Youtube Ranking for Lead Generation

I'm just trying to use Youtube as a source for Lead Generation

What's your advice for rankiing?

Did any of you use retention views? if so which source (website) you use?

I have read that you need 20% of the average of the sum of the first 5 videos in the top ranking for your keyword, to get ranked.

Any experiences?

    Hi John,

ranking well on Youtube depends greatly on the competition.

A good tip that a lot of people over look to get highly ranked on Youtube is to use the description
    beneath the video.

Here you have the option to use up to 250 words of text.

I have frequently used this to rank my videos well on Youtube.

Have a good headline and repeat it in the description.

Then repeat it again for one of your keywords.

    Hope this helps.

Ranking your videos can be hard, but all you need to do is get the hang of it.

    Here are a few tips:

    - Make your videos are a little longer (about 10 minutes is good)
-Focus on the first 15 seconds of the video so that you can grasp your viewer's attention
-Do your keyword research, and put your keywords in the title of your video

-Make sure you mention your target keywords in your videos, titles, descriptions, and tags

-Have people engage more with your videos (ask them to like, comment, and subscribe)
-Make your thumbnail stand out from your competitors

-Make your description compelling in the first two lines

What is the reason videos need to be long?

I've noticed the viral types of videos are all around 5 minutes long and keep repeating the same info. They are very badly edited, and it's so obvious they are padding the video out to be longer.

Is it because there's more likelihood the ads will be clicked on a longer video?

Or YouTube just likes longer videos for SEO?

      thanks

Agreed, this is what is often forgotten. Following and commenting also helps out a lot. Even if you share it on social media, generating attention there by commenting back cannot be forgotten too. Just be proactive.

I agree with the answers above. All good advice.
You need to get your keyword in the Video name, a few times (+ variations) in the description and tags.
I would also add the keyword in the playlist.
If you already have well ranking videos, add your new video's link in the description of those videos.
Use an indexing service like LinkIndexr to index the video. You could also get social links built through services like Socialmonkee.
Another great way to rank a video is to use the Live streaming option. Using a free live streaming software (I use Wirecast Free version), you can live stream even a pre-made video.
If you choose your keywords well, you can use livestreaming to get your videos ranked pretty quickly.

This is what I know about youtube SEO

As we Know video continues to play an important role in marketing in 2018. Thanks to YouTube, which is currently the second largest search engine in the world and other social media platforms, content creators can easily share their message with the world of Internet whole.

On the other hand, the hype around video marketing and these online sharing platforms has created a highly competitive business landscape. Creating meaningful content is not enough to bring it out. If brands intend to outpace the competition, it is imperative that they produce relevant content. Most importantly, you should constantly look for new ways and adopt new strategies that would allow your videos to rank higher. Knowing the SEO best practices will help you optimize your channel, which will allow users to find, view and share your content more easily.

What are the benefits of video marketing?
Still doubting the relevance of video content? Here are some facts and statistics that should prove that this practice is worth it.

    1. Consumers love to watch videos.
A survey by HubSpot and Tubular Insights found that consumers spend up to 1.5 hours a day watching videos. About 15% of 570 respondents say they watch more than 3 hours of content on a regular day.

    The survey shows that:

72% of consumers prefer to watch video content to learn about a brand's products.
81% of viewers admitted to having purchased products or services after watching an advertisement.
69% of viewers said they bought a software or application after watching an ad.
    2. Marketers have succeeded with this strategy.
The same study reveals that marketers who have used video marketing have benefited.

    The survey shows that:

76% of marketers saw their sales increase.
97% of respondents say that this has increased awareness of their products or services.
76% of the respondents said that this brings qualified traffic.
    3. Consumers all share content.
Cat videos are not the only type of content that can become viral. Everything that informs and / or involves emotions will be shared by the public. The HubSpot study shows that 83% of consumers will be sharing content they like with their friends.

    Why YouTube?
YouTube is, as mentioned, one of the most visited search engines in the world. He is the second after Google (who owns Youtube). It has more than one billion active users, nearly one-third of the online community. More importantly, it is favored by millennials. The platform is so popular among millennials that it is able to reach more audiences than TV channels.

