$30k a month in 15 minutes a day blogging

I just saw a sales page by a respected marketer that says you can make $30k a month in 15 minutes a day blogging. And you can do it in just 6 months using free traffic.

Honestly, I don't really spend much time blogging these days and I certainly don't make most of my money from it. But before I blow this off completely as BS, I'd figured I'd ask successful bloggers here. Do you think this is possible? Please enlighten us.

I believe it can be done, but not in 15 minutes a day. If it's possible, please tell us - what you would do in that 15 minutes each day to make it happen?

Now that is a little more realistic compared to $30k a month in 15 minutes a day

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Yes, and this does not say you are just making these funds on one blog - did it?

You can easily bring in a hundred a day on a blog and just make 30 of those. But you'd have to outsource to keep up the maintenance.

Or, you need to build them and flip them like mad.

Well I saw this too but did not actually read it. I'm guessing its about CPA through that network. its possible but you are need to be spending a crapload on PPC and manage your campaigns throughout the day. I do a fair amount of CPA both from an article marketing perspective and from PPC and while I do quite okay from this I spend more than 15 minutes a day managing it.

I would not buy it personally, but I don't subscribe to what the same marketer said was an impossible task of getting into CPA networks. I get in all the CPA networks I want to be in and I'm not part of the good ole boys club.

  • A clear example of yet another overly hyped IM product that claims what's simply impossible to achieve.

Scroll down the website and you'll see a photo that reads "me and my supermodel girlfriend on holidays at the Bahamas". That in itself made me stop reading. Seriously, that crap (along with photos of Ferraris, flying dollar bills and lux villas) is so 2004! Now a days this market is more sophisticate.

No wonder IM gets bad press

I totally agree with you! I'm so sick of seeing stuff like that. I remember seeing two separate products from the same marketer and that "luxurious life" section of his sales page was identical in each page for the separate products. Anyways, good observation!

Just a side thought here, but I like the idea of sales pages being interlaced with some actual content and examples or product demonstration or "sneak previews." Something that lends itself to becoming more transparent with your customers, therefore, gaining more trust and more sales and happy customers

Instead of simply parking domains names (whilst awaiting sales - nothing more) we have created around 200 autoblogs. Literally set and forget ones that pitch affiliate products.

They're not even part of our business model nor is the income considered in our main accounting - just petty cash beer and lunch money - but even these make over £10K per month, which I guess converted to dollars would be around $16K.

I guess if we added some more or a couple of our developers messed around with them for an hour or so a week they'd make more, but it's just not cost effective for us.

So yeah, Ron. I think it is a pretty easy target.

I've never really done blogging for profit before but it's something I'm considering. So your 200 or so blogs are auto-blogging and that's it? No promotion?

      Thanks,
      Adam

Nope. I don't get involved in the day to day nonsense but as far as I know no time is expended at all apart from the initial set up...and there better not be or there'll be trouble!

As far as I know the income is used basically for Friday night beers, other essential jollies and one of the offshore places is out in the sticks so every employee gets some cash in an envelope every week for travel and lunch is brought in every day.

That's pretty cool, do you think something like this would work on free blog sites like blogger.com? Not that getting domains is a problem. I'm just lazy.

Like I said Adam, I don't get involved in the day to day or technical stuff and I don't really know enough about Blogger to give you a definitive yes or know, but I guess (haha based on stuff I picked up on the WF) if it's a blog, allows automated drip feed type posting and you can set up your pingers(?) I don't see why not.

However, I know Griz uses Blogger sites to rake it in using Adsense, so I presume if he added some affiliate promotions he'd probably make a lot more...

            OK, to you and Adam;

I got the idea for the autoblogs from Keith and simply got some of my developers to build some. Keith made a post detailing a step by step model of how to build them some time ago here it is..

Dude, I have been blogging my ass off from the last 9 months and I haven't seen that kind of money and the 15 minutes thing is totally wrong. I don't think you can even come up with a useful post in 15 minutes. It can be a 500 word blog post but it won't be useful.

