My Work Has Been Plagerized

Title says it all. I wrote an article on "Mafia Wars Tips"....not that title, but that's the category. I was searching through competitors of similar keywords and found a Squidoo page. On there I read my tips published in my ezine article word for word, taken exactly from my article.

Is there anything I can do? If it weren't a high ranking squidoo page, I really wouldn't care. But the fact that he's number one for one of the most searched mafia wars terms, and my content is on his page without giving references to me does not make me a happy camper.

This person is just copying information from EZA articles and pasting it on his lens. And yeah, he's number one on Google for one of the top 3 mafia wars keywords.

Contact the person, though most likely he won't answer. If he doesn't contact Squidoo and as long as you can prove that you created the content they will probably act.

Squidoo hates spam etc. so I think if you mailed support with the address of that lense and the address of your EZA article they will probably take it down.

Alright, I sent in an email with both links and the copied content. It's just sooo frustrating knowing that 4 out of his 9 tips are mine, and his site is getting a few hundred views per day.

    Welcome to the club,

some people are straight out thieving and are try to pass off the content as their own.

Someone that stole my entire article 100% right down to the title happened to be on a blog about homeowner insurance so I decided to make a nice little post calling them out on it.

Yes it is frustrating but they need to know you're on to them. They can't just steal and not give credit for it, it's outright theft.

It is the way of the internet I am afraid. My work has been stolon, spun and repackaged many times. I find the best way to keep ahead of the so and so's is to always think up new and unusual titles and terms for your products.

"Mafia Wars Tips" is generic, and anybody could create a product with tips like that...

"Don Burtagilio's Guide To Total Mafia War Domination" Not only pulls attention well, but brands you a bit and MOST IMPORTANT, if you load up your text with "branded" content, it takes EFFORT for the thief to rewrite.

Remember...These low lifes are LAZY! If it's any work to rip you off, they will just go copy and paste the next page on their list!

The category was "Mafia Wars Tips", but the title was much different and hyped up. The actual content of the article was stolen, which was 4 tips, 216 words in total.

If he has your resource box on there you can't do anything. If he doesn't then squidoo will take it down. I searched for it, but couldn't find the lens.

The lens has been locked from view now. Sweet revenge on the thief! My resource box wasn't there, and that's why I was angry. If it was, then I'd be more than happy.

Good. That's what they get for stealing. That's just wrong. That's all some folks do all day long is copy and paste other folks work and make bank. Glad you pursued it and got justice. I hope they cancel the whole account for that.

Report the thief to Squidoo that is the best you could do.

I had a whole tutorial which I had on a paid internet marketer platform and which I found on Associated content...just like yours... word for word. This was actually found by a fellow affiliate who had her own work stolen as well and recognized mine. She reported the delinquent and they deleted him.

I have a bunch of articles at EZA in a niche making me $200+ per day. All have been copied to various article directories and websites without any credit links to me. There's also people basically rewriting my articles and submitting them at ezinearticles, all get accepted despite the fact they are virtually the same as mine, just rewritten.

At first I was fuming but it would just take WAY too long to even bother taking action against them. The copycats will always be a step behind, thats how I see it.

Yea, the lens that copied my work just reworded a few sentences. Still my info, but the lens is back up...... It's not word for word now though, so I can't exactly call it plagiarism any more.

Eric Lorence, my message to Burtgummer was not spam. I gave my opinion of what I would do if I was in his situation. If I taken the time to make something I believed would help me and someone had basiclly stole it from me. I don't have a thousand post in this forum, so I'm not an old school IM so I think I may have a better understanding of what he is feeling trying to start out in this business. I did not know you had to write your opinion a certain way in order for it to be given value.

You don't but you did post a dumb one line post after he said that he had contacted Squidoo and it had been taken down. So obviously you didn't even bother to read the thread first.