How to reference a YouTube video?
Now that we've established that video marketing is important and that publishing content on YouTube is absolutely necessary, it's time to learn how to get more views, subscribers and traffic from the platform. Here's what you need to do to develop your YouTube channel:

    1. Find keywords
Every great SEO plan starts with keyword research .

Come with a list of search terms that you want to use to reference your content. Remember that the keywords you choose must have YouTube videos on the first page of Google SERP or on the targeted search engine results page.

Sometimes you might encounter terms for which there are no videos yet. If you encounter this case, you can view the related search terms (at the bottom of Google). You will find that the following keywords will often have videos highlighted in the SERP:

    How KEY-WORD
    MOTER-CYCLE Reviews

    KEYWORD Tutorials
Choosing a search term that contains a YouTube video in the SERP allows you to reference the content you've published not only on YouTube's search engine, but also on Google's search engine. There are a lot of tools you can use for keyword research. Programs like this should help you find a list more easily and quickly.

These tools are not often free. You may have to pay a monthly subscription fee. So, if you do not want to pay for this step, you can use Google's keyword planner . When using this program, be sure to look at the number of searches a keyword gets each month. There should be at least 300 for the keyword to be interesting.

    2. Produce a video
The next step in the process is centered on the content itself. When you have selected the keyword, you must start planning your video.

Although using the keyword makes your content easier to find, it will not convince viewers to watch your video. In order for your audience to be inspired to watch more of what you post, the content you put online must be compelling.

In a statement, YouTube reminded content creators that audience retention has a significant impact on rankings, that videos viewed to the end are more likely to show up in search results and audience suggestions. the platform.

There are two aspects that make a great YouTube video:

First, the way you tell a story.

The way you present important facts and information will determine the reaction of your audience. If the content is boring and dry, viewers will not see the entire clip. Look for compelling ways to present the most boring topics, and you will surely find an audience that will love seeing your content.

Sometimes choosing the best format for your story will make it even bigger. For example, if you want to redirect traffic, you certainly will not be able to do it in a 10-second ad.

Second, the way you mount your video.

This step is perhaps the most exhausting of the two, but it is probably the most important. Editing adds life to your videos. That's how you can create excitement and encourage consumers to buy your products, subscribe to your channel, or whatever you want them to do after watching your content.

    3. Use YouTube Analytics
Always try to understand the type of content your audience wants. You can determine their preferences using YouTube Analytics . This tool helps you evaluate the quality of your video and the impact it has had on your viewers.

As mentioned earlier, audience retention is very useful. You can actually check if viewers have watched your videos until the very end. The tool also lets you know how much content they viewed before leaving. Knowing such factors should help you identify the parts where your content has become boring and the parts that were interesting.

    Youtube

How to optimize videos for YouTube?
After creating your video, there are a number of other things you need to keep in mind to get a higher ranking on YouTube. Factors you should pay attention to include:

    1. The title of the video
The title must be percussive and consist of at least five words. This way you can use multiple keywords and avoid repetition. Just as in writing content, there is a benefit if the keyword is placed at the beginning of the title.

For example: " Video Marketing: How to make explanatory videos? "

    2. The description of the video
The description box is actually very important, do not leave it empty. It helps YouTube and Google determine the type of content you have published. The more their algorithms can understand what you have done, the higher your video is likely to rank higher.

A description must have at least 250 words. The keyword must be repeated two to four times in this summary. And one of them should be placed somewhere in the first 25 words.

    3. The tags of the video
Tags are not as important as the first two factors, but they can still help your creations to rank better. By adding targeted tags, it can help position your keyword, and it should make your content more visible in the related videos section of the YouTube sidebar.

The exact keyword you have chosen may be your first tag. The rest can be variations of this sentence or word. In addition to this, you can use topics that are covered by your video.

    4. The Youtube channel page
You can really optimize your channel, and you really should. You can categorize videos into playlists, allowing YouTube to better understand your content. By doing so, your profile can better rank. In addition, a well-organized and professional channel should have a better chance of attracting subscribers.

