Which control panel is best to manage site?

I'm thinking of buying VPS for website, but confused with control panels.
cPanel and Plesk both seem similar to me after reading the documentations, can anyone tell me which one is better?

    Plesk is better because it is available on both Windows Server and Linux distributions

      Which is, of course, totally immaterial UNLESS you manage a mixture of web servers, some of which are windows based servers and some of which are Linux based servers.

        For now, I'll be having only Linux based applications. But maybe in future, I can go for Windows based.
        Can I use cPanel for now and later shift to Plesk?

    i think plesk is better for your website. You can use both operating system linux and windows.

    Good decision to step into VPS hosting and congratulations to you, for the full control over your site you've got now.
    Regarding on your hesitation, I think you should also consider about the size of VPS you are going to purchase. Don't forget, such web-based control panels will consum a ridiculously great number of your precious server resources, you also give hackers a huge surface area to attack and gain control over your account.
    Plus, plenty of functions that you may nerver use them but have to pay great pennies for them per VPS per month.

    Unless you have a specific need, I would choose cPanel because it's the most popular. This makes it easy to move your site(s) to another hosting service that also offers cPanel if the need arises.
