Is it possible to monetize a website meant for programmers or people in a related field

Please pardon me for asking these questions.

I am very new to internet marketing and planning to start with blogging. I am a devops engineer looking to earn some extra cash on the side with what I know. I am planning to create a blog meant for information in the devops field.

My questions are:
1. What should I focus on for now to grow the blog?
2. At what stage can I say I can monetize the blog?
3. What are the possible ways to monetize a blog meant for people in the IT industry?
4. Overall, is that niche a good idea?

yes it is a good idea. You only need 1 website or 1 blog and above all you need to have a person seo website to the top google

    A few thoughts:
    1. Focus on market research first. Learn what your target audience wants, needs, desires and will purchase. Learn where the competition is and what they offer. Look for "gaps" or holes in the marketplace that you might fill. The idea is to offer something that is in good demand but not being fulfilled by the competition. Start with a WordPress blog on your dot com domain and put some original, unique content on it that programmers will recognize as valuable. Put a free offer out in exchange for a sign-up to your email list (best to write a report or something of great value - but it doesn't have to be long - just 2-5 pages). You can do this in a couple of days.
    2. You can begin monetizing at any time but don't "hard sell" anything. Make recommendations and suggestions based on your knowledge and experience. "Nurture" you subscribers along with mostly original and valuable free content.
    3. You're going to have to answer this question as you're the expert in the niche. This is one of the reasons you need to start with market research so you can identify what products, information, training, etc is in demand in the niche. Visit forums, FB groups, top ranking web sites, authority blogs, and other niche sites to see what is selling and what needs are going unmet. As in any niche, it's not just products that sell. You might decide to start a paid membership site, an affiliate review and sales site, a paid newsletter or magazine, a course or training site, an authority blog site where you get paid by advertisers in the niche . . . or some other specialized business model in your niche. Possibilities are many!
    4. There is room in every niche for new "in demand" products and services. Sometimes new businesses thrive based on giving excellent service, a better product than is currently available, or even just a new angle on an old problem. But it's crucial that you understand the "demand" that's already in your marketplace because trying to create demand is an expensive, long term approach that typically doesn't work well. Apple, Microsoft, and Google can do it . . . you probably can't.
Most folks here don't understand the IT and programmer marketplace so be careful about depending too much on random people's advice. I've tried to give you a high-level view of how to get started in any niche.

    The very best to you,

    Steve

Try to know first what your targetted audience need, try then to post threads that will be helpful for them, build a lot of engagement, and avoid scamming. You will surely know at the right time how to monetize it, using the traffic you will be generating!
