Last night someone bought my paperback. He snapped a selfie of him holding the paperback as it just arrived in the mail. He noted how he bought it and how he'd be blogging in paradise too, and then he tagged me on Facebook.

He did this stuff because we have a bond. We built a relationship over time.

Impossible to build bonds with people and to form genuine relationships if you focus on numbers over people, because 99% of the time you fail using this tact, or 1% of the time you become really good at making numbers grow by manipulating people. Of course, this 1% crowd are folks who, when you Google their name, see the #1 or #2 result as "(Insert Name Here) Scam" LOL!

Have fun learning your craft, helping folks and building friendships. The Facebook selfie endorsement netted me a paperback royalty profit now, then increases my paperback and eBook profits in the future through the power of endorsement. Friendships prosper you near and long term, and forever, if you keep helping folks.

Exactly - on the question of how...

1. Decide on a market upon which to focus...
2. Know who they are, what they want, their desires and frustrations...mistake #1 is not taking the time to uncover WHO your market really is from their perspective and mistake #2 is someone who has already had experience in the market taking this for granted (Ex I had a personal trainer with more than 20-years experience at local business ask how he could move his business online - he was making all kinds of incorrect assumptions on what his market wanted to see from him both in terms of content and products)
3. Take the time to build relationships through content - the engagement you eventually achieve will give you tremendous advantage in your marketplace over time...that's how you ultimately compete in very competitive markets
4. Work closely with your top engagement people first...find out what you can do for them, at first it may be free, or it may be joint engagement or you may just find something you can help them with for $ up-front...in any case your goal is to help them FIRST...then turn that into a repeatable business model that scales (service, digital product, coaching, etc..)
