Can I make money with WP blogs?

Ok. I know I can, but I wanted to get people to read this hopefully. I am not new to IM, but I have mostly just done PPC in the past direct to affiliate merchants.

I'm thinking of setting up my first WP blog and working on outsourcing content for it. I think I can figure out most of the technical aspects to it, but how do I know what kind of theme I should go after and learn whether I should do pages or posts, etc?

What are the specific routines I should follow for generating traffic?

Article directories? Social bookmarking? Social Network sites? Blog commenting? Submitting to link directories? How do I know the top sites to go do this?

How should I monetize? Adsense? Affiliate links? My own products? List building?

I just want to know if these ideas are on track, and the best way to approach them.

Also, do you recommend fully developing one niche before moving on to another niche? Or should you put up a lot of niches in a quicker amount of time?

    Lots of people use a blog to generate visitors to their content and then funnel them off to a money page.

    Simple step by step for generating visitors with your blog:

    - set the blog up:

    - post related content & ping the rss feed of the blog post at someplace like pingler.com

    If it's a wp blog you can copy the ping list from pingler.com and use it in your wp update function.

    You can also...

    - bookmark your posts
    - submit your posts to blog carnivals
    - submit your blog to the major blog directories via kping.com

    If you blog a whole lot and your posts are SEO'd meaning every post revolves around a keyword, title etc.

    You will begin to get lots of targeted traffic to your blog that you can monitize anyway you want.

    Try to blog at least 3-5 times a week for a month and then you can slow down to twice a week after that and if your content is decent, you be getting a steady stream of visitors to your blog.

    Find a free or inexpensive course on blogging with WP.

    But don't try to use a blog from Wordpress.com hosted by them because it will probably be deleted by them quickly.

    Yes, I will set up WP on my own hosted site using Fantasos. Any advice for a good blogging with WP course? I want to outsource content because I hate writing. What are your qualifications for a good money keyword to go after?

    By money page, do you mean like an affiliate offer? Is that all you really need to do? Or should you get articles written as well to drive traffic to your blog?

      If you ISP has Simple Script, use this v. Fantastico to install WP. The Sr. Tech guy from my ISP (Bluehost) told me he gets 10x more support issues from guys who installed WP using Fantastico v. Simple Scripts. All you gotta do is go to your cPanel and make sure Simple Scripts is an avail to install WP.

      Not to worry, I don't work for Simple Scripts, I only know from experience that Fantastico is not as good for WP installs.

    Search your niche and other niches for WP blogs and see what they are doing. Don't copy exactly but it will give you an idea of what is working and then expand on that idea.
