If you are a web designer, maybe you could start by selling your web design services?

A good living can be made at that. You can sell them through service sites like upwork.com and they take care of all the business side of things.

    Good luck!

Unfortunately, although you may get many responses, it's doubtful that any of they will be of much value to you.

I'm afraid you are going to have to read more and do additional research to find what is most akin to your skills, interests and budget - if you even have one..

No one, here, is going to have a magic solution for you. That's just the reality of the situation. You are in the same boat as millions of others wanting to make money online. It's not going to be any different fr you than it is for them, unless you are struck by lightning.

I don't even see any clouds in the sky.

Sorry. If I had anything that I thought would be of value to you, I would gladly share it. If you would like someone to list some things for the sake of listing them - I'm not really your guy.

Well, I'm an old man and am formally retired although I still take care of a few clients that refuse to let me quit work. One has developed into a best friend and one takes care of my dog, so I can't really turn my back on them.

I have done well enough for myself that I am comfortable and don't want or need anything I couldn't afford to buy. I guess a person can't really ask for more than that.

The majority of my business was more offline than on, but the last few years and projects were fully online. I know enough about most things to take care of myself and I'm smart enough to know when I need outside help and have developed a stable of some of the best people on the planet to do the things I can't - or choose not to.

Additionally, I still putter around and contemplate new projects, many of which I'm getting serious about, just to keep busy. It's not important that they be financially successful, if they bring me fulfillment and enjoyment, they will be successful enough. That's a luxury. I'm blessed to be in that situation.

It doesn't matter what I or anyone else here tells you of their personal success. That has nothing to do with you. Don't be blinded by the BS. Think about what you want to do and strike out. Just be smart and realistic in your goals.

            Life goes by quickly. Don't dilly-dally! :-)

I would start with affiliate marketing but that's just me.

Entrepreneurship is full of risk, if that truly scares you then get the illusion of safety that a job provides.

Failing is part of the journey, "success" is a house made of failures.

You have to make your own decisions and be willing to see them through.

All the ideas you mention are profitable, but all require months of solid work without any guarantees.

I would advise you to work on a 9 to 5 job and improve upon the skills which u already have which is web designing.
You will learn more and improve upon your existing skills working with different people around.

Once you are confident enough, u can again start working as a freelancer or open your company.

There is lots of competition in web designing etc so, it will be good if you can first have confidence and work on different projects working for others and then work your way up...

    All the Best!!

do you think web design arbitrage can also work for this? so i could work on some projects while getting more web design jobs as a reseller to make more profit...what do you think?

is not what will work for you is .... what exactly did you do to fail for 6 years.

Maybe analyze your work ethic, routine, goals... what exactly was the discipline you implemented.

I don't think is about "what way should I go" vs should I go this way and be a true professional in this path.

Also: what is your realistic goal?

    $1000 per month?
    $2000 per month?
how much time do you have?
what are you willing to invest in time, energy, resources, money....

    etc

$1000 per month since i am starting afresh...
how much time do you have?
i have time starting from 6pm to 10pm everyday.
what are you willing to invest in time, energy, resources, money
i am willing to invest time...reosurces like sharing valuable content that build trust...and a little money for hosting my new website... i plan to promote organically through content marketing too

What do you actually do from 6 to 10 pm?

Sharing valuable content that builds trust makes no difference.... aren't you a web designer?

    Why not sell web design?

My agency sells 10K per month in web design... and some freelancers in freelancer.com are making 5k to 15k per month just with web design.

        Just be a decent one
        be professional
        learn WordPress well
        Hussle
        Be fast
        don't cut corners

Stop wondering for the magic formula and instead ask yourself, what are those guys making 15K per month doing that I'm not...

they are applying for jobs while you are wondering... if you should apply or not

You can make 15K per month when you have worked towards being worth 15K per month.

            Do you have a portfolio?
            Demo sites?
Do you have your own site?

            If you don't start there.

            You are an influencer?
If you are showcase that ... post a WSO offering your awesome skills, WOW the public and if they are WOW then the market gives you the answer.

Is this possible. Certainly. Is it likely for someone starting from where you are, anytime soon? Absolutely, not.

i was over thinking the industry is saturated...
It is beyond, "saturated." It is extremely, over-saturated. Here's the problem, which I'm sure many will not want to agree with, but that won't make what I say, any less accurate.

Everyone thinks they can build a website and truth be told, anyone can. WordPress, combined with thousands of hours of online tutorials have made it possible for anyone to build a modest site in a few hours. Additionally, there are scads of free, or damn close to it, website building and hosting resources on the web, including specialty sites for eCommerce stores, business directories and the list goes on and on.

