Ranking and Renting Google Places/Maps/Local Listings

I've been reading some chatter in other venues about people that are creating, ranking, and rent out a Google Maps listing to local businesses.

Do you guys know of anyone that has any good training or discussion on this topic, especially content developed in 2018?

I haven't been too successful finding anything like this on WF that contains newer content.

  • If they don't have a physical location, they can't have a map listing. Mailboxes & registered addresses are not allowed. Once Google realises, they will take the listing down. I've had discussions with Google reps about this & the stance is clear.

    You can create sites & rank them. Then rent them out. People out there make it look easy. But it's not.

  • What do people think about the various companies out there that are advertising that they can get you in the local 3 pack? It sounds too good to be true, but how does this not violate Google's terms of service? Thanks.
