MOBE: seized by FTC? Diversify Your Assets and a QUESTION

As you may know there are rumors about an investigation towards MOBE by FTC.

In the FTC site there's anything, at this time, but MOBE itself has declared they have being blocked by FTC.

I'm not in Mobe, i was intrigued about it and i was evaluating it. But i did not jump in it (only for a time reason).

However i have one suggestion and one question:

Suggestion: DIVERSIFY your ASSETS. Any company could close or could be closed. No assurance in business.
So it's way better to have more than one company and to sell your products too, where you can have 100% of control...

ONE QUESTION: Do you know other companies that have High Ticket Affiliate products?
I know some of them, but i want to know more.


In any case...post here if for mods are ok, any update about mobe or your experiences/thoughts about it.

    There are numerous MOBE clones, all with the same quasi-legality issues.

    The OP asked about MOBE in a thread yesterday - doesn't have to worry about joining it today. Lucky timing.

    No need to discuss 'experiences' - the actual FTC complaint tells the story pretty well.

    The most honest review of MOBE I've read was from 2015 and titled simply....

    The FTC can also go after every single person that has promoted MOBE. If past FTC history with other MMO schemes repeats itself it is not likely they will go after ALL the promoters but they certainly could. They are smart enough to know that most of the members promoting it were not making any sales anyway. There was probably a small top percentage of people, however, that were making a lot of money. The FTC may target them also and not just the founders.

    It also won't make any difference what kind of "you may not make any money" disclaimer those top earners have on their websites.

    This event has been devastating for so many people who have taken out loans, refinanced, spent their retirement savings... My heart goes out to them all. I lost my initial investment (small) but luckily realized in the beginning the red flags. "Coaches" who were nothing but salespeople, constant upselling, no help with personal branding,etc. When their answer to every question was "How large is your ad budget?", I knew it was time to look elsewhere. I hope the people hurt here don't give up on their dreams and realize that this could be an opportunity to learn and grow and move forward.

    The truth is that in every industry and in every type of business there are people who make money and people who don't

    For example not every ClickBank affiliate makes money but the one who makes, make a tons

    The main error of Matt was leaving the Mobe servers in USA while all other assets of the company were in other countries, in this way he may be legally persecuted by US but the website ecc. would have been much difficult to shout down

      That's something people do when they're trying to break the law.

      They could go after affiliates located in the US and freeze their assets. They could also shut down all US sales by blocking the money transactions that involve any bank/service in the US (Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, every single bank, etc...).

      Good luck hiding in North Korea.

      This is an example of when the "small, petty, negative nellies, wannabes, losers" who questioned or even criticized the "gurus" were absolutely right. There are lots of examples of this that I've seen over the years.

      Sometimes the only real "losers" are those willing to drink the Koolaid.

    So you are saying that you agree to lying, scamming, breaking the law, hiding things so they don't get shut down when they do something illegally, etc? Or did I read what you wrote wrong?

      I'm saying that Matt should have paid more attention to his assets.

      Then if you read the 36 pages of the FTC documents Mobe is not accused to be a Ponzi o Pyramidal Scheme, it's accused to have excessively advertised that making money was easy and that's something that almost every make money online products does

      The difference is that they were selling 15-20-30k products and once people realized that making money online isn't that easy they started to get upset

        According to the FTC's press release...
        The defendants eventually reveal that their "proven system" for making money is for consumers to sell the same memberships to others in the hopes of earning commissions on those sales.
        THAT, by definition, is a pyramid scheme.

          A proper Pyramid Scheme is when the only way to earn money is to introduce new people and there is no real product been sold.

          When you purchased some Mobe Masterclass you receive a box at home with a Video Course and you will attend a Mastermind in various part of the world where you will be taught internet marketing and how to run a business.

          It's true that the fastest way to make money with them was to promote their products and make money as an affiliate but they were selling something.

          Maybe it was only a good cover for the Ponzi, we will only know once the sentence is decided.

        The FTC should have shut MOBE down years ago. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered...he's bacon right about now.

        He screwed people out of millions of dollars with his fairy tales. Then he sued one of his previous employees for opening a similar company, Digital Altitude (Michael Force) for copying his business model. Either extremely cocky or really stupid to drawl attention to yourself when your business model is a pyramid scheme and the FTC is breathing down Force's neck.