When you create the description of your page, sprinkle some words or phrases that you want to be positioned on. But never stuff it with keywords!

    After that ?
Once you've done all this, think about how you're going to promote your video. While all of these steps ensure the visibility of your content, you should never sit back and wait for someone to discover it. You should be active in promoting your creations.

Share your videos on social networks, preferably on platforms where your viewers spend most of their time. You should also target forums and other popular communities where people like to talk about the latest trends. Just remember that nobody likes spam ...

If you apply all these rules well, your Youtube channel should see its number of subscribers take off!

You tube is a good way to drive leads and give you the leverage to connect with your ideal customers while they build trust knowing that they are talking to a human .

As far as ranking goes you need to optimize your headlines and descreption box with the proper use of key words and also good valuable content. You can use custom thumbnails too because they help when it comes to ranking in my experience.

You might also want to see if page views or time spent on videos is more important when it comes to ranking .I think time spent on video is more important if my memory serves me correct but I could be wrong.Go and do the research on it to be sure.

It is very much niche dependent. I use videos to generate leads and I find it the best free source for lead generation. Focus on the description of the video and of course on tags. But ultimately it all depends upon the quality and usefulness of your video for your niche. Last thing, my experience has been that video gets more views when you are in the video explaining the stuffs rather than showing desktop all the time. Share the desktop only when required.

There's a few concepts important to ranking videos on Youtube. The use of keywords has more to do with relevancy than ranking. YT will use keywords to gather a list of relevant videos, then use engagement metrics to determine rank.

Youtube will sometimes rank new videos simply based on relevancy, assuming relevancy is very good. Then, Youtube will use engagement metrics to determine if the video should keep its rank, rank higher or rank lower.

The most important ranking factor IMO is what's known as "session watch time". This is how much video people watch on YT AFTER they view your video. Do people leave YT while watching your video or does your video send people to a playlist where people continues to watch even more video? The more video people watch on Youtube, the more money they make. And the more money they make the more YT will help promote your video.

Also very important is viewer retention and accumulated watch time. How much of your video do people watch? 10%? 90%?

Here's a couple of quick tips not mentioned above:

If your video doesn't rank after 3-4 weeks, change the keywords.

Assuming the video ranks for somewhat popular keywords, if you video ranks, but doesn't get clicks, change your thumbnail.

After uploading your video, always post the first comment on your video. Use both your main keyword to help relevancy and an open-ended question to encourage viewers to engage with your video.

    Here's a good guide to open-ended questions:

Use Google Keyword Planners to find long tail keyword phrases related to your product. You'll find it's easier to rank with these keyword phrases that have monthly searches of 100-2000 rather than trying to compete with a 2 word keyword with 10000+ searches.

Once you decide on the keyword phrase, make that the title including the exact phrase in your video title that you want to rank with. Also when you create the video & save it to your computer, make that keyword phrase the file name instead of some goofy filename like vid3627845. I think that helps when you upload it to Youtube.

Search for your keyword phrase in Google & see if there are any video results showing up on the 1st page. Your goal will be to outrank & replace that video. Sometimes there are even 2 videos showing up on the 1st page.

Type in your keyword phrase in YouTube search & see what the top ranking videos are doing including what tags they are using (right click & view page source to see their tags by using browser's "find" feature & searching for "keywords"). Use your own keyword tags & also copy their tags when you create your video.

Repeat your keyword phrase in your description 1-2x but make sure your description makes sense & isn't a list of keywords just to stuff them in. Make the 1st line in your description your keyword followed by the URL you want people to visit. Include a link to your video channel in your description. After you upload the video, edit & add a link to the video you just uploaded in the description of your video (the https://youtube one & not the youtu.be one). If you have related videos you can create a playlist & add that link in the description as well.

I've heard that 2-3 minute videos are the best length as possibly they rank higher as people tend to watch the full length rather than a 10-20 minute video. I haven't followed that advice completely myself but have made 1-2 minute videos in an attempt to get people to non-digital product site of mine. However, I currently rank on 1st & 2nd page of Google (shifts every once in a while) with 7-14 minute videos. They rank on 1st page at YouTube. YouTube has said in the past they do rank videos higher with higher view time (translation - don't bore your viewers) - https://youtube-creators.googleblog....-for-time.html

I use pingfarm.com to submit the video https://youtube URL. I also have bought social signals in the past & am not sure if it helped or not but will continue to do so on some videos. Promote the video yourself on your social channels.

