How To Sell Info Products w/NO AUDIENCE

I am launching a B2B Info Product in the "Make Money Online" niche with my target market being first time business owners in the 18-35 age bracket. Think Tai Lopez's model where he targets millennial and sells a business blueprint to get them started making money online.

My background comes from building a multi million tech start up in the past which did tons of marketing and reached millions of people.

My issue is that I don't have an audience starting out, but I want to sell my product AS I build my audience.

My question to you is.. what are ways to make sales from my Info Product initially while building my audience? My proposals are:

Affiliates - Could I get affiliates to sell my info product if it has a high commission + perpetual income (eg. give them a % for lifetime revenue of client) + cross promotion + etc?

J.V w/Authority - Could I partner with an Authority who already has an Audience?

I understand it takes time to make serious income from an Info Product through building an audience and email list over 6-12+ months... but I want to still make sales in the first 3-6 months through.

Is this possible?

I don't have an audience yet for my Info Product BUT I am considering this offer to "J.V with Authorities" who already have an Audience online in my niche. So they can sell my Info Product.

PERHAPS I could give him/her a personal brand promise of "branding" the info product under their name? (Eg. If there name is Anthony Jackson, I could say the Anthony Jackson Business Blueprint + Make the landing page and product page based around them)? That way, it's no work on their part as I already created the product and they simply gain from a % of the Info Product revenue + Personal Branding Value?

In Short the offer is:

- 30% of revenue to them

- They get personal branding by marking the info product under their name

- I do product development + customer service + marketing + sales all on my website

- They in return sell to their audience which gets the initial foundation of sales coming in as I build my own audience and grow

Ummmm...why would you not teach what you have already done?

How did you build a market for your tech product? If you feel that worked successfully then teach people to do the same.

When it comes to online marketing - the niche has been around long enough that to stand out, you need to be teaching PROVEN techniques...you are teaching as you are doing but you haven't DONE it yet.

So, my recommendation is to NOT make a course on starting an online business (where online marketing is THE KEY component) until you have done it. May sound harsh, but the reality is you won't succeed unless you do it first and then teach what you learn.

There are many highly successful IM Pioneers here on this forum that literally sold "proven info products" with no audience and they will be the first to tell you that their success was hard earned.

For starters they could earn money online and prove it. Easier said than done. However, once they shared their "ways" with others that also shared their "ways" and JVs were made to share limited lists (limited audiences) the no audience changed to paying audiences. Back in the day it was the Wild West of the Internet.

To make a long, but interesting story short.. First, prove yourself and prove your product earns, build an infrastructure wherein you legally own all the rights and then and only then will you be taken seriously by the IM Pioneers here on this forum.

I dont understand the issue... would seem to me you should have the ability to develop an audience. Seems to me you would understand the power of paid ad placement, to get things going. Seems to me you should understand AARRR ( aka the pirate cycle for growth hacking ):

    • Activation
    • Retention
    • Referral
    • Revenue

If everything you are saying is true... then what you are saying is you have 99 problems and traffic IS one... OR you just dont want to put in the work.. live out your 4 hours a week work week.. and get paid.. you simply dont have the time to develop what you perceive as your financial future.

I suspect the issue isnt selling the product.. there is something else

Look, I can put in the work for sure. I've built a popular start up from the ground up and work ethic is in my blood especially when things get tough.

At the same time, I have a "work smart AND hard, not just work hard" principle. Key term being "work smart" in this case.

All I'm wondering is if there's a way to "work smart" by applying certain rapid growth/growth hacking principles that rapidly grow an Info Product Business/Audience/Sales, as opposed to getting to $10K/mo after 10 years.

A lot of what I see from IMers is the sentiment that it takes ages to make real money. I don't disagree with them that it takes time, but all I'm wondering is if the same fast growth principles applied in tech start ups also exist in IM/Info Products?

How do I gain big traffic fast? (Eg. Leveraging off existing Authorities that I provide a great offer to? Paid traffic? Referral program for my leads? Hell, even a low-cost PR campaign?)
Look, it just seems a little incongruent, your past success and all.

You even have written several times, you know what to do, that is: LEVERAGE off of existing authorities? What is difficult to understand?

