Create and Connect to Succeed in IM

Create helpful content.

Build connections.

Form the foundation for a successful internet marketing campaign.

Guys; most of you tend to skip to the income stream. Just read another post where a Warrior chatted about Amazon FBA or affiliate marketing or whatever. An income stream is worthless until you do the creating and connecting necessary to inspire folks to trust you.

Strange to me because income streams are inanimate objects. Affiliate marketing cannot make you money any more than a hammer drives nails into walls on its own. Carpenters use hammers skillfully to drive nails into walls or wood or what have you. Carpenters spent years learning how to be skilled carpenters from mentors (connecting with teachers) and practicing their craft (creating homes or at least creating as an apprentice).

This is why choosing money drivers is a bad idea. Imagine having zero experience as a carpenter, sitting down with a master carpenter, and explaining how you need to make X amount of dollars through carpentry in the next 6 months, and then you ask the quickest way to do it.

It sounds asinine offline. Nobody ever does this. But online, folks have similar expectations every day. Weird.

Money responds well to folks who create:

- helpful blog posts designed to solve their ideal customer's problems
- helpful videos designed to solve their ideal customer's problems
- helpful products and services designed to solve their ideal customer's problems

How long does it take to practice-create enough content and to be skilled enough to make a powerful impact in your niche? Months upon months, to years. Nobody gets REALLY good at IM in months because the guys and gals doing it right for years or decades have a head start of years or decades, and outshine the newbs.

Money also responds well to folks who connect with respected IMers or bloggers in their niche by:

- commenting genuinely on blogs
- promote other IMers on their blogs
- promote other IMers through social media

Guys; posting genuine, personalized comments on blogs leads to connections-friendships. Those friendships lead to all types of stunning success. Ditto for promoting other folks and expecting nothing in return.

Create connect, create connect, create connect. First you develop skills. Then you open income streams through which you receive money, based on your creating and connecting over years.

Most IMers struggle because they try to make money through a stream without creating much at all and without establishing any connections. Nobody cares. Nobody trusts them. Everything falls on deaf ears because they haven't paid their creating and connecting dues.

Create and connect guys.

Success finds generous, connected IMers.

  • I find this very true. People trust you if they know you are helping them more than you are selling them. This is a huge step that IMers must take and practice in their profession to not just achieve success but also become a long lasting business out there.

So true. Being lazy will get you nowhere. I tried the lazy methods. They don't work in the long-term.
Always be unique. Create high-quality content and you'll succeed!

Edited for honesty and to eliminate Mind Warrior BS, running rampant on this forum.

You can create all of the "high-quality content," known to man. It guarantees, nothing!

There are no guarantees in life or business, regardless of your manifestations.

Being intellectually lazy won't get you there, either.

Meanwhile, everywhere else on the internet, the globally understood and accepted practice of eCommerce (i.e. trading money for goods and services) carries on regardless.

Yeah Ryan's advice doesn't apply to every business model. (Just many of them.)

Actually, the "business model" of spending years blogging for connections before expecting an income stream is one that's hardly ever espoused outside of the insular world if IMery. Which is just as well for the economy at large.

Sure I agree -- it doesn't necessarily have to take years. However the overall advice of "Create helpful content" and "Build connections" is sound (IMO).

Something I like about Ryan is that I have never seen him be rude, opinionated, or condescending -- ever. (That's the kind of Professional Person I would like to learn from.)

Tsk. Another rude comment. (I'm 100% convinced you're trying to ruin The Forum.) If not then try supporting People rather than bringing them down.

Certainly NOT a personal attack if his post stands, right? His opinion, my opinion, fair enough mods?

I think this post speaks directly to the top IMers here - you can't really connect with them without them wanting you to part with a couple of thousand dollars.

You're lucky if you find someone really nice and generous that returns your questions once in 3 days and up to a week lol ....

Totally agree with this, Being Genuinely helpful goes a long way. Building that trust will always position you in the path of success long term ,but it takes effort and consistency and that is what most people lack .

I never personally attack anyone. Causing someone to appear stupid by pointing out their lunacy is NOT attacking anyone.

I can't be responsible for how any individual snowflake with delicate sensibilities reacts to having their drivel pointed out to others as a warning as to what type of information to totally ignore, especially from those that have never done anything in IM, but consider themselves capable of telling others what they should be doing to achieve success.

    I mean - what's up with THAT???

Pointing out lunacy is unnecessary. Stupidity shines like a beacon from distant shores of ignorance
      insecurity,
and self-indulgence. It is a siren in the darkness, and only the foolish follow the flame to a floundering self-flagellation and demise.

However, unmasking drivel, diatribe and disparaging remarks because of opposing views, is doing a great service to the forum.

You sir, a poet of truth, veracity and trustworthiness...

and I modest muse, a simpleton dropping cowpies of thought into the fields of gold, hoping they be squished between understanding toes.

OH, I want to connect, create, and carry on happily, THANKS OP for this really swell concept.
