Have you made a fortune ?

I think that it is misleading and dishonest to ask another marketer or to suggest that you can make them a fortune and you have not done it.

Money is replacable but reputstions aren't ,it can take years to establish yourself but you can lose your reputation over night.

Let go of the hype ,people have been scamned and left with empty bank accounts at no fault of yours but you should be sensitive to these situations and be truthful and forthcoming.

People do talk, people do search so people can do a spot check on you to see if you have the credentials.

If you have made sales on line speak about it with your prospect and if you haven't it is not a big deal to say yes wbrn asked.

You might not see the benefit of it now but over the long haul people you will gain trust.

When you have the trust of your prospects you have an intangible asset.

Put together a good sales pitch yes but make sure that you do it in good faith.

I am online to make money too but I understand the concept of the build up to what is going to hep me make the sale.

Trust is in short supply, but unfortunately a lot of people are blinded by income claims and don't think about the reality.

They just see the potential. That's why people play the lottery knowing there's almost zero chance of winning.

Why do people buy lottery tickets? Why do they buy get rich quick nonsense?

Because it gives them permission to dream about the life they want, while feeling like they're doing something.

A lot of people don't want to take responsibility for themselves, it's easier to *wait* for something or someone else to magically appear and fix everything.

A few weeks ago I was chatting with a friend who's (kinda) into IM... I offered to personally work with him and show him the ropes. He talks about it a lot, and can name a whole heap of guru's I've never heard of.

But when it REALLY came down to it, to knuckling down and doing the work, guess what he decided to do instead?

He spent the time gambling online, in the hope he'd win the money instead.

    People want the easy route.

    Income claims play into that.

It's a pity that income claims work, but they do.

And as long as they work, marketers are gonna use them. Rightly or wrongly.

They sure will use income claims which is ok to me ,as long as they have made the income and speak about the work that it took to get to that point. On the flip side you can attract those get rich today people so one must be aware of how and when to use income claims . Do you agree ,

And just how do you verify that in a way that anyone can't fake?

I can show you via six different methods that I made $5M, last year.

You are absolutely right about that. There are cases where people have legit income claims as well as fake ones.I don't think that it is going to stop any time soon so the onus is on the buyer to do some research about the person.

It won't stop, no matter how much we talk about it. The bottom line is that some people are making money, and some aren't - and this will always be the bottom line, no matter how much we discuss it.

Yes I hear you, I think - this trust is more about building trust than making money, right?

I think most people in sales will tell you building trust is a key aspect to making the sale.

All businesses go through the typical "growing pains" regardless of the size of the company. Your business is in development, your customer base is prospering, the popularity of your product is increasing, everything seems to be going well. But there are two big problems that can stop that explosion of positive development: lack of talent and too much demand.

To keep up with the demand, you will eventually have to hire more employees. At the same time, competition for talent has never been so fierce. There is incredible pressure for today's companies to hire as many people as possible as fast as they can to block potential customers before anyone else visits them.

When you think about it, there are probably thousands and thousands of different ways to earn money online. And in some countries, $500/month is a true fortune. So it is not all that rare to be able to "technically" make a fortune online.

To my way of thinking . . . what's important to most people seeking to make income online is that the seller is honest and forthright.

Many people automatically dismiss income claims. They are too easy to lie about because they are difficult to track and verify. In addition, some crafty marketers speak the technical truth - but often have to use "weasel words" to soften their claims ("you could make $657.48/day") (or . . . "anyone can do this" . . . {fine print} if you have $27,000 to invest up front).

If marketers were honest and forthright about a product or service (and their own income from using it) the MMO marketplace would look a lot different. Being forthright means you hold nothing back and you don't conveniently leave out important details, cautions, or negative facts.

As others have said, I don't know how to rid the marketing landscape of lies, half-truths, and misleading claims. I feel you should trust your seller and seek out honest and reputable people with whom you are comfortable doing business.

Building a Fortune is not the only way to position oneself.

It's not true "fake it til you make it".

You can position yourself as a entrepeneur who escape the daily job but not make a fortune, just living and is in the path to escalate it.
