Is anyone else using Facebook groups with Car Lots?

I'm doing a side hustle with a used car lot to help with some web marketing. They currently post brief ads on Facebook "Yardsale" groups to start the conversation with potential buyers.

It works to a degree, but I think it could be refined. A single sales person may connect with 300-400 people in a week and only generate only a few face-to-face leads out that. That's the primary goal of the Facebook ads is to get visitors. I have some ideas, but some suggestions would be great.

Anyone doing something similar? Doesn't have to be with car lots.

Thanks, and blessings. :-)

I have no experience with selling cars. But in regards to Facebook:

Is Facebook really the best place to advertise this? I would suspect you're already advertising in other places like craigslist and car buying/selling sites.

I think the main problem with Facebook for car sales is that the purchase is typically a large expense. So, you're not probably getting in front of many people who are actively searching to buy cars. Those people are looking on Craigslist, Carmax, Car Gurus, etc. You're getting in front of people who are looking to buy or sell... something. (Unless, you're in specific car buying/selling groups.)

Just my opinion of course, but I would guess that's why you're only converting a few contacts to leads.

What Gambino said "So, you're not probably getting in front of many people who are actively searching to buy cars."

Also, consider the salesperson may not be good at selling.. sometimes a salesperson is very good face-to-face, but very bad on the phone messaging and Facebook conversations. Something you will want to investigate.

However, even a few sales for a high priced product is always a good thing as long as there is a profit!

Facebook may not be the best place for targeted buyers and starting conversations to ultimately sale cars unless the cars are specialty cars, but you never know where sales online will be derived from in the future, so it can't hurt.

Are you able to track and test ads. Lots of insight can be derived from ad networks.

i agree, facebook does not work for me for targeted buyers. i use automated poster to sell affliate products and cpa offers. it works well for that
