True, unless they pay me $2,643.57 a day, forget it!

Creating a business, pay into account financial and marketing side of business, which could be systematized in Business Plan (profit, expenses, amortization) and use your (professional in marketing area) marketing knowledge to make your business visible and as a result - profitable. Without visibility you cannot move your website up and make your business successful, can't you?

    Build an email list.

Look into promoting PPL (pay per lead) offers. There is no credit card / payment required for someone to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

The above is how I started 17 years ago and still do the same thing...It Works.

Get your eye OFF the shiny object ball and on to the revenue generation ball.

Instead of the latest "gee whiz, can't miss, must have" marketing tool other marketers push your way, concentrate on figuring out how you are going to generate traffic and achieve conversion of some of that traffic into buyers. Point being to have something repeatable that you can control, instead of somebody else's idea at the core of your business. Somebody else can disappear, stop working, or never work in the first place.

You want a business that's run by a system that you know well...that when you put your foot on the gas, you know what will happen.

Set a goal. Take consistent action. Adjust. Set new goals. Blah Blah Blah.

    Just get in the game.

None of this is rocket science.

There are idiots making hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

P.S. Also - draw as many straight lines to your goals as possible. Most of the time, the reason why folks think things are hard or it has to be slow or whatever, is because they are not drawing a straight line to a goal.

And often, the "idiots" do draw straight lines. So they get there faster, even if they aren't the brightest bulb in the box.

Follow your passion because doing so gives you the energy to learn, fail and succeed over the long haul. If you follow profits or do stuff solely on the needs of others you are afraid, or, enlightened. No enlightened entrepreneurs out there because we seek a worldly life. The Dalai Lama ain't chasing profits LOL. Follow your fun then from there you do the market research and see if you have a match between profits and problem, and you'll persist like hell when paper chasers come and go.

I would say love what you are doing. What evever business you choose to build upon please love it so people around you will feel your passion. If your doing a particular entreprenuership offer just because you see the money in it, most likely you will come across as a scam artist and you will feel bad about yourself eventually.

If you put all of your passion, ideas, and piece together an enterprise you build around something you enjoy... You will be happy, your customers will be happy, and you won't have to worrry about anything negative that may come your way because it won't touch your heart.

The first time you try to do anything their is a learning curve. Most of the time in the beginning you might fail a few times before reaching the end goal. You have this great idea but unfortunately the idea just doesn't pan out for whatever reason. Most likely if you made some mistakes along the way, you can either correct them, or start again not making those same mistakes. Not everyone is going to knock it out the park there first time. Do not be afraid to fail. Just don't turn those failures into a way where you see a golden nugget that scams people or other businesses.

I have failed so many times in my life, including my entrepreneur goals that I almost gave up. I said to myself if I fail again that is it I am done. However there is this inner passion in me to be free. Free from having to worry about a boss controlling my thoughts, telling me what I can and can not do, free from basically thinking the way I want to think and doing a job i do not love. So many times we are trapped to be slaves to make a wage. Not slaves in a nasty controlling way, but just forced to maybe dress a way we don't really want to dress, or say things we do not agree upon. If we don't say or dress that certain way then we will lose income.

So many people like writers, actors, entrepreneurs get to dress and talk the way they want because they have created an income stream that allows them to not hold typical 9-5 jobs. They have enough income to sustain themselves while still being themselves. When you grow up out of the mentality that you have to get a job to live and start thinking to yourself... hey maybe I can be one of those rich people who can dress and talk the way they want. At least I know that is how I thought when I started to look for ways to earn some additional income online. Then I learned how to develop an actual business.

If you could offer a first-time entrepreneur only one piece of advice, what would it be?
The best advice I could give a beginning entrepreneur (or internet marketer) would be to learn the fundamentals of marketing.

To make money you need to sell something. That might be your own product, an affiliate product, or a service.

Once that decision is made, only two things really matter -- traffic and conversions.

You need to get targeted prospects to your page, and then convert them into buyers.

So, if you focus your efforts on: 1) Product, 2) Traffic, and 3) Conversions, you'll be on the right track.

Tip: If you're really clever, you'll choose your product and traffic source simultaneously. They depend on one another, because you can't sell a product if you can't profitably reach your target audience.

Many beginners get distracted by marketing "tricks and tips." And they fail.

Why? Because they're looking at the fine details and ignoring the big picture. In other words, the fundamentals.

Think of virtually every post-game interview you've ever seen with a losing football coach. They almost always talk about how the team needs to get back to basics and focus on the fundamentals.

The same is true of most endeavors.

Read books on your niche. If you read an hour a day it'll be one book per week and if you read one book per week that is 52 books on one year. Brian Tracy says: There is a 1000% formula on getting successful in 10 years and what this is, is reading books of course! You can search on the web top 10 or 20 books on entrepreneurship and after reading them you can get all the knowledge it takes to be a "STRIKE"! Not only will you develop your brain but also you will get value that will contribute to your life the most.

    Lots of thoughts here.

As some have already mentioned, there is an enthusiasm and an energy that is created when you get into Internet Marketing and when you start fantasizing about the potential results, and then there is the harsh reality that hits home when you finally discover (after having spent hundreds, if not thousands on SOS products) that there is NO MAGIC PUSH BUTTON formula to making money online.

So, rather than looking for the NEXT BEST COURSE, I would start by asking a few questions:

    1. What is the Market asking for?
    2. How is the market asking that this product or service be delivered?
    3. What skill do I have that is of value in this particular area of demand
4 If I don't have that skill, what am I willing to invest in and learn in order to be a unique provider of the requested solution
    5. What is my estimated budget to research, learn and come up with a strategy/business plan (starting a business online is not lottery. There is a science to it.)
    6. How many hours am I committed to spending building my business CONSISTENTLY?

The bottom line is that there is more personal development work to be done than you are probably considering right now. The SOS problem is simply because you don't have the confidence or trust yourself enough to believe that you can figure things out.

There is quite a lot to say on the matter, but if I were to give some initial advice, I would start there.

    Hope that helps...

That money to invest in your business is just important a tool, as the tools used to build everything else. Too many people get in this IM world and treat it like it's some type of game. They want to make the magical $10,000 a month and try to find a way to do that by spending $100 bucks. You don't create a foundational structure to any online business unless you have the actual money to do it or are in the position. Money and knowledge, these things are critical.

It's simply a game of math and perception.

If I could offer a first-time entrepreneur only one piece of advice it would be to keep hustling! Often times people get discouraged because they don't see results right away. In the beginning, it is going to be the hardest, and you might want to give up. You just have to keep in mind that it is not going to come easy and hard work is going to pay off. Keep hustling, stay motivated, and push forward!

    My advice would be:

If your soul lies to what you do, then make every effort to achieve the goals.

And if you do not like your work, the soul is not lying, it is better to throw and start something new!

Surround yourself with successful entrepreneurs and use the 80/20 rule. Spend 80% of their money and 20% of other people's money. It must be true.. I read it on the internet.

Good advise except I promote "program your mind how you will be" as it leads to taking action.

I will agree with "be very productive every day."

      To add to that..

      Don't take any wooden nickles!

What that really means is action was taken on your part and you do not want anything of less value.

    1) At SOME point, you'll have nothing else on your mind...and at THAT moment, you'll have won. You'll not give up and you'll make it through

    2) Look at what successful people DO, not what they say they do

Find a good, reputable, successful mentor early on and do what they say until you have enough experience to go it alone. That was instrumental for me - basically model what a marketer who is already making money online is doing.

And take time to educate yourself properly by investing in training in your chosen field. Keep up to date with the changing market trends, don't stand still.