One way it can be possible is that you are really passionate and serious about it and you have the right tools and information and you don't waste your time doing the stuff newbies do all the times and they finally realize that's not what they should've been doing.

My main traffic source is Google but the problem is that my blog just dropped from PR3 to No PR.

Now my page is indexed but it's not get me any traffic so I just dropped the plan right now. I am just thinking of getting a .com domain and then transferring my blog to a self hosted blog. I know I will have to do all the link building and stuff once again but I think I don't have a choice.

But then I also respect them for their choice... ME. ;-) But I also respect their other choices. If they say NO to me... O.K.

Here's the thing- I feel it doesn't matter if call them a chick or a lady... It's about what I feel for them. And how I love making them smile... How I love it when they laugh for me- with me or without me.

Gawwd I love that. Been trying to figure out a way to have so much fun that she'd literally end up in tears laughing.

Its not about planning and bowling her over with that... I am not a salesperson here. I am THE hot stuff. I shop around and look for girls that I can get along with and have fun while they can do the same. I want them to be interested in me- and I am surprised to see how many really are!!!

Do I buy them anything? Yes. But its what I think I would like them to have. Not something they'd be interested in- in most cases anyway. If I see a beautiful necklace which I'd like Jane to wear, I'd simply get it for her. Plain and simple. And no- I do not always comply with their demands (or I'd be broke lol)... reasonable or unreasonable.

Finally, I'm single- yes. But by choice. There are four girls, however, who'd be particularly upset at this sentence. LOL.

Alright... That's my game. And I will stop now!

But I'd love to talk to you one of these days... you game?
                  -Lakshay

P.S. Can you speed up your next 99 posts? Would it make a difference if I said PLEASE? Would it make a difference if I said you look like someone nice... someone who's name I forget at the moment but I really admire?

Alright then, let it make a difference. ;-)

It's funny you should say that Rich...

On Sunday, I had a PM chat with a very esteemed Warrior - someone I and most others admire greatly. He talked about the notion of "paying it forward."

                  This got me thinking...

Then I noticed the fact that despite my best efforts to avoid it, my post count appears to be accelerating, quite disturbingly, towards the dreaded 1000 posts "celebration."

I've been a Warrior (on and off) since about 2004 I think. I spent most of my early time here reading, learning, adapting and implementing. It's easy to throw numbers around, particularly on a web forum like this, but the things I've learnt here have been *directly responsible* for millions of pounds of income. There are too many people to thank and I seriously owe them a debt of gratitude. Although maybe too late for paying it forward, I think that giving something valuable back to this place is more appropriate in my case.

As such, I've decided to share my complete business model with everyone for my 1000th post. I've even started planning the document out.

What I have built and what it does is *completely* unique. Of course, there are many of the tried and tested tactics but they are used to profit from a business model that is so simple yet totally one of a kind. Even if the whole world knew about it. Few would be able to replicate it in its entirety. Even if they did, they wouldn't even be competition for me. Nor I for them. Not really. However, there is so much that the astute would be able to take away from what I do and create something for themselves. And I'd be delighted if they did.

The whole thing is built on leverage in one way or another. As you'll see when you read it.

I'm no writer, as my "effort" in Allen's recent competition clearly showed - as did some of the comments by many of the great guys in the copywriting forum - but I'll give you a sneak peak by revealing my work in progress title for the document...

"How I consistently make multiple 7 figures per month online, most of it tax free, whilst travelling the world, cocking around and generally having tons of fun without ever having created a product, without the sanity sapping slog of building a list, without the tedium and the toil of talking to a single intolerable customer, or even wasting my time whiling away hours and days making a single website."

This is not a joke. Look out for my 1000th post.

    Yes, it is possible.

I do know of a few bloggers that are doing that (and more), specifically from blogging (and promoting other products), but this is more the exception rather than the rule. But it took them 3-4 years to build a system up to the point where they could afford to do that. (They put all the other pieces together/promoting other products, etc -- now they just need to maintain it with probably an 'average' of 15 minutes/day).

