No, it's still a viable niche and probably growing. Check the Clickbank marketplace and do some Google/Bing searching. Survival Frog sells a lot of gear and has a good reputation. And there are a plenty of guides that sell fairly well.

The niche has potential RP based on your passion If you love it, the millions of survivalist fans dipping their toes into the lifestyle or the hundreds of thousands of dyed in the wool, real deal outdoors folks living off da land have access to the internet, and love buying products. But your love needs to mirror their passion buddy, because the niche is as effective for you, and prospering, as the amount of attention and energy you devote toward creating helpful content in the niche and building strong bonds with top folks in the niche.

How much do you know about the niche? It's not a niche where you can write a few general articles and expect to develop a following. Some of the 'players' are really impressive in that niche.

You might want to focus more on the "Prepper" niche. People tend to link them together. For the prepper niche you will have a much larger audience

It's an interesting niche. I wouldn't count myself as a survivalist but I have a go-bag, as does every member of my family. That's four people. I don't know how much I have spent and continue to spend on our go-bags but I do know it's an ongoing thing. There must be thousands or even millions of people like me who don't exactly count themselves in this niche, but want to be prepared. The scarier times are getting, the more people want to be prepared. So I say go for it. It is definitely something I have considered getting into more than once.

I'm not a "survivalist" or "prepper" but I spend a lot of time in the wilderness. This is where I buy most of my gear: https://www.budk.com/Camping---Survival-2967

Bud started out in his garage. I used to get his paper mail-order catalog way back when. The site is a good one to study and get on the mailing list to see how that works.

This is also a growing market in the mainstream population sparked by the increase in widely publicized natural disasters, social unrest, and lingering economic uncertainty.

The market for "survival" and "prepper" related information and gear is much like any other marketplace in this regard: you have to differentiate your business from others in the same market so that you stand out and can serve an audience with authority and credibility. People interested in the niche are looking for experts who can answer their questions and suggest solutions to their problems.

Are you that authority? Are you an expert in the niche? If not, position your business so you can learn as you go.

I will tell you in advance that merely recommending affiliate products to this group will not make you much money and it will be a constant struggle. This audience want's a credible authority in the industry to follow - someone they can trust to lead them through the difficult landscape of today's growing world tensions.
