Advice on pricing Free plus shipping CD

Hey guys I would love to get some advice on what I should charge for my free plus shipping CD offer, "The 7 Secrets To Unleash Your Inner RockStar Now!" (51 min) CD

I know that Russell charges 9.97 for his mp3 and Joy (one of his case studies) charges 9.97 for here CD to be mailed out. and Russells dad charges 7.97 for his free cd to be mailed out.

I think I remember Russell saying something about keping it under $10 bucks is best?

But I am debating on charging 9.97, 8.97, 7.97, or 6.97?

Here is my site that launched today.

Thanks guys, and love this forum!

I forgot to mention I will be using Kunaki for now, and it is around $5.50 to $6.00 after shipping using kunaki.

I would say charge enough to cover your expenses (production cost and shipping cost). I think it should work out to be under $10.

Go $9.97 and launch it. You may be over analyzing things. Remember Russell's mantra?

Do it and tweak it later.

Run a split test between $9.97 and the lowest amount that covers your costs. Once you see which one converts better use it.

lol.. that is what I talk about in my first video coaching lesson. But you are correct I tend to do that. Since this is my first real IM venture. Pretty juiced about it.

I think most are trained to pay shipping plus handling. I know that alot of things I order should only cost $2-3 but ends up being $7-10 and slow delivery. Thanks for all the kick ass advice.

I got 2 sales (subscribers) so far and about 60 people who opted in. I had a problem with the video loading way too slow. I am now hosting it on viddler and made it private. Works alot faster now.

Kunaki charges $1.75 for the pkg and $4 for s+h, for a total of $5.75.

So price it somewhere between that and $10.

Just how does anyone make any money from doing these as I am wondering what the cost of CD/DVD plus burning and shipping. I am thinking of doing a product on DVD but wondering if its worth it since I would have to pay a company to burn thenm for me etc...

      John,

You don't make money off the CD... you make money off the backend and the list you're building. This is a risk-free loss leader which in some cases the marketer may lose money initially off the front end or at least break even in order to sell the backend.

Of course their backend has been tested so you know your numbers...

Just like Mike said, you make it off the backend and if you do a micro continuity membership program too. So someone pays the shipping and they get a 14 day trial into your video coaching site. after 14 days they get auto billed at whatever you charge for it etc.

The cost so far for kunaki was around 5.50-5.75 to print and ship each. Also paypal charged me I think .50 for the transaction. So its about 6-6.25 for each CD. I also just signed up for nanacast to handle my affiliates and upsells. looks like a kick ass product for only 99 a month and a $1 trial for 37 days here on WF.