But realistically speaking -- if this individual is *only* writing an article a day (say 15 minutes), not doing any other promotion other than organic, then his claim is not realistic. More realistic would be anywhere from $100-$500/month only using free traffic methods, and spending max 15 minutes/day.

I believe it can be done, but not in 15 minutes a day. If it's possible, please tell us - what you would do in that 15 minutes each day to make it happen?

Ron, if you just skim through the WSO section, you will find a lot of unbelievable, hypey and B.S. claims being made. There are some very strong words like 'Guaranteed Income' used in some of these WSOs. Everytime I see those titles, I can only scratch my head.

Yeah, I found the sales page too - nice sales page, but obviously hyped.

15 mins/day would take a huge amount of startup time to get running on autopilot to the point where you could just maintain something 15 mins/day.

Could but there are many factors. I think the big one is this. While 6 months after you might only have to spend 15 min a day. However those 6 months leading up to it I would imagine a few hours a day. Until you get your methods down pat. If you can optimize your blog post for certain keywords and get them ranked on the first page. Then that's thousands of free visitors a month. Which if they subscribe to your blog turn into repeat visitors and repeat buyers. Many factors and much to learn until you get the system down pat that you can do it in 15 min a day.

Why does he bother selling his course or ideas if he can truly make $30k in 15 minutes a day blogging.

Just think what he could make if he did it full time !

I'm getting emails on this too by marketers.

Trust me..it is a sheer "you email for me, and I'll email for you" promotion. It has nothing to do with the quality of the product, but the size of the list.

My advice back to these marketers is, and always is: "protect your list from hypey products." It only hurts your integrity with your list.

What happens is that these marketers lose integrity, and the customers end up coming to me for real value. So, I benefit greatly.

Thus, keep on emailing these type of products...lol.

    This is funny.

There are so many people making negative skeptical comments based purely on the fact that they don't believe this is possible.

The reality is - YES it IS possible.

Sure, there's a lot of BS around - and maybe the product the OP refers to is among them, but that's nothing to do with whether it's possible or not.

I've run WSOs here in the past showing exactly how to do this - and yet here we are with people saying it's not possible again.

Of course you can do this in 15 minutes a day - how long does it take to set up a blog? not even 15 minutes - then what about the other 364 days of the year?

There are an unlimited number of ways to do things online and there are thousands of tools, scripts and resources for helping many of those ways get faster and easier.

Anyone who's posting here saying its impossible obviously just doesn't understand scale and leverage.

Please - don't say such crazy things when it's been proved time and time again that such things ARE possible.

Just because YOU haven't done it or don't know how.

15 minutes is enough time to get a lot done.

If you started with 50 articles and the right tools, you could have 100 blogs setup being drip-fed your articles and content from 5 other places, and set up for the next year, being automatically pinged, bookmarked, tweeted, posted to Facebook etc....

THEN you could also do some promotion with the other 364 days of the year.

    This isn't hard.

It's not the right model for everyone - but don't trash it just because you don't do it.

    Hey Warriors,

While there is a great chance that the product that got this thread started is full of hype, I don't think the numbers are too far off...

I have a single blog that I have never once down any advertising for. All traffic has been free, referral traffic and later from search engines.

The blog has now been around for over 3 years and brings in about 15k per month. After 6 months, this blog was doing very well, and I wasn't following any kind of formula to make it happen. Now that I know how to do it, I believe I could duplicate the success of this blog, all while working on it 15 mins per day, in 6 months or less.

So, it is quite possible to do just about anything. If you have the right knowledge - and understand leverage - you can make it happen.

Don't set your sights too low - and provide a ton of value - and you might just surprise yourself.

I read the post by Andy, and starting with 50 articles, and starting 100 blogs, and drip feeding them with content.

    Okay, the adsense method.

Does anyone realize how long it takes to build a adsense empire of $30k a month?

And Mike, thanks for your income statement on your blog. That is great. But that still is not 15 minutes a day. I know, I have a blog that makes that kind of income, and it takes a heck of a lot more than 15 minutes a day to run a business. And trust me, I got every automation tool on this planet.

