I have read an article from SEJ that podcasts are really very useful in gaining traffic and high rank in Google. But I don't know how to use podcasts efficiently so that I can quench my thirst.
Can anyone help me?

    Yes. Google can help you.

Basically you provide value at first then do a product pitch at the end (like webinars) or for people to know your brand

Most people underestimate them because it has different medium but people can hear your podcasts on YouTube, car, gym or sometimes even at work.

There are higher costs though involved in making podcasts including the equipments, editing, quality recording and other things involved. Most podcast listeners are hungry buyers, your listeners will not fail you recommendations

The important thing you need to keep in mind is that you need to promote your podcasts so that they get attention.

Podcasts are really good for getting traffic as I listen to a few of them myself. If you've been online for sometime then you've probably heard about Pat Flynn.

I actually think he has a course about how to start a podcast. The way I would do it is the way I would do everything. I would head over to YouTube watch some videos and figure out things as I go along.

Agree with Renatas. The podcasts that I listen to provide value. I have actually reached out to a number of the folks who created the podcasts. So from their perspective, they are creating a loyal community. However, the best ones were not selling for quite some time, but rather offering value - the leveraged advertising and then moved to selling.

The community aspect of having a podcast is where it's at. When you build a community you have a number of ways that you can make money from that community later down.
