Need Help finding an employee directory plugin!

I've been working and looking for an employee directory plugin that's simple to operate and is user friendly for people using the website.

Basically I have a client who has 5 location for his business and he wants to have it so all his real estate agents can be searched up in a directory within his wordpress website that has the functionality where people can search the agents by name, location they work at, and the first letter of their name (we could honestly do without this one).

We'd also need the agents to be able to submit their information, like Name, Address, etc., but where the admin has to approve the listing entry information, before their profile//listing goes public.

I feel like finding a plugin like this should be easy, but it's been incredibly difficult. I've purchased 2 plugins and neither have offered this functionality.

Thanks in advance!

Use a business directory plugin and instead of listing businesses, list the realtors as a business, utilizing only the fields you need and creating custom fields if others are required.

I had a problem like yours and this solution worked, just fine. It also can be set so that the entries need to be approved by the Admin before they will display.

This seems to cover all of your issues, including the search functionality.

Oh man that does sound like a good alternative. This would really take a headache off my plate. Do you have any you recommend? If it's not allowed to post it here, could you pm it to me, please?

Well, I use WPMU plugins, almost exclusively, but I believe the membership is close to $600 per year. I heard they were moving to a $49 a month plan for unlimited sites, but not sure if that is in effect, as of now.

You can try WPEKA Club. You can purchase one-off plugins, there and they have nice stuff. I can't recommend anything that's free. I don't do 'free.'

BTW - I am NOT an affiliate for either source, or anything else. I also don't do, 'affiliate.' lol

Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

      Cheers.

Both of those things can be done with Tags which are already built into Wordpress.

Wordpress internal search bars are common there's also plugins and/or simply paste the search bar code into the theme.

    I don't understand this part.

If these agents work for your client, the client should be the adding the real estate agents info. to the site.

The client (admin) already has to verify all info. being submitted is correct and should already know this info./data.

Why not get a custom plugin done at freelancer.com or other freelance platforms?

    You need something scalable

Maybe get it built for your client but keep the rights for yourself and just give your client a license to use your stuff

You can then turnaround and sell to other directory sites. There are TONS of those.

Build once, make money many times over.

Turn these ideas and the solutions they inspire into PASSIVE INCOME ASSETS

Why not just have him get what he needs for a few dollars and move on with the direction he has chosen for his project?

His situation is rather unique and I don't see any demand for a proprietary solution, whatsoever. Most people facing this type of need would use BuddyPress or a simple membership plugin. I only recommended a business directory plugin since it was something I had first-hand knowledge of.

It's not necessary to constantly look for ways to reinvent the wheel in an effort to suck every last penny out of a project. I'm assuming the OP is looking to make money now, not spend it needlessly in the hopes of making it back, later.

If you think building this plugin is a good idea to generate passive income going forward, what's stopping YOU from doing it? Exactly! :-)

I doubt the client has a high employee turnover rate so this is a one time job for entering data on the site except for the occasional new hire in the future.

I think a plugin is overkill and unnecessary.