I assure you, if you are making $15k a month, it is not from a blog. It is from a list AND a blog, it is from JV partners AND a blog, it is from personal branding techniques AND a blog.

Anyone making executive wages online has discovered the AND factor. It is not simply blogging.

I don't agree with the first part. People can be sitting right in the same room with Allen Says and Jack Duncan And Andy Henry and John Taylor and Paul Myers and you... and still be average due to their belief systems. However I do agree beliefs can be changed. And so can be the reality.

I never mentioned Adsense - I don't use Adsense as the main monetisation for any of my sites.

I love Adsense for testing and research - but there are much better ways to make money when you have traffic.

My point was just that - actually making blogs, feeding them content, and getting links - is quick and easy to do in many ways, so the arguments about the amount of time are only valid in a context that means you do them yourself in real time.

We're past the point where people really believe making blogs is hard aren't we? - you don't HAVE to have crap blogs just because you have a lot - outsourcing makes this a no-brainer.

It's all about outgoings vs income - if it costs you $10 to make $30 - who cares what the number of blogs or articles is - you'd want to do more of it.

      If money was your goal..

The learning curve is pretty long. However, once you have a working formula - IF you can develop a working formula - it borders on 'easy'.

DISCLAIMER: 'easy' means 'repeating your formula'. While that product in question is probably way over-hyped and over-exaggerated, and I certainly make no claims of doing it in 15 mins. per day, I can offer this scenario:

Keyword research - 60 mins. to come up with a small (5-10) group of related keyword/phrases with the following properties: combined search volume 300/day, EPC = $1/click (Adwords cost $4+), reasonably "rankable".

Setup - 1 hour to find & register exact-match keyword domain name, install Wordpress, configure theme, plugins, etc.

      Article outsourcing - costs: $150 for 25 decent 500 word keyword/phrase articles.

Ranking - Article submission, automated linkbuilding (Onlywire, SocialBot, RSSBot): 2.5 hours/week (appx. 20 mins. per day).

In 60-90 days, you'll have Page 1 listings for most or all of your keyword/phrases, provided you did your keyword research well. At that point, you are getting appx. 100 visitors per day. With a good, 'properly-matched' theme, you'll get a CTR of 20%. At $1/click, you are netting $20/day.

You launch 1 site per week. You are now spending spending appx. 1.5 hours/day (excluding initial setup). 120 days after reaching & holding at $20/day, you can get appx. 10x monthly for the site. That's $6000. Multiply times 4.5 (1 per week) comes to $27k/month.

Yes, absolutely possible but come on 15 minutes a day for 6 months. I guess if you really outsourced you could.

Have you ever tried another niche besides "teaching/showing someone how to make money"?

200 blogs making $16,000 is only what? $80 a blog? That is not much. make 400 auto blogs and the hype lives (assuming you can make 400 blogs in 6 months)

Does auto blogging make a blog that is readable? I have seen many selling auto blogging software and giving examples. Looking at the examples, I can't imagine why they are even indexed because a human from Google or other search engine couldn't have personally visited. I have yet to see one that is not almost humorous in it's content, as those I have seen are practically unreadable by humans. I would click an adsense ad to get out of there as fast as I could. Lol.

I hear (ear to the ground) that the powers to be are trying to automate a way to auto detect auto blogs and auto de-index them:rolleyes:. Is there an auto blog poster that can mimic a human so well that another human cannot tell it is an auto blog? (It seems to me, if the auto poster was any good, a PR4 blog with tones of posts and affiliate links would bring in more than $80/mo?)

Twitter is 90% one bot trying to sell to another bot unless you spend time choosing carefully who you follow, but even if you do and your 'click is a good one, that doesn't mean 90% isn't crap and just automated and spun twits. Will blogging become the same way soon? If there is an auto-blogger that doe make it look human (a I have seen one that just spins and re-posts RSS feeds from other blogs that 'looks' OK from the surface... until you read at the bottom every post was 're-posted from...' disclaimer.)

