What are you getting to? Are you selling a training course on presentation skills?

Being able to make presentations (speeches even) is a valuable skill, don't most know that? One Ted talk can greatly enhance a career.

Also, TOASTMASTERS still works too for learning presentation skills. My best advice is to start there, with a local Toastmasters group, and get the practice.

A training course can be valuable of course, depending on who does it. Especially if practice is part of it, I doubt the efficacy of most online training. A presenter needs to practice in front of a group or at least in front of her mentor.

Why 5? What is it about presentation you want to discuss?

5 is enough to write an article titled:
Presentation Skills Courses: 5 Skills You'll Master That Will Change Your Life

that you can sell to someone on Fiverr for 5.

Plus, 5 next to 5 next to 5 as above, gives you magical powers.

Every time I see one of these, I think someone's writing a paper for some website or an article they sell to some SEO wannabe on Fiverr.

      Am I too jaded?

Increased confidence is about the best skill to develop A. Most humans feel terrified to speak in public. Said confidence is something you carry with you to all types of online and offline situations.

To my way of thinking, simply naming a personal presentation skill and giving an explanation of what it is, really misses the mark. Overviews and summaries are fine, but they will not effectively teach new skills. A single course about presentations skills would be so broad it would most likely be of little teaching value because of the need to cover all the various aspects of great presentation.

IMO, it's comparable to courses on Internet Marketing. I have been through a number of them and they try to teach too much because there is just so much to IM, i.e. they are too broad. It's much more helpful to take a course on individual sub topics like conversion, affiliate promotion, traffic generation, copywriting, list building, and on and on.

Presentation skills is a broad field and its sub topics like public speaking, graphic arts, videography, etc all deserve their own training. Cramming everything necessary into one overall course is not the best approach, IMO.

    Good luck on your project,
