The Secret To Unlimited Productivity..

I don't think there is a one size fits all "secret" as such when it comes to productivity, but here are my top tips.

1. Early mornings: When you get up early, (5am) you can have a few productivity power hours as everyone else is asleep. You will have no distractions, and you will be able to solely focus on what you need to do.

2. Music: Certain music puts me right in the zone and I can complete tasks such as building websites or writing emails twice as fast as I would without the "noise". Your taste and productivity may vary, but some of my favorites are old C&C soundtracks or Final Fantasy Soundtracks.

3. Breaks: Never underestimate the effects of an intermittent break from a task. If you feel like you are spinning your wheels and just can't get to the next step. Take a break, 5 minutes can be plenty or you may need more. Stretching our legs and getting the blood flowing is very important when you're sat at your computer 12+ hours a day!

4. Stay hydrated: I struggled with this one when I first started the laptop lifestyle. You can easily see the day pass you by without eating or drinking when your head is stuck in the computer. However, with just a couple of percent decrease in water, we can see our mood and concentration drastically decrease. That's why it's so important to drink regularly.

5.Take a day off: As much as we would like to get rich as quickly as possible so we can have all our days off. It's important to recharge, reflect and recoup often. I found once a week is a good point for me. Maybe you can survive on once a month. Whatever the case, you must rest sometimes, or you will find yourself burning out and possibly not being able to recover for months, maybe even years!

So there's my 5 productivity "hacks". Add your own below...

I would add, get a good night sleep so that when you wake up bright and early when everyone else is asleep you have the energy to take advantage of it.

    My key hack - exercise.

Nothing fouses me more than working out, getting the adrenalin going, all my organs working, blood pumping, oxygenated brain etc.

I start my day with a half an hour work out before breakfast, then i do 45minutes of strength training

Rest of the time is just work.

Awesome list, thanks for sharing your experience with the forum!

I totally agree that music is one of the best ways to focus. Whenever I have to write a ton of content (or work on any websites, or any other task), music is absolutely responsible for aiding my ongoing efforts.

I am compelled to humbly contribute to your already-impressive list...

Classical Music is my probably my favorite, because it can be ambient and often there aren't any lyrics. Lyrics sometimes interfere with my flow of thoughts, which is why music without lyrics is awesome.

Also, Boards Of Canada is great ambient music if you're into "spacey" electronic type of stuff (for the most part, without any lyrics to hijack your thoughts lol). I'm resisting the urge to post videos of music, but music can a huge factor (and a source of passion and/or inspiration) if periods of focus are required in your life.

I like to work in blocks that I tend to change up, so to as I don't wander when trying to complete tasks.

Those blocks are usually in 30 or 45 min intervals.

After I finish an interval I do something fun, whether it be workout, watch some tv, or other misc. activities. Those blocks are also in 30 to 45 min intervals.
