Microblogging in CPA/affiliate marketing perspective

I would like to know what are the views of WF community on microblogging. As per Wikipedia "A microblog differs from a traditional blog in that its content is typically smaller in both actual and aggregated file size".
Would be great if you could advice on:
(1) Are there any benefits of microblogging in CPA/affiliate marketing?
(2) How microblogging can be utilized in CPA/affiliate marketing?
(3) What tools can be used for microblogging to be incorporated in webpage or otherwise?
