Yes, looks like that thread is asking people if they like or dislike it. I am seeing if people think that the days of MLM are here to stay or going away.

The death of MLM has been predicted since the first person lost their life savings. It's a fact that a sucker is born every minute. As long as that remains a demonstrable fact, MLM won't be going anywhere.

Nothing in marketing ever dies, it just gets rebranded ,reinvented and relaunched.

Any kind of Marketing is evergreen.

I think it's thriving. With the ability to generate leads through Facebook and social media it's taking away one of the things people hated about MLM which is annoying friends and relatives. Or total strangers at the mall.

Eventually, MLM is a one on one business, but you can attract people who are already interested in a side business. You can then talk by Skype to people all over and not just locals. No more driving all over for boring house meetings.

Plus, the fact that many MLM businesses are shut down means the ones remaining are considered the legitimate ones.

Also, due to social media you can create your own brand and Facebook groups for your team. If a business does shut down you still have your team.

A lot of people start in MLM and then move on to other types of businesses. But it gives them a chance to get a start and in some cases, good marketing training.

I get it, some are lousy. But many are not. That's what a lot of people don't realize because they've only seen the worst of the industry. The people who tell you that it's going to be easy are lying whether it's MLM, internet marketing or pole dancing.

I'm more curious as to how you think a multi-billion dollar industry would die anytime soon.... in our lifetimes even, that has to do with "make more money"

as long as we are not living in a star trek world where money is irrelevant because of replicators or whatever... mlm and all variants on it, including all tools/methods/info etc related to "how to make money" will never, ever, die.

The end time of MLM is not coming near, it had long ended and many of the founders of MLM and their websites were seized by the FTC The latest was MOBE, did you hear about it?

Now-a-day, people wants something legit and real. Most are simply tired of easy money off of downlines. Being an affiliate, in the affiliate marketing industry, has it benefits you know, if the product(s) you're promoting is on the legit side of town if you know what I mean You have a legit "Online Business" that generates and creates daily revenue as a results of what we called "Residual Income", "Recurring Commissions"

Seems to come down to the leaders, Chris.

Guys like Ray Higdon seem to do it from a high energy vibe. So he attracts folks who are doing MLM for the right reasons, largely. Those rack 'em and stack 'em types are seemingly dying off, which is a good thing. The problem was not MLM per se but the unsavory types who painted the niche as a get rich quick model.

Having owned an MLM company for more than 20 years (which I sold 7 years ago) I can tell you that it's not going to die any time soon.


What Ryan said is legit. It's the unsavory characters that make it a challenge.



IM has been said to be in it's death spin 5 times in the last 10 years and yet here we are.

If you've never been a fan of it - and you don't do it....does it matter if it stays or goes?



I started online with mlm...didn't know it was supposed to be hard - never sold or tried to sell to friends or family...made money starting with the second month. I did well with it - finally quit because others in my 3000+ downline weren't doing as well and because the mlm kept changing the pay structure every 6-12 months.


Still, it was good training - good support - and good money for a while, too.


It changes - but it will be around for a long time. Some will profit from it - many won't. Isn't that true of every money making venture?

The end of MLM is not coming near yet, it got more....years to continue. More and more people joining legit MLM business. I think normal working office hours pay (9am to 5pm) is not enough to them, they are worried about retirement....

Every time I see a thread about "the death of this or that" or the end of some marketing method, I just assume the OP is trying to create controversy or a headline that spurs curiosity.


Nothing is dead as long as there are still people working the method . . . which is certainly the case with MLM.


No, I'm personally not a fan of MLM although I've never joined an MLM. I'm not a fan because I've been a "victim" of friends and neighbors taking advantage of the fact that I feel some obligation to give these people my time simply because they have asked me to do them a favor (i.e. listen to their presentation).


It's just like any marketing method. If you make money with it you tend to stick up for the approach. If it hasn't worked for you or you have decided not to try it, you tend to give it a thumbs down!

The end is nowhere in sight. The MLM industry is actually booming, and the Warrior Forum itself is a recruiting bonanza for many MLMers here.

But to answer the question...Naw, it's not dead. Not even close.


There is a guy advertising on the radio, an alleged millionaire/entrepreneur who researched the most popular businesses and bought the best one. In case you haven't heard the ad, it's the infamous "Mr. X". Out of pure curiosity, I explored further, and it seems to be an offer to get involved with Shaklee...which is an MLM.


Even internet marketing has come up with its own form of MLM. (I could name a couple I was involved with early on, but don't want to argue over whether they're MLMs or not, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions .) And many traditional MLMs are just taking it online in order to expand their reach.

With all the social media and advertising opportunities available on the internet MLM is thriving and evolving, far from dying. Go check out all the Legacy MLM Companies still going stronger than ever. Before MLM was a word of mouth business now its reach is limitless.

Guess this will be never end, MLM existed because we are all human being, and all of us know we need money, more and more! We choose to believe what we wanna hear from all these MLM and people are buying for hope. Like it or not, we have to accept the reality.

MLM is alive and well in the USA and the rest of the world. It's bigger than many other industries. It's far from perfect, but it's still great.

It will keep evolving, but I don't see it going away anytime soon. After all, what's more powerful than word of mouth selling?

If anything, I think you will see more and more industries adopt the MLM structure. Look at how many affiliate programs are now multi-tier programs? I assume this will continue to grow in the years ahead.

If you are talking about internet marketing programs especially those that charged people a lot of money with little or no regards for their well-being, yes.

But if you are talking about health supplements like Nuskin and Jeunnese, the answer is no.

Because health supplements - as compared with internet marketing courses - has a much higher perceived value since most people will spend more time to live longer and healthier to getting richer.

Given their past bad experiences with not just MOBE and Digital Attitude but other programs as well.

I have a biased opinion, but I do think that MLM will be around and continue to reinvent itself. The advantages of MLM is that we are "forced" to team up and work together in team in order to increase our earnings.

That's the big difference with standalone affiliate marketing. With MLM we have to work as a team in order for the whole group to pump un those earnings.

As long as humans operate based on fear and greed, MLM and other similar concepts won't go anywhere unless outlawed.
