Need Ideas For Newly Written E-book

Hi,

I've written an e-book about getting products on Amazon at crazy discounts and am not sure where to go from here??

I wrote it with no main business idea in mind except to sell it on Amazon or Fiverr, but
i think it has more potential than that.

I registered SizableSavings.com and am going to have the book point back there.
I'm not sure what I want to put on that site, maybe a forum or blog??

I still need to get it formatted and designed but the tedious part (for me at least)
was writing it. I started writing it because I was getting tons of products from 70 - 100% off and I thought other people would want to know about this?

I would appreciate any ideas / suggestions.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what your secret sauce might be, but I worry that your tips and suggestions, particularly if they are unique to Amazon, might be here to today and gone tomorrow.

That said, I'd create an e-book in pdf format and use it as a free lead magnet to sell Amazon products, either on your own site or as an affiliate. You can advertise your e-book on Facebook, Bing, etc.

With your own site you can create pertinent posts and email those that have signed up for your free e-book with the latest steals and deals.

Anyway, that's one idea for you. I'm sure there are others.

Here's just one idea (and there are many more): create a "deal" site that incorporates all the suggestions from your ebook. If some of the links or references in your book go stale, you can update them on your deal site.

Gather subscribers and send them an email "deal of the day" with your affiliate link sending them to a super deal each day.

There are web themes built for just such a site that make importing deals really easy. Here's just one example:

    Premium Press
Check out their "Coupons & Deals" web site theme. According to their site, you can import thousands of stores, coupons and deals into your website in minutes using their free iCodes plugin.

Here are some example deal sites that are making a lot of money (just so you can see the possibilities):

    dealnews.com
    dealdump.com
    woot.com
    livingsocial.com
    buyvia.com
    techbargains.com
    hotdeals.com
    smartsource.com
    slickdeals.net

    The very best to you,

You need more certainty when it comes to marketing ebooks. Did you do your background research to see if people were INDEED looking for this information? You made an assumption in thinking people "would" be interested in this ebook, but is there a forum/community/site/keywords that supports this assumption.

I think you created the product, and are now trying to create a niche too.

Always find the niche FIRST, then deliver to them what they are looking for.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I wrote the book because my family and friends wanted to know what was going on with all the boxes that I keep getting.

Once I told them, they started doing it as well.

I love the idea of creating a "deal" site. DealNews is one of my favorite sites!

I agree, I could have researched the niche. I wasn't looking to start up anything
but once I started writing I looked for a fitting domain and am now thinking of monetizing.

There are tons of blog posts that talk about savings.

Maybe you should hire a low cost VA to do outreach for you

    They open. You close.

What's in it for bloggers? Link back to them inside the book or sell a non-Kindle version of the book and split revenues. There are simple scripts you can install for revenue sharing/sales tracking.

You need to start a daily podcast - DAILY DEALS or at least start 2-3 times a week. Podcasts have immense reach, are easy to listen to, brand you as an expert and from there you can link people back to a landing page (ideally you get them to subscribe to a daily summary of your deals where you can lead them via aff links) or directly to an offer page.

Thank you again for all the ideas.

I like the idea of a deal site and have been looking through Premium Press pretty thoroughly.

Does anyone know of any others to look through.

I also need a way for people (and myself) to share great purchases / discounts found using the methods in the book. Would a blog or forum accomplish this?

I am planning on publishing it to Amazon, I know there are millions of books there but who knows, it could become popular.

I appreciate all the help. I have been out of IM for several years (10+) and am happy to be getting back into it. I have hosting but realize I am going to need an autoresponder as well to do this the right way. Any suggestions for a responder?

    Thanks again!

Before you sell your product, can you find product similar to yours which have been selling successfully? If there is you need to learn to sell that product first because it is a proven product that sells. Now you borrow the sales technique to sell your own product. If it is not selling you need to analyze where you went wrong and rectify the mistakes..

How about you start putting short articles liinking (with your amazon affiliate link of course) to these great deals. That would make you the authority. From there you can create a short article/giveaway the start promoting your ebook

crackhouse, my original plan was (and still is) to sell it on Amazon. I registered the domain so I can refer to it in the book, post updates, answer questions and have a place for readers and myself to post deals that were found.

Maybe I should just build a forum??

Can anyone recommend a good way to build a forum.

I do have hosting with host gator.

Thanks again to everyone, there are some great suggestions here and I am looking into all of them.

Before you get started with ideas - I would suggest you think about what your goal is with this book.

    1. You can use it as a "freebie" to build your e-mail list, if you have a website.

    2. You can sell it, at Amazon.com or other websites that sell ebooks.

    3. You can create a series of money saving books, on other related topics - so people have other books to buy.

There are a variety of different ways you can market your book, but I think part of what will help you focus, is to think about 1) what you want to do with the book, and 2) what your goal is for the book

*Amazon Prime Day is July 16th, I would suggest you take a look at it, because many people will be looking at Amazon to shop. I'll admit I don't know what is in your book, but depending on what is, if you launch around this time, it might help it go viral.

Good luck & congratulations on writing your book! I know I want to read it!!!!

Yep; a self-hosted Wordpress blog with comments open would allow you and your readers to spread the word on these deals. You can publish posts on the topic and invite readers to share deals via comments. Or if readers run blogs of their own, or have some writing skills, open your blog up to guest posting. Awesome community builder.

    Hi

Most on this thread are looking at this from the consumer savings angle. Nice work if you can get your average skinflint to pay up....

However, there is another group of consumers that me be more willing to pay a premium for what you have offer (assuming the deals you can get aren't just all penny ante bullshit). They may also be interested in buying any tools you might develop that would make their job of seeking out these deals easier.....the group is arbitrageurs, in every form....

I've done my fair share of arbitrage deals, and i can tell you that I am definitely interested in your book, which ever way you go with it.

Whatever you do don't follow most of the advice on this thread, everyone and their uncle will tell you to invest time and money on this strategy and that... building a site, a forum, a blog, doing this... doing that ... the suggestions are endless, and executing them takes way longer than explaining them... and even you mentioned that you plan to connect the book to the site, already have a domain name, and other plans etc ....

but here's the problem with all that...

    none of it's needed.

If your book is good enough it will sell itself on amazon and posting it there will be enough to grow the other stuff as you go along.

However you could waste all your time doing all that other marketing stuff and maybe it connects together and makes sense, and works... or maybe you would end up back again where you started, still wondering how to sell a few copies of your book.

Not trying to be negative here but just saying that all that other junk is a waste of time until you have a product that really sells itself. Then it's worth building an entire business around.. until then all the marketing in the world won't help you force people on amazon to buy your book. it's either good or it's not... the good ebooks go viral just by existing. Shoot any ebook posted on amazon will get at least 50-100 readers .. but getting thousands or millions all depends on the first 50-100 and how they like your book, and who they tell, etc.

    Hey There,

    What i would do is

1.) Create a lead magnet out of your main ebook that you created. That way you have something to give away, and is relevant to your paid offer ( your ebook)

2.) Create a squeeze page giving the free offer away.

3.) Create an auto responder series building the like, know, and trust factor. At the same time promote your free offer.

4.) Create an account on all major social media accounts, and have a link to your squeeze page in them. Connect with people looking for what you are selling.

5.) You can start paid traffic but track everything.

    Hope this helps you

Market the heck out of it. Use facebook,, instagram, twitter, reddit...More the merrier.

A and B test it. I would even go far as coming up with two titles. Sell one version on your site for $19.95 or so. Place your second version on Amazon. Change the content on one version. Test it.

    Good luck....