    Just rambling random thoughts

As to the offer, it may or may not be that a system worked for him. As to whether it will work for me or not, I am generally turned off by pictures of beaches and the beating of chests, so I'll take my chances and pass. 98% that buy the product won't use it, so why not sell it, even if it can work .

      Why is everyone so skeptical?

What you're doing is presupposing that only a certain number of 'blog posts' or a certain amount of 'time' is required to make money online.

But when you think about it - that's bunk.

On the other hand, that sort of nonsense is implicit in the pitch about 15 minutes a day - which rightly is why people are ripping it. I saw that in an email and deleted it without even bother to look at the product.

I think everyone here knows, or will realize when they think about it, that one can blog 24 hours a day and not make $30k a month. The money has little to do with the time involved.

Simple example: could Allen on this forum spend 15 minutes sending out a forum-wide PM promoting a product and make $30k a month? You bet. Am I going to get similar results on my little blog? Nope.

Kinda reminds me of how would you make a small fortune on wall street...

Well, first you start with a big fortune.

As I said in your other thread, Andy -- people SHOULD ask questions. This is a GOOD sign. Limitations DO HAVE A PLACE. Recognizing one's limitations is not a bad thing unless it's done incorrectly. The problem is, as you point out, people limit them beyond what they think is truly possible.

Reminds me of some articles I read a while back about the "possibility" thinking of Jack Welch and Mark Phelps. I think someone was analyzing one of those "getting things done" type of things, which said something along the lines of "setting achievable goals." And the proceeded to point out -- who in their right mind would think that Phelps and Welch's goals were achievable?

I mean, I have sometimes wondered if Bandler didn't get himself thrown in jail to prove a point to himself about his own "behavioral flexibility." (And such behavior I don't condone in the least.)

It can be done. (C'mon...what was that crazy book everyone was reading ... 4 hour work week?)

      Do I do it? No.

Do you do it? Well, from the sounds of it, no.

Can it be taught with reasonable success to others?

Ah, now there's the crux of the matter.

I used to follow this mad-man around (well, okay, I ponied up a lot of 1980s dollars to attend his seminars -- got certificates saying I could do this and that -- ...and sorta stalked a Congelese Dance Class he attended -- which was good for me in many ways. The dance class, that is.) His bailiwick was/is modeling behaviors of excellence. Point being, people who do things well frequently don't know what are all the ingredients necessary to make up that excellence, so that it can be taught to someone else.

I'm very new at this game, but at first I was excited about the whole idea of making money online. Tho I'm sceptical about the thousands per day claims and other such hype, I was hoping that I could at least be able to generate 1 or 2 K per month. However, after reading a few forums, I'm getting a little discouraged. So, I'm glad you asked that question and will be reading all the replies. I'm also wondering if you are making a decent money and if so, did it take you a long time to do it?

    Ron,

I know people that make more than 30k/month by spending 15 minutes a day blogging. The one for example I know of is a software blog. He is a well-known software developer and writes about programming most of the time. The problem here is, you have to be on the top, or be one of the first in the niche to achieve this.

Someone new and someone with no knowledge can not do this. Also the person that I know posts 1 post in every 3 days, so it is less than 15 minutes/day. He has over 100k rss readers and lots of ads on his site.

But the point is, it took 30years + 15 minutes to achieve this..

It would be more helpful if we knew two things

      1. How many hours a day did the person work to enable them to get that point where they can claim this kind of income from 15 minutes a day "maintenance".

      2. How many hours, if any, do outsourced workers put into the project?

It's like people who do a big launch claiming one million dollars in one day. The fact they worked 24/7 for the previous six months, paid out $300,000 in wages and $600,000 in affiliate commissions mean they made the equivalant of about $6,000 a month for a 40 hour working week. Still decent money but it doesn't have the ring of one million in one day. On the other hand, it's only about half the salary of a marketing manager employee (taking into account company benefits)
      Marketing Managers

As Steven Wagenheim pointed out in another thread, people don't want the hard work option. They want the fantasy lazy version.

    It's possible but:
    1) you need great content for less searched keywords

    3) you need the right tools