      Why aren't you doing it?

You have a product, a take off of the Tai Lopez training, a B2B product. Yes?
      You therefore KNOW the market.
You surely have found scores of groups, or sites which already exist, and you should KNOW who these authorities are, yes?

So, why haven't you contacted them with an offer?

As far as TIME, it is now legendary that members of the so-called Syndicate, a group of IM who cross promote to their lists have done over a million dollars in a single day.

All you really need is a product and offer as good as you think you have.

What is stopping you from this?

      You just don't add up.

Thanks guys, so you're saying do it first and then sell the info product. Well, I am considering doing an Info Product on How To Build a Successful Tech Start up (As thats my experience/knowledge and what I've actually done).

My main question is what are the fastest ways to grow an audience, traffic, and sales when you're starting out with no audience?

No matter what I sell. I understand the whole "Do it first, then teach" mindset and I agree.

But all I want to know is the proven fast growth methods when launching an Info Product with no audience?

Perhaps I come from a "fast growth mindset" in the tech start up world, but all I want to know is rapid growth principles for Info Product business model when starting out.

Here's just one proven method (there are lots of others):

It involves paid advertising to audiences that already know and trust other marketers in your targeted niche.

Find marketer's that already have large and responsive lists of subscribers who would be perfect prospects for your offer.

Either do a joint venture with the list owner or pay a fee (usually pretty hefty) to have him do a mailing for you. It's best if you get to know the list owner first and have him vouch for the usefulness of your product. In essence, he is "endorsing" your product and offer - saying he stands behind the product and its creator.

Start by looking for successful marketers with large lists in your space that don't have competing products. Just be aware . . . it will take some effort on your part to find quality list owners that will to give a newbie (to the niche) a chance to market to his audience. He doesn't know you or your product and doesn't want to mislead (and disappoint) his subscribers so it will be paramount for you to show some performance, conversion of your offer, social proof from happy buyers, and other "proof" that you and your product really do what you claim. You do this by doing a small private "beta" launch of the product to get some feedback and positive customer experiences (testimonials) with your product.

You must "reduce the risk" the list owner will typically feel about working with an unproven seller and a brand new product. It can be done . . . but that is your challenge to overcome.

      The best to you,

      Steve

By growing one and leveraging off other authorities and affiliates' audiences.

      While growing your own.

That's how I am going to experiment anyways and asking others if they think thats possible and if they have any methods for rapid growth ideas in Info Products.

  • Always first have a starving audience before you create a product, especially if you are planning to do a product launch in the "make money online" niche.

Who is your target audience, have you identified them already? You have given age groups, but do you know where they currently hangout online, so you can market your business startup blueprint course, effectively to them?

Once you know where your audience is online, and what their actually problems/needs are, that they will pay YOU for to have met, then and only then, do you create an information product around solving those problems, and providing for those needs.

You can pay for an online advertising campaign, to build your audience/email lists. You can also presell your information product online, before you even create your product. Have a landing page setup, and offer free biz startup training, in exchange for your prospects' email addresses, then let the ones on your newly created email list know, that you will be launching an advanced course, in 2 to 3 months time. Let them sign up, and pay you in advance to beta test product at a discounted price, if they are interested, and you can have some sales, and test your products viability, before you actually do your product launch in the make money online niche.

Going back into my past... I too gained a ton of experience from a startup.. just south of 9 digits worth of startup... Stepping away from that and starting new wasn't that hard. ( in terms of starting something new and fresh ) You should have things the average Joe does not at this point.

At the VERY least you should have a pretty decent circle of influence, That just so happens to probably have the same type of experience you have.. SOMEWHERE in that circle is your leverage point. And unlike 20 years ago your circle should have multiple points of leverage with what it is you are looking for in terms of online usability.

Try this on for size.. STOP thinking your startup days have ended.. and start thinking you havent left, you are only expanding. If you were still working your tail off in the startup how would you approach the issues at hand? Who would you call? What would have been that goto move you would make to get this rolling?

The reality is it appears your past and your present are not to far removed, but it would also appear that you are trying to separate the 2, and that's not being smarter. Bring the 2 ( past and present ) together and stop working harder - especially with something that should really be drop dead easy for you.
