In my opinion, not worth $800, or $80 - and $8 would be a stretch unless you have a specific site/product in mind for it.

    Domain: snagpuff.com

    Registrar: NameCheap Inc.

    Registration Date: 2018-06-22

    Expiration Date: 2019-06-22

No site on domain - no history in archives for that domain....the main 'selling point' seems to be 'only 8 letters'.

I'm not a domaining expert - there could be some magic info there that I'm not seeing....but I doubt it.

I'd take a pass if I were you.

It really depends. What are you going to do with it? And what advantages does this domain give you for $800?

I'm with Kay on this one. I don't see any value in it. What is a 'snagpuff'?

With that said, I'm sure half the people outside of the industry I'm in wouldn't have immediately understood the domain name or the vision I had when I bought the domain for four figures.

So, in my opinion, it all comes down to your plan and the advantages you see from having the domain.

If there's no site and it's just a domain name, I wouldn't pay the standard $8 for it, never mind $800.

Not worth it. Even if they have a large number of daily visitors and even if you can target them for a specific marketing campaign, the ROI is so low and not worth the risk.

What is so great about snag puff? What are you going to use it for? If you really want it wait it out till the owner forgets about it then buy it for ten bucks. Unless the website is already built and making income you should not be paying $800.

You don't happen to be the one selling this junk domain, do you? Maybe looking to get eyes on it? Because I can't think of any other value in this.

Mr Fred Snagpuff might beg to differ.

Of course! The OP is selling the domain themselves. This is the only thing that makes sense!

I see you bought catnip on Ebay too. Been sniffing it yourself? lol!

Are you considering buying because you're looking for a business name?

Puff in the UK is slang for homosexual, so if you have a gay dating website then maybe, but I still wouldn't pay $800 for it. I would find a better and cheaper domain name.

If you have a totally different type of business, there still must be a better name.

You can go to many sites that will valuate a domain and the value can go from zero-unlimited.

If your main objective in life is snagging a puff... or selling to people who really want to snag a puff, then go for it!

Seriously though, why would you pay that much money for a nonsense domain name? Even when a sensible domain name costs more than $20 I still have a good enough imagination to come up with an original alternative that only costs $10.

I'd only ever spend more if I had a biz or product name that someone else had the domain for.

As far as I know Snagpuffs aren't set to be the number one selling product this Christmas. In fact the only place Snagpuff is listed on Google is the domain company and this thread!

Walk away. The seller is deluded.

Even if they have a large number of daily visitors ...
Can you explain how a new domain registered less than TWO months ago with no site, etc - has ANY VISITORS AT ALL???

My guess is this is a new 'domainer' who has decided he's brilliant at 'finding domains' (we see that here quite often).....registered with name cheap and then used Godaddy's ridiculous "value estimate" to set a price hoping a sucker will pay.

....or, as umc mentioned - the OP is the 'new domainer'...

My second guess is that this thread will grow to 2-3 pages as there is no wrong answer so repetition will be the name or the game.

It's not worth it and not sure really what it conveys... Sure it is relatively short but most folks are arriving at your site through a marketing campaign link which if they love your stuff, will bookmark.

All that matters is what you do with the site. If SnagPuff means something to your target market, then maybe it's worth the investment. But if it's just some inane word combo you like, why not come up with your own and register it for 99 cents?

    PuffSnag.com is currently available!

That domain appraiser seems useless. It's just looking at similar sounding domains that have sold and doesn't account for traffic, which is more important.

    Cheers,
    Colm

I just checked...SnapPuff.com is available and it's $10.98 on NameCheap. Is there a specific reason SnagPuff.com is worth $789.02 more than SnapPuff.com?

I was skeptical but willing to give the OP the benefit of the doubt.

Now, I think it's safe to say the OP attempted to advertise their bad, overpriced domain on this forum and it backfired. It's been over a day and a half and the OP has not returned to this thread.

Are the mods going to shut this thread down?

I think the Mods should leave thread up this way others who come on here and try advertising a domain they have for sale will read this thread and realize we're not as gullible as one may think and that the majority of members on this forum are educated in the spamming dept.LOL!

Spampuff.com is available for $2.99 if I buy for 2 years think I'll grab it!

Problem is, this is the type of thread that is going to be 7 pages long without any value but endlessly bumped as signature spammers will see how many views this thread gets and continue to add to it. :/

Plus, I bought a domain that GoDaddy values at almost $1,000 less than I paid for it and this thread is a constant reminder than I am stoopid.

By the way, my new 6 letter domain (no site, just a word I like) is worth over $1k on GoDaddy. Man, can I pick 'em or what?

Good, but I think Kurt still has you beat. GoDaddy values his SnapPuff at $1,216.

    This is easy money.

I went to GoDaddy to check-out some of my unused domain names. The 3 that I searched came back that they believe they can get me to sell any of the 3 for $69.99. Talk about pulling a number out of your butt.

    The names are:

    UnicornPoo.com
    FizzyDouche.com
    OyBay.com

Dem people be dreamin'. I've been offered $2k for OyBay.com and would never sell it for twice that. It's a classic and reserved for my last earthly project - whatever that may be.

Admit it. You couldn't forget that name, if you tried. :-)

$250 is nothing for this domain. The real money is to add an info product to this domain that lets you make money without any work or knowledge. A complete fool-proof, push button system. Like, you just buy it and a check shows up in your mailbox every day.
