Question about video articles

I'm currently converting some of my articles to video. I can't decide if I should include music and let people read the screen OR skip the music and record myself reading the article.

Does anyone know which method is most effective, as far as conversions?

    Hey Michelle, if you are going to have the words on the video then you might have problems matching your speaking speed to the words they are seeing.

    A little soft music adds another element of depth to the video.

    YouTube now has an option to do what they call an "Audio Swap".
    It does not mean that you have to have an audio already on the video when you upload it it's just what they call it.

    It has the option to "Preview" your video with the new added sound first and that gives you an idea if your music is complimenting the video.

    They have so many choices of styles and artists that I was up late the other night playing with it

    So, I would suggest that you don't read it and if you add music when you upload to YouTube you will be able to "swap" it if you find something that sounds better.

    I haven't tested it myself, but I think if you talk in your videos it would be better then just by using text. I would suggest that you try both and see what works the best.

      Thanks for the suggestions. After doing one video with my voice, I've decided to go with the music. Not only does my voice sound bad (it's my voice not the equipment), but there seems to be a slight audio lag between what I'm saying and what's on screen. I think using my voice would drive people away. LOL
