Content Critique - Youtube Videos that stand out..

Casey Neistat is the greatest most interesting vlogger ever. Puddy Pie was one of the first introduce gaming as a means of watchable entertainment.

What could I have done in this video to make it more interesting? Do you guys watch youtube for entertainment or more so information....?

I'm guessing information..



This is linear content to be honest. The subject matter is basically an Anime based movie that is coming out and any Shonen Anime fan knows this character.

All ive done is assemble pictures, transitions, add music and of course give my opinion.

What could I have done to make this video pop and more interesting because frankly everyone is doing what this video did.

The goals I had in mind for this video are:
A: Attract more attention and garner more subscribers
B: Promote my company organically.(During the course of the video I through a hint to a 'bread and butter' product that'll be coming out in march of next year).

    Most of them are using screen capture/recorder. You need to do it in different way.

    What value are you providing to prospects in your niche with your video?


    To me, the reason for wanting to become "known" and followed is so that you can gather an audience.


    Entertainment alone is a poor way to do that if your ultimate goal is to sell something to your audience. Often, viewers that simply want to be entertained are looking for amusement, gratification, or diversion from reality. Those are really poor reasons to cater to a group of prospects that will likely never make a purchase from you.


    IMO, marketers should have the purpose in mind to help, assist, teach, or provide value to their audience. You want followers that are looking to you because they feel you can help them or guide them. You want them to trust you that you are an expert and can be a source of assistance when they need it.


    You'll often hear it said that people buy from those they know, like, and trust. (It's not always true in the case of "impulse buying" - but nevertheless it is generally true regarding most niche purchases where a prospect is looking for a particular solution to a problem or desire.)


    I know nothing about "Anime" but I believe if your ultimate goal is to make money online selling to your prospects (audience), you should focus on giving value and building trust in the niche . . . not on entertaining or gathering an audience seeking amusement.
