Why instant sales pitches don't work?

I see random sales pitches coming from strangers in their first ever messages. It's sort of funny, you just add someone to your friends list, you don't bother to introduce yourself, you add no value to the conversation, build no relationship, NOTHING.

How can you expect them to buy your product/service? Why should they?

It's like asking a random girl on the street to go on a date with you. What would happen next?

Don't SELL a service, SOLVE a problem.

    So True....How can they expect someone to buy your product/service without any relationship or building their product/services Quality Trust......I always go for buying from someone who really solve my queries or put efforts to sell me...Even If i might be getting it at lower price from someone else...I don't only check the branding/quality of product/services...I go both with quality and kind of seller offering me product/services.

    It is just like here. Someone will come along and in before they even post for the first time they get their signature all set. And that signature starts with the word "Buy"

    Who says instant sales pitches don't work?

    If you're ugly or look like a bum they would tell you to buzz off... but if you look half decent and can make them smile, you'd get your fair share of dates. If they keep on doing it they would eventually become more skilful and would never be dateless again.

    It's like MLM or Network Marketers.who are taught the 3-foot rule and approach everyone. Most will not stick around long enough to learn the "skills" needed to succeed because of following phoney Cassanova's who give bad advice,

    Remember every master was once a disaster. These uneducated newbies just need to learn a few simple "Skills" to up their game. They have a real problem you can help solve by teaching what really works.

      Agree, that's one way to look at it, still will require a lot of trial and error for your first sales pitch to be successful. With 'instant sales pitches', I meant to say pitches coming from someone with a mediocre product. A pitch from someone credible enough (good product, positive case studies), that's more likely to be successful even though it was an instant sales pitch. Only the product matters in the end, if it's the better choice and you find it useful, you'd go for it.

      As you said, practice makes perfect!

        If such were the case, every consumer would purchase the top rated product in the niche regardless of any other factors.


        But as a long-time marketer I have found that price matters, credibility of the seller matters, added bonuses matter, shipping cost and time matter, guarantees matter, convenience of the transaction matters, and the sales presentation matters (along with a few other things).


        All these things are variables that influence your ability as a marketer to make a sale. If the product itself was the only consideration, why does Amazon outsell everyone else that carries the same product?

    There's something called Zero Moment of Truth.

    When you are exposed to a sale pitch you always go to google and look who is the salesman, what is the product about, reviews, scams etc.

    And that's why you have to populate your web presence with YOUR contents so people read what YOU WANT and after being exposed to your marketing material, they could buy.

    It's not a matter of pitch in the first instance or in the second, it's a matter of Authority, i mean you can pitch in every mail, even in the welcome mail at the end, but you have to nurture and furnish your 'image avatar', the web presence.
