission percentage with a high quality email follow up sequence promoting a complimentary product.

Or, you could send FB traffic to a high quality free report and have a good email sequence set to go out.

You can always ad upsells later. But start building your list yesterday.

In closing, Do what the Guru's do...not what they say they do.

They certainly don't direct link to someone else's business. That would be like if you own a restaurant and someone comes in and enjoys a meal and you tell them to go to your competitor down the street...and to never come back.

    I hope this helps

    -Mark

List building is one of the core activities of the whole IM game. Sure you may be able to make money without a list on CB, but you'd be literally leaving thousands on the table. Building a list lets you make money over and over again and is a true asset that you could potentially sell in the future. Plus list building helps you get more from the traffic, especially when paying for it. A mediocre squeeze page will convert at 20-40%, while trying to use a presell article will probably convert at 1% or less.

Back in the day I purchased Affilorama's Affilojetpack which was all about building blogs to a specific Clickbank niche. They gave you banners, content, email sequence, the lot. You could even host with them.

It was a complete waste of time even back then because I wasn't interested in Green Energy or Learning to sing or Dog training, so I had no enthusiasm to be creative or write articles or anything.

So if I was you, only promote a CB product if you are fanatical about it.

Nothing like a good old, self-hosted, content-rich WP blog to turn cold leads quite warm. Best approach if you are not building an email list. Simple way to prove you know your niche and to sell virtually any affiliate product too. Rocking platform.

Google and Facebook are pretty strict on ads when it comes to promoting Clickbank Products. Personally, I like using Bing Ads, plus they are much cheaper than Google and have the same high-quality traffic (just a fewer people than Google obviously).

Native Ads are another great option but can be a bit pricey!

Question: How to promote ClickBank products without an email list...

Answer: Build an email marketing funnel and promote it with paid advertising. (You can also promote it with content marketing, which also implies that you must be passionate about your niche. All of these ideas were mentioned by other posters in this thread, and I agree).

Try your best to monetize your funnel in way, so that your advertising (eventually, and hopefully) pays for itself.

You can try to accomplish that by promoting the ClickBank offers in your front end funnel, and of course, through an engaging email followup sequence.

    Easier said than done, right?

I've heard of some people having success direct linking to certain Clickbank offers via Bing ads.

"Clickbank offers" is not a market or a niche.

No one can give you any realistic advice without knowing the specific niche.

If you drive cold traffic to an offer landing page few will ever buy on the first visit and unless you are retargeting that traffic is lost.

You will do much better, in the long run, driving traffic to a squeeze page and collecting users emails. That way you can follow up and promote other offers until they unsubscribe or become unresponsive.

You can use other platforms to build an audience, but it won't give you the control that email does.

I've been mailing for over 17 years and nothing beats it.

Do yourself a favor and build a list.

All these replys are very good. One thing I have found as a good strategy source is Pinterest and Instagram. However I would advice you have a good following, but I have personally sold things from Clickbank from these.

It takes time to build these up but once you do, it is all 100% traffic and targeted traffic too. Just remember, if someone says it can't be done, doesn't mean it can't be done. You just have to do something differently. I have proven that with people that told me I couldn't make money from Pinterest and Instagram.

Drive the traffic to video content on a blog

Use the videos to filter your traffic in terms of interest

Those who stick with it till the end are usually ready to convert

I don't recommend this method though... it's too intensive and expensive

I suggest you use a mailing list as your conversion platform