Create different channels for each niche with keyword related titles for your channels. You can also create a broad single authority channel as some of those in the IM niche do.

Social shares and high retention views is what gets your video ranked on youtube. Youtube is rewarding videos that keep the viewer longer on there website. Therefore it is important to create video playlists, and insert it in your end screen so as to encourage your visitors to view your other videos.

Quiet late to reply on this but I hope this helps you.

Now you have definitely got different answers, I will tell you some of the things I do that give me ranking in 2 hours max, and I am able to bit the competition.

Do a video as long or as short as it matters.

Create a thumbnail using CANVA make it interesting.

Upload the video and thumbnail keyword in title. write a good story description with keywords.

take the URL and submit to Google. also ping it on Ping O Matic.

Then do a syndaction post on social media and better to buy authority tumbler accounts. Post the video and the post URLS submit to google.

Thats it 2 hour later video ranks and from the social syndication you will start getting some likes and comments.

I just want to mention something, in your video create curosity to make the audience watch till the end.

for this you will require good syndication tool and please do not buy tumbler accounts from fiverr.

    Hope this helps you.

    Cheers

What you will find out is that youtube makes predictions hence why when you search ideas pop up related to your search. You can choose one of the topics ideas as the title for your video .You will also find that these topic ideas aren't saturated ,you can find good search volume , but low competition.

Use your video title in the beginning of your video too.Another thing that you might want to do is use customized thumbbails and tag your videos.

There are many myths when it comes to ranking on YouTube (which is not the same as ranking a video on Google).

    For YouTube:

    Zero backlinks needed
    Long description not needed
    Tons of tags not needed
    Embeds/social signals not needed
    Fiverr gigs not needed

You need to give YouTube what it wants.

It wants to know YOUR video is valuable. How does it determine that?

By people manually searching for a term and them clicking on YOUR video.

Intriguing titles and thumbnails can help with getting more clicks.

If you are way down after uploading an optimized video, then you need to
use some techniques to ensure you get the clicks the RIGHT way.

Giving a fiverr seller a link and getting views is not the right way.

A YouTube ad can get you leads and sales, but it will have minimal effect on YouTube rankings.

It's all well and good saying do what Brian Deane does but he (deservedly so) has a massive following.

Massive followings are why Youtubers rank. You think they buy Fiverr gigs and backlinks. they do not even know what SEO is.

They rank coz their videos provide YouTube with what it wants.

On page optimization (done the right way), engagement, retention, watch time are all important but you need a better CTR than your rivals.

If you get this right, when the algorithm updates, you will rank better.

For Ranking You could apply this few things

Nice Thumbnail and Title--Increases Click through rates

      Longer videos ---Increases Watchtime

Do not link out of YouTube on every video--Youtube responds negatively to videos that prompt people to leave YouTube itself.

If you want to promote your product you could do longer videos about 30 mins which will keep up the watchtime and then you can link out to your optin.

First few seconds you want to hook your audience by greating straight to the point.

You could also use some backlinks or blog comments to boost the rankings.

      Hope this helps.

Well, video marketing is useful to generate leads. Here I will suggest having interesting short videos. As people are busy enough and it's quite difficult for them to focus on what your services are or what are you offering all you need to focus on a bit funny and catchy and interesting can help you a lot.
You should use attractive tile use proper keywords will help a lot.

You can try to share your channel or YouTube video on other social media sites or on your website. Be more active on YouTube, by following relevant videos and commenting on related content also helps.

Yup keyword is important to rank your video higher since it is what most users type when they are looking for a video. But most importantly is that you need to increase your watch time and views to get a higher and better rank on YouTube.

I think if you have a tutorial video, don't forget to put "How to" in your title. And of course your video's length shouldn't be too short and too long.

Then make sure you write a short description of your video.
