Internet marketing nomads

Just wondering how many others have gone nomad with their internet marketing?

I'm at the point where, within the next 2 months I'll be moving onto a yacht, and from there I'll be setting off to explore Europe...while working online of course!

To start with it's all about the money, and most of us start out marketing with the intention to make millions overnight. But at least with me, overtime, I switched to a more value based goal.

I'll try to explain: It's not about the money, it's about the life the money gets you. And most of that 'life' can be had without the money.

My goal was to earn enough to live on a yacht and travel about just being happy, exploring, playing guitar in the sun. I assumed I'd need to make millions. When I came to really checking into how much I'd need, it turns out it isn't much at all. And as I've been informed they are knocking down the house that I currently rent to build a road, anchors away!

So that will be my life, and without getting rich I'll have a very rich life from my online endeavours. And that's a lesson I think a lot of people would do well to think about, and partly why I'm sharing this. You can often create your dream lifestyle without getting rich, provided you can make money from the internet, as you are essentially free.

I'm interested to hear if anyone else has gone full-nomad from their marketing, and how it has worked out for them?

    Funny you should bring this up.

    First, let me say that I have been marketing online for over 17 years and have been extremely successful doing it. I've had many exotic sports cars, huge house, never had to worry about bills, etc, etc... So I have lived the dream that most seek.

    However, as I've become older, I've become quite frugal and really don't care anymore about material things. Last month I sold my house and the majority of my personal possessions and for the most part, just plan on traveling.

    While I still have many commitments business-wise, most of the day to day work is handled by VA's. So I'm not locked into being in any one location. The biggest thing is just working out how to make sure I always have internet and preferably unlimited.

    I've been thinking about buying an RV and living in it when I'm in the U.S., but I'm looking at other options as well. As I have no plans to buy another house, getting an apartment, etc...

    So yea, I'm going nomad. At least I'm giving it a shot and seeing if it works for me.

      Awesome, glad to hear I'm not the only one. At a certain point you do have to stop hoarding and just get out there and see the world. I did think about the RV route, but here at least you get constant hassle no matter where you park them. The exceptions of course being places you wouldn't want to go.

      The yacht route seems a lot more fun, with more freedom, but the internet side of things becomes tricky. From my research so far, it looks like you have internet within about 15 miles of shore via a cellular connection. But to go further out (or in an RV away from cellular coverage) you need to use satellite. And satellite based internet is insanely expensive. Watching a full HD movie could easily cost you $100, which means satellite isn't an option for my needs.

      In my case I'm setting things up so I only need to check in at the times I'll be anchoring in a cellular coverage zone, but it's something to think about no matter your mode of adventuring. To me, this is the whole point of internet marketing.

    The RV route is a good idea! There is indeed a lot of opportunities in the IM industry, you just have to set a good plan on how you manage to work on your online business no matter where you are headed.
