Brands started contacting me for collaboration on Instagram. How much should I charge?

My personal IG accounts started booming and now brands are starting to contact me for collaboration.

I'd like to hear your thoughts as to

1. The number of brands per category should I accept and work with
2. How much should I charge per post if not commission based
3. How often can I post sponsored posts?
4. How many clothing brands is safe enough to promote?
Should I stick to only one brand, for clothing for example?

I already have 4 advertisers that I approved last month, August and we'll start the promotion this month.

5 more brands I am still considering because their products are almost the same with the first 4 I already approved. I am afraid there'd conflict between brands if i do so and am also worried about how I will look on the eyes of my followers if I promote several shoe brands, for example.

Your opinion would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

I'm by no means an Instagram expert. But, my company does work with Instagram influencers to promote our brand. I can tell you that influencers that are promoting several other brands are a no-go for us.

We don't necessarily look for an enormous number of followers either. We look for people who have genuine connections with their audience and a high interaction rate.

How many followers do you have? Average number of likes and comments? What is your ratio of genuine to sponsored content? Typically interaction rates are lower when there is a high volume of sponsored content.

In my opinion, you're better off working with 1-2 brands who have good influencer programs. If the brand has a good influencer program, they'll work to promote you as you promote their product. So, the brand will help increase your reach while you promote their products. It's a more genuine way to market and grow a brands reach as opposed to just paying $100 for a sponsored post to someone who doesn't care about your brand at all. And it's a better way for you to make long-term income while building a better asset (a targeted following).

Hi Gabino, thank you so much for your opinion. I greatly appreciate it. Theyre very helpful.

I want to hear what you will have to say about choosing between a more popular brand than a less popular one but with better ambassador programs and higher commissions?

In my opinion, it really depends on your Instagram, your followers wants/likes and your personal wants/likes. It also depends on the the companies ability to convert the leads you're sending them into sales (and to track it properly).

Unfortunately, it's impossible to recommend what offer(s) I'd take without knowing the Instagram account and the offers.

But personally, I tend to lean toward start-ups more than establishes brands. I just like the potential of start ups and the idea of building something. But, you have to choose the companies that offer products that you believe and would use even if they weren't provided for free or you weren't paid to recommend. It'd be tough to advertise products that you don't like or use personally.
