The price formation of advertising on TV.

For research work I chose the topic of advertising pricing on TV. I chose it because now everyone is writing about internet marketing and something like that. I do not understand exactly the process of pricing. How does this happen? Per second, by the number of impressions or in some other way. Please, help.
P.S. TV ad of USA.

Google is your friend and so is the ad rep at your local TV station.

There are different pricing structures depending on the network, the channel, time of day, number of insertions, standby status, etc.

Some channels will cost a great deal more than others.

So, you may pay for a 15-second spot, that runs twice daily during the national news, for example.

    Is the person to ask.

Agreed on the "go talk to your local sales rep."

Another type of person to find and talk to is called a "media buyer."

I co-produced a tv show for 3 seasons and discovered the local market was somewhat isolated...meaning fees were much cheaper than other markets. Really, I should be producing infomercials and running them because the hourly cost is so darn low here.