Now - can a neophyte sit down at their computer and build a beautiful (in the eye of the beholder) complicated website with all of the bells and whistles? Probably, not. The problem is, and I have experienced this first hand - a majority of these people are quite happy with what they can do on their own, for a few reasons.

            1. They think they have created a work of art and every time the gaze upon it they get hot flashes.

            2. In their mind, it's all they need as they view it as nothing more than an online business card - or just one-step above that. They feel that their Facebook page has negated the need for a website and for many of them, they are totally correct.

            3. They don't understand the value and prestige of having a website that positively reflects on the image their business projects and don't want to spend a dime to achieve that goal.

            4. If they are a legitimate business, they either built or contracted to have a professional website built, long before they opened their doors. Even if they feel they are ready for an upgrade, they are not sitting around waiting for you to call them. Once that decision is made, they get it done.

Sorry for raining on your parade and your newfound, "hope." Unfortunately it needs to be modulated with a massive dose of pragmatism. That someone else has accomplished something, after years of building to that point, employing a team of professionals, has absolutely nothing to do with the likelihood of you even remotely duplicating that level of success, or anything close to it, without years of dedication to your mission statement, first-class marketing, high-level web development skills, massive sales ability, compiling a competitive portfolio by completing a large number of quality sites and more than a modicum of good luck.

Never look at what someone else has accomplished to determine what you are capable of. Introspection, combined with an honest evaluation of your own creative skills and personal character traits are what need to be considered to determine your possibility of any success.

People who will tell you that anyone can do anything, if they just put their mind to it and never give up, are simply full of crap. Thinking you can or even believing you can - does NOT mean you can. Tons of those people fail every single day.

Should you choose to proceed and there's no reason why you shouldn't - based off of anything I said, then just set realistic, easily achievable goals that you can build on. Each small success gives you confidence to shoot a little higher on your next goal. Taking a running start at the moon, right out of the gate - results in a one-word outcome - SPLAT!!!

Just something to consider. Good luck in whatever you choose.

This is going to sound mean, but my intention is to illuminate. Fire burns.

People get into "business" without the faintest idea of what's required. They think just putting out their shingle (the sign saying, "Hey, I do this!") is enough.

    No one sees it.

    You need Traffic...

    ...eyeballs on your offer...

    ...and Conversion...

...the ability to turn some of those visitors into sales.

And the fact is that nearly all of you have no skill at either.

You think because you have some technical skill that people care? Will seek you out? Nope.

THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU EXIST.

Your first job if you want to run an agency is to get a number of people to look at your offer to make a website.

Preferably you want people who are likely to want a website (before they ever heard of you) to come and look.

And you want more than you imagine right now. Hundreds every month, if not thousands.

I have been doing consultation calls for other people's funnels for over six years now, and the number one problem they have is:

Nowhere near enough leads coming in to have a chance of hitting their (vaguely defined) money target.

They are beaten before they begin...and it's horrifying to me that until we spoke they didn't even know it.

You are NOT going to convert 1 out of 10 visitors to your site.

You are NOT going to get 1 visitor out of 50 onto a call with you. Probably not even 1 out of 100.

So the first thing I would do, again, is get working on a consistent process for bringing at least 200 people a month over to your platform, where they can see your offer.

If you don't solve this leadgen problem, you will never succeed in business--regardless of whether it's selling websites, affiliate offers, or donuts.

Do you know anything about lead capture? Autoresponders? Funnels?

Having a skill that's just a part of the entire marketing experience doesn't cut it, especially if you have large numbers of providers offering the same benefits.
For example, a lot of manufacturing contracts are sent over to China, but guess which among the many large factories there are getting the most significant contracts?

And, reading content, regardless of its timely value, won't be able to realistically guarantee success to any significant extent.
For example, why have I read and fully understand the exact things that Bill Gates did and am yet to duplicate his success?

You should realize that the entire business experience is built on iterative processes, which are in turn built on genetic intuition and your ability for rational thought to observe, compare and presume current, past and future phases of your current environment and situation.
This is exactly what makes whatever you do in business, or anything for that matter, unique.

And, this uniqueness necesitates unique results.
So, what exactly am I getting at?

Well, there are people more suitable for fulfilling certain things vital for business processes to successfully achieve intended collective goals and properly manage unintended consequences.

And, there are people with the ability and experience to maximize the utility of those persons ...

So, I suggest spending time to find the right partners for your ventures.

Yes and there are thousands of products. Just pick one you like. Seriously, too many beginners spend too much time trying to choose the perfect product. Pick a product, pick a system and make mistakes, learn, make more mistake, learn and start making money. You'll likely fail a few times first, but look at those as learning opportunities, not failures.

Yes and very profitable. You can do web design, smm and guest posting as a freelancer and make a full-time income without leaving your house. This is where I would start if I were you and build a business that pays the bills first. Then, go after affiliate marketing.
