so this is a common factor of not knowing, and help would be greatly appreciated.

so i want to build my self an affiliate site with all sorts of features.

But mostly i want it to have these features,
free membership, content tease/protection, automatic signup with aweber when registering membership.

my guess that this would work best with wordpress, correct?

i would like it so that it it can be integrated with a normal site, instead of just the web blog template.

the blog most likely will have all my content so thats all i really need protected.

ive included a little jpg to show what i want.

thanks for your help!

  • I use WishList Member...it does all that.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Wishlist Member does do all that. But it doesn't protect files/folders outside WordPress (you didn't ask for that, but it's something I want)...anybody know of something that works in conjunction with WLM for protecting digital downloads?

  • JOOMLA can do exactly this for you!

To protect your content, you'll want to install the "log in to read full text more" free plugin.

    found here:

Once you've downloaded the plugin go to "Extensions" in the joomla back-end / administrator and choose then click browse and install the "log in to read full text" plugin.

Then in the back-end of joomla go to "extensions" then find the "log in to read full text" plugin and turn the feature on.

Next... choose to redirect the customer to the login page by entering the url in the correct field of the plugin configuration.

Once turned on, write an article and in the article editor add a "read more" link after 2 - 3 lines of text. And set the article access level to "registered"

This will prevent people reading the article before signing up to your site, every time the visitor clicks read more it will take them to the sign up / login page!

Next... go to in the joomla administrator back end and select "system" then check to this will allow for automatic sign ups.

NOW... To add aweber to a Joomla site, under "Extensions" select then in the top right hand side click now select and in the editor box paste in your " Then select - and set the "position" to "Right" then click save.

Osail, Joomla takes a little getting used to but is without doubt the most powerful content management system around. And it's free.
