Simple text over voice sales video

I used to see those sales videos using a simple white (or any other color) background with text in the middle + the voice over. The text is basically the exact written version of the voice over.

Do people still use these type of videos? Are they effective?

Yes of course, they are used all the time.

IMO, they are usually an insult to the prospect's intelligence. Do your prospects really need to have a video read to them? BORING!

Yes, I totally agree with you. That's why I was wondering if people still use them.

I wouldn't use it, but I was playing around with some code for a project that involved creating a video object programmatically; then I realized how easy it would be for me to create a simple text with video software like this.

That's why I was wondering if there is still a market for this type of software. Sounds like there is.

Yeah, i never see high level professional videos using these. It is insulting and distracting - in an infomercial, the visuals should be able to speak for themselves without complicating them with additional subtitle text.

Still very popular and the software to produce quality videos is getting cheaper and easier to use for newbies. Video viewing online is growing in numbers every year in the USA. We're the original TV Society.

Some marketers swear by them. I swear whenever I encounter one.

I know how to read, thank you!

I am trying to find a site where they're selling this type of software, but I only seem to find the more sophisticated sales video creator tools. Are these simple ones still being sold anywhere?

Many of the "sales video creator applications" can produce the simple videos that you describe. There are many to choose from, based upon your budget.

So - what is your budget?

What type of a video does not matter. What matters is the content.

Content is the king when it comes to video.

Within the first 30 seconds most of the audience will click away. But there are videos that people will watch till the end.

This completely depends on the content.

What is your hook in the beginning of the video? That will be responsible for people to stay longer than 30 secs.

Once they stay longer than 30 sec. Is there any benefit for them to keep watching the video? Like if your hook is powerful but there is no benefit for the person watching then that person is going to click away.

Once they stay longer than the benefits. Is this video going to entertain them or solve their problem or give them answers they are looking for? Like the hook and the benefits every sentence in the video. Every pause. Every little detail in the video will make the person go away. So the is the content juicy enough for people to stay longer.

That is the reason that videos that entertainment videos have a good retention rate. Because entertainment videos are crafted with certain theme and message. They have all the three things in play. Even a song and a dance video.

It is only difficult with marketing videos to keep people hooked. Think how we change channels during ads on tv. If you watch the ad they have really message but we know it is marketing. We skip away looking.

Even on TV they have started blending entertainment with marketing. Till the middle of the Ad you will not come to know whether this Ad is entertainment or marketing. Only you will see something at the very end.

So don't fret over the way your video is made.

The text type video can be very effective. If you are able to keep people on the video and make them watch it till the end. You Hook, Benefits and Content has to be strong.

Hope this is useful for you.

    Stay focused, Stay Rich.

Most of the videos I've seen that use this method are using text-to-speech software and simply doing a screen capture. Extremely lazy, annoying as heck, and hard to imagine being effective.

Amit Patel mentioned keeping peoples' attention. Since most people read much quicker than a narrator can speak, by the time the spoken part is complete, the viewer's mind has read the text and wandered off.

There are thousands, likely millions of these low-rent "turn your article into a video with the click of a button" videos clogging YouTube.

For the singular reason that the perpetrators of this intellectual abuse read somewhere that this type of video is highly impactful on the brain's retention abilities.

The End of America VSL was a $ 100 million +.

There were at least a dozen CB vendors that did $ 1 million + off of em.

And there are companies in the insurance, financial, and legal verticals that have used PowerPoint video as commercials on cable and ran them long enough that they were most likely profitable ...

Considering they were direct response commercials being tracked.

And they were running at high enough volume they most likely were 8 figure or better.

So we have real-world 7, 8, and 9 figure examples of em working.

Also - I'll gladly admit that I watch too much YouTube. And I never come across "articles to video" stuff like that in 2018.

        I did in 2009.

        But today?

What clogs up YouTube are Reaction Videos, Song Lyric Videos, Challenge Videos, YouTube "celebrity" videos, Top-10 list videos, Click Bait videos, etc.

I swear sometimes coming to WaFo is like a time-warp to about 10 years ago.

P.S. All anyone needs is Power Point. Or the Open Office (free) version. Well, that and a damn good script and narration.

There's a difference between using PowerPoint as the basis for presenting a voice-over video, and simply putting the text on a slide and reading it.

The human mind processes text faster than people can speak, so I find that I read the text in a few moments, and then have to wait for the narrator to catch up. Unless the content is really compelling, my attention wanders and I lose interest.

I still see so-called reviews in the article-to-video style, particularly with reviews. I know someone is using the software because the voiceover is the same kind of robotic voice you hear in many voicemail menus.

My guess is that many of these are uploaded by wannabe affiliates who don't have the language skills to do the voiceover themselves, nor the budget to pay for a true voiceover. Add in the ones who either can't or are too lazy to create a real PP, and you get the sludge I talked about earlier.

The difference between a professional VSL like End of America and the article-to-text videos is like the difference between a gourmet banquet and a shit sandwich on moldy bread.

Contrary to the most people saying here... that kind of video is still the best to be used for Non-English market areas like Asia. And the number is huge. IMHO.

I believe said videos can be effective. Simple and powerful. I'd be swayed if the content was laid out in practical, clear fashion. Go for it, if this presentation style vibes with you.