      I'm almost 100% certain MOBE will get shut down by the FTC. But I don't think the affilates who made money will be held responsible. Matt Lloyd and the other defendants in the case will end up having to pay some of the money back to their customers if that's the judge's decision. I'm not a lawyer.

      Ryan, you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. That's bad energy! The people that attached to MOBE were scammed and scammers - it has nothing to do with fear. I imagine most of the top earners had no fear - they were quite happy - but still may face the long arm of the law.

      You've recommended others

      As one reaches higher levels in MOBE or within any venture, doing things mainly from a space of fun and love helps you move higher up the scale, into more prospering and profitable circles.
      So, it was good then? That was integrity then but not now that they've been busted?

      Here you seem to suggest a way to get people to trust what you are selling no matter how crooked it is:
      I was thinking the same thing Robert; my thing is, you can have success with any program but take the energy away from the program, and focus it on yourself, and how you can help readers. John Chow does this well with MOBE. He is the brand; he gains trust, so anything he sells is trusted, and purchased by his loyal followers.
      John Chow is a good guy to follow? I wonder how much of all that good guy income he got from scamming folks with MOBE and how many of his followers were hurt badly?
      Making friends with leaders in your niche and patiently learning how to create good, relevant, helpful content will make you stand out so you can successfully sell your MOBE product,

      The secret is in the offering of value. People will buy in to your blog if you over deliver. Practice writing each day to build up a large content base for your readers to soak up.

      Find a leader in your niche. John Chow is a good guy to follow, as is Pat Flynn. Yaro Starok is another pro. Take notes from these pros, put them into action, and treat this like a business....you'll do so much better sales wise when you genuinely want to help others, and when you promote pro bloggers, and create value through your posts.
      I know you mean well and want to help people. But playing both teams isn't the way to do it. It makes you look like the scammers you promote and taints everything you write, no matter how prolific you are, with question marks.

    I had thought of signing up with MOBE couple of years back, but then I realized their core model was nothing but a pyramid scheme. Luring other people to shell out thousands of dollars - to get the opportunity of selling the same crap to others.

    This is in no way an ethical business, and I lost respect for John Chow when I saw him promoting MOBE.

    MOBE got hit by the FTC because their ad copy was misleading.

    It targeted the people who want to make lots of money quick and easy (the great majority of people online).

    It doesn't matter how many times you tell people that online success is a process that takes a lot of time, effort and perseverance.

    97% of the people still want quick and easy.

    After striking out with deals like MOBE, many come here to good ole Warrior Forum (with the same mindset) and can't even figure out how to market a $7 Clickbank product.

    According to Wikipedia the definition of a pyramid scheme "is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products or services".
    I don't have any experience with MOBE, but I hear that they provide internet marketing courses, albeit with the underlying intention of getting recruits to promote MOBE.
    I may be wrong, but I am presuming that within these courses you learn marketing methods like FB advertising or blog creation.
    If so, one man's pyramid, flipped over, is another man's sales funnel, and the lawyers from both sides should have their work cut out for them.

      That's how pyramid schemes work in modern days.

      These companies aren't stupid. They know pyramid schemes are illegal, so they offer some kind of token product/service as a front. Where the real money is made though, and where their marketing efforts are mostly focused, is in the recruitment of paid members.

      Thankfully most people aren't so easily fooled, and neither is the FTC.

    i never liked them, but that does not mean they will die .....it sounds like they could be a sinking ship after I know there was some complaints.

    This is key why as an entrepreneur I have about 5 avenues of income streams.

    And just so you know millionaires usually have an average of about 3 income streams.

    I am also in crypto too. But marketing is my bread and butter, and there are still lots of good programs out there. So there are more than 1 way to skin a cat.

    I think their ad copy was always misleading, but im guessing they will fix it and keep going.

    FTC, and SEC coming after all these companies and hyip programs like BITCONNECT, and they are going to get even more feirce in 2019...so have a plan and then work that plan.

    And as a business owner always astute not to put all your eggs in the one BASKET!

    Honestly, I'm kind of shocked this didn't happen earlier.

    I looked into them after I saw a few affiliates and bloggers promoting them hard. But the more I saw, the more it just looked like an MLM company, build on hopes and dreams. I personally didn't see them offering any value and just taking money to allow you to try to make money with them. (but that's just me)
