Help with adding a coaching stream to my online strategy

I'm just curious if this is a hungry market who are willing to pay for coaching since many teachers are at the lower end of the pay scale?

Are there other teacher coaching programs out there that people buy into?

Hi Todd - great idea, but now you have to test it for demand. Take a look at everything from books to other online courses (Teachable, Udemy, etc...) to see if you can see other courses targeting teachers and if yes, what specifically their angle is.

My concern would be that only a very small fraction of teachers would look outside the "normal"
teacher development offered by their employers and that market may be too small...but that's only a gut feel from someone who is not in your industry.

If you can gain both clarity and more certainty around the desired outcome that your market wants to achieve then it becomes much easier to create, deliver and market your course or coaching.

I'd say network with top folks in your niche and charge on the higher end of the scale to address fears with receiving money, and to rid yourself of tire kickers quickly.

Here is something I have done with some success (not with new teachers) but with other audiences that tend to be members of professional groups and associations (my guess is "teachers" would qualify).


Go to your local library and look in the reference section for this 3-volume set: The Encyclopedia of Associations. (You can also access it online, but it is quite expensive)


It is a wonderful resource and will give you lists (with contact information) of local, state, and national organizations who serve their members in various subjects. Sometimes the associations will have a newsletter, web sites, forums, etc. This can be the start to your very targeted search for new teachers and places where you can access them in numbers.

Have you tested this out? It's a great idea but why narrow it down to just male teachers? Why not include female teachers? Narrowing it down also narrows down your chances of having more sales.

Hello Todd. You may be able to find some great feedback on Amazon dealing with educational resources for educators, especially those for at-risk or troubled students. Typically, the feedback would give you an idea of if it's a male or female and how well the material I have to help them or is in demand to be an assistance teachers. Also, there is teacher pay teachers. Teachers Pay Teachers as designed by teachers to sell materials other teachers which gives you some idea of what's being sold. Last, you can search for the number of male teachers and the subject matters taught by male teachers the most from websites such as greatschools or even doing a search in bing. Bing nowadays is design towards education support for the classroom. A great old school way of getting some great Insight would be to search for online forms for teachers, Educators, or those who work in the education systems. Usually people are open to complaining about their problems in forums.

Is there a demand from new male teachers who want help with their profession? You have to always follow the demand. If this is a niche where you're "kind of" creating, i dont advise it. If you said that you know for certain there's a forum/site/community/SRDS list/etc where new male teachers are needing help during their first year.... then i would be on-board with the idea. As a male teacher yourself, i assume you would know if there's a region on the internet where they exist.

It does not hurt give it a shot. Also, you can easily find the target through Facebook Marketing, so you can try out your ideas!

Also, you can start monetizing different Facebook Groups which has teachers within the group to test out your ideas. Hope that helps.

No Dude! I do online marketing for last few years and also Facebook marketing. So I had a few ideas that I wanted to share with ya. Though that would help.

"You have a background as a class room teacher ," and you want to focus on male teachers which is good since you know who you want to target.I have a few questions to ask
1 Do you have a track record or results to show that you have multiple streams of income ?
2 Why wouldnt you choose a niche educational related being that you have experience in the class room ?
Don't you think that it is more logical to choose a subject that you have experience in to increase your chances of making sales ?

Hi Todd, I am a professional results coach and the idea of combining coaching with teaching is basically called Mentoring.
As a seasoned teacher you know a lot about how to teach a certain topic, yet many miss the benefits of understanding the students' starting point and have no idea how to approach different kinds of students to improve their results.
I would suggest you make a guide for teachers on how to understand the students' personality type and motivations in order to create "personal goal oriented learning" based on internal motivation. That way teachers will have greater impact on the students' progress.

I think, as people have pointed out, it would certainly work if you put a twist or different angle on your coaching. Teach things from your experience that they cannot find in other online/offline courses.


Setup a value ladder, with free/low cost entry products and then funnel people up to your higher ticket offers. Hard to go straight in at the high end. But teach, provide value and they'll be begging for your higher priced coaching offer!

First thing first, find someone that has done what you are trying to do. You need a coach of your own. When it comes to finding a coach make sure they have a good track record on helping others. You must see results. Also, their ethics in business must be aligned with your own. Finally, look into how well they meet the needs of the people being coached. I hope this helped
