Another gem was discovered by Robert Cialdini, in a 2015 shareholder letter Buffett opened with "I will tell you what I would say to my family today."

That simple sentance can teach us a lot about creating rapport and influence.

He has pledged to donate 99% rather than pass it down as an inheritance. That doesn't mean it will happen.

But it sounds good to certain people.

The best takeaway from that video is, "Opportunities don't come along often. When it rains Gold, put out a bucket, not a thimble."

  Maybe I'm "stupid." Maybe I'm naïve. Or whatever ... However for me I would donate most of my earnings to worthwhile causes , Rick Warren ("The Purpose Driven Life") calls it being a "Kingdom Builder"

Is that what I think? Curious how you would know...

I'm 100% confident I know more about what motivates "super-successful People" than you could with a step-by-step tutorial. I've studied them my entire life. One thing they all have in common is the ability to influence people. Warren learned from the most famous of all, Carnegie.

There are two types of people in this world. Those who buy into "marketing" and those of us who market. Most of you fall in the former.

Charitable giving is a long-used, highly effective way of building influence and brand loyalty. These convert nicely into additional revenue and consequently, profit.

It's all about looking behind the scenes and reading between the lines. If I have an audience who have certain beliefs, I can play on those for additional profit and still come off as a good guy.

Amazon is a master of this ploy. Seth Godin also used it well on Squidoo.

I reiterate...there are two kinds of people.

Wrong. That's a "black-and white" proposition when in reality there are many shades of grey.

One of the best ways to learn about Marketing is to be a student of it and that begins by being a "Conscious Consumer." Essentially being marketed too however paying attention and leaning something from it.

You missed my point entirely, which proves :

There are two types of people in this world. Those who buy into "marketing" and those of us who market. Most of you fall in the former.

I am a very "conscious consumer," but that has nothing to do with marketing unless you were trying to reverse engineer.

I'm talking about business and charitable "giving."

You think like a buyer, I think like a seller. That's totally black and White and can rarely be changed. It's logic and reason vs emotion and impulse.

Actually I think like both: You can't be a good "Seller" without understanding (and experiencing) what it's like to by a "Buyer." They go hand-in-hand.

You're using the word, "think." You're assuming capabilities that some have never displayed. The only thing they know is intransigence and rejection of anyone else's propositions, based on narrow-mindedness and being dismissive of anything they can't understand.

Additionally, you are attempting to explain a concept that takes a fair degree of innate intelligence and open-mindedness in order to comprehend, let alone accept.

I fear to say, you have met your match. Your message is falling on deaf ears:-)

Excellent share Steve.

He made 99% of his wealth after 50. Makes me feel better at 43 LOL. In truth though the guy persisted, and had the discipline to see it through. No need to be super intelligent or clever. Just help folks, make friends, be generous, dive into your fears and persist for years in doing these things. That discipline helps you shine.

I see this with my blog, and other bloggers. Most folks just quit. They do are doing the right things with the right energy and give up after 6 months, or 2 years, surrendering to deeper fears they unearthed along the way.

See it through guys. The guy is worth $80 billion. Listen. Learn. Life flies by; use it doing something you love which helps people, and keep at it.
