Some will say affiliate marketing is where it's at, others will say ecommerce, and yet others will say CPA etc...

But where's it really at?

I'm sure there will be an answer here like "it's subjective." Fair enough. But I want to hear from a battle tested entrepreneur who has done it all. What is your take?

    What is your take?
You are still trying to get someone else to hand you the "secret."

IT is at: where you are + what you are doing. IT is the intersection of FOCUSED activity, which since early Nov. of last year, you seem to be missing...

    and MEANINGFUL ADJUSTMENT.

FOCUSED ACTIVITY + Meaningful Adjustment = where IT is at.

How many ideas have you come up with, sites you have, youtube channels, from cashing in on living in Orlando, to now, a very bad idea of liquid supplements, Man you are all over the place.

The reason why SOME will say IT is this, and other's will say IT is that, or whatever, because they have stayed with something long enough to have it bear fruit.

IT is at control. IT begins with controlling your mind, your thoughts, and developing a focus on what you want and WHY you want it.

Then, once you have an idea of what IT is, you develop a PLAN OF ACTION to take you there.

Then, while still CONTROLLING your thoughts, you take ACTION, and you ADJUST your action while solving your problems in the direction of your goals.

You want more money, as your past posts indicate, yet, you've burned through 10 MONTHS of time, jumping around from this to that and asking questions here.

Anyone, anyone...could begin to bring in a decent income in 10 months, as long as they FOCUS on doing the one thing, whatever IT is, and stay the course.

TEN frickin months of time. At least you're not yet one of those 3 years of struggles warriors with no results guys, but keep it up, another 2 years 2 months, you'll get there.

It is sad to see someone with your talent waste so much of his time, when the IT you seek is where you are at with what you have.

If I could even draw a tenth of the cartoons as good as you can, I'd be the next Charles Schulz.

You're mostly right. That is my problem, and I should know. I am diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, and finding it hard to stick to something is one of the very definitions.

I do, however, feel the liquid supplement idea is a good one. It's extremely effective. No one can copy my formula. It is nearly free for me to manufacture (the only costs would be bottle/label/liability insurance).

Bottle, label, liability insurance, licenses, shipping, returns, breakage. First thing, check with your insurance and SEE how much liability insurance will cost you for a consumable you make in your home.

But you did leave off the BIGGEST expense of all, Customer Acquisition. It may cost you 90 cents to get a dollar sale.

Who is going to buy it? That is going to be your biggest expense, even those guys selling enhanced water, or Willard Water, or spring water need distribution. If you have trouble staying focused, then what steps will you take on this liquid supplement idea?

Do you know why Gary Halbert wrote the BORON LETTERS? He had some time on his hands, in federal pen. Drop the ball on your business, because you got distracted, or couldn't keep focused...maybe you can write a best seller too.

Bad idea. Really. Why not test it locally first? See if there is an actual demand for it?

I think you fall in love with ideas, and then it ain't long, for whatever excuse you have, to fall out of love with it.

Where it's "at" for me is not where it's at for anyone else.

We all have our own skill sets, our own interests, and our own abilities.

Some people have large budgets and others are cracking open their piggy banks and digging for change in the sofa.

A few people have endless amounts of time because they've been laid off from their job and can't find another one. Others are trying to squeeze in an extra hour or two after they've worked all day, cooked dinner, and helped their children with their homework.

Some peopel have grown up speaking English and for others it's their third or fourth language.

They all will take different paths due to their current situations and willingness to break out of their comfort zone. Some people thrive on risk and others would lay awake at night in misery.

I doubt anyone here has "done it all". And even if they have, what they found success in is not what might work for you.

You'll do better to find something, anything, that you are truly interested in learning and think you can master. Then ask specific questions about that method.

No one can answer your question in a way that will be helpful to you.

    "Where it's at" is this:

Choosing to do something that will bring you income, focusing your effort and time on getting good at it, then consistently applying work over and over again to get better and better results.

It's really pretty simple and has been this way since the beginning.

What doesn't get you anywhere is assuming what works for someone else will work for you. IM is never one-size-fits all and you will never duplicate another's results.

    But where's it really at?

In your passion and skill and persistent practice and service. Simple, LDB

Example; IT is blogging for me. Specifically Blogging From Paradise. I love blogging. So after dedicating 10 years to blogging, and 4 years to BFP, IT is blogging for me. Personal choice. Intimate choice. Not depending at all on niche but 100% on an IMers full dedication to loving, practicing and mastering the niche.

IT is within each human. Not without.

Where it's at is in the marketing. If you want to make money online in whatever niche, learn how to market anything successfully. This way if your income anywhere online stops, you know how to start all over again using a different business model... or niche... and start building back up that income again. Become a great marketer. Go down the marketing rabbit hole. You are in the "marketing" business.

There's still A LOT of money to be made in business sectors related to your day job. Lawyers, doctors, all kinds of professionals tell me they see so many opportunities to make BIG money in their sectors.

I did the same when I wrote some niche software related to my IT job. It was so specialised I only had 2 competitors - one wasn't that good the other one was seriously expensive.

  • This seemed complex but you can always simplify this question by asking: Where is your passion at? What are your skills? What do you like to pursue and develop overtime? Starting with what you like to do is enough answer to how you can make successful at business (whatever it is that you like to pursue). Yes, some would still leave confused here but this is where proper information comes in, which you should also work on. Aside from knowing what you like to pursue, also spend time researching about your passion and how you can make money from it. I cannot guarantee that you can make money from your passion but if you spend time on research, you will soon realize if pursuing your passion is worth the investment. If not, then you can always refer to the things you have learned through research. I am sure you have picked out new ideas that interest you.
