I mean, any online business has potential. It's all about the passion and drive you may have to get that ROI.

Totally ridiculous question. No matter how much you spend, it doesn't guarantee success. You can invest $1M in a scalable online business and lose your shirt.

The question is phrased back to front. You don't start a business because you've got some arbitrary budget. You come up with a viable business idea and then decide what your initial investment should be.

You could start email marketing for a fraction of that. website, autoresponder + paid traffic would be quickest way to build your list.

With paid traffic you should start slow and scale up your winners and cut the loser so a few hundred $ is plenty, in fact you should NOT be spending $50k starting out in ads because it's a sure fire way to failure.

Instead start few ads for E.g $25 each on facebook, PCC etc... then slowly increase your bids for your winning campaigns then after a few months of this you'll get to spending 50k+ BUT this money your spending is your profits from your previous ads and is not your initial investment.

Complete backwards approach... find the need, determine the offering to satisfy the need and then look to market. Construct a spend plan with milestones based on growth targets and work to creating the budget. If you tell someone you have $100K to spend on a business - they will tell you the cost to get the business moving is $100K - even if it is only $5K. Understand your product and goal for making the investment and then get quotes.

From two brothers in a basement, without anywhere near those amounts, to 8 BILLION dollars...you might want to take a serious look at software development.

Anything to get inside the head of consumers, then scale it up.

There are many that CAN.. but in the end, potential means nothing until you get down to doing it.

What exactly do you have in mind?

There is a Drug Dealing joke in there somewhere.

It kind of baffles me the thought of having that type of investment and not having the answer already but even if we did know already nothing wrong with getting more insights.

There is a copy of Millionaire Fast Lane online if you dig.

For me it would be the way I would like to enjoy a business once it's up and running on full power.

If you study Chris Ducker you will realize he flew to the Philippines, set up an Outsourcing company then Outsourced himself completely so it runs on its own with people he put in place all the way to the top. Brilliant.

I was on another I.M. Forum I found the other day and there were great people there some newbie some pimping Crypto this and that, but some were sharing their online revenue and it was pennies adding up to a few dollars in a far away Country and it just made me pause for a moment. I know we have to start somewhere. But I really wanted to change their lives in some way.

It was so depressing I wanted to help everyone somehow and still do. I probably will not return to that forum because I do not think I was going to learn as much as I shared and time is precious.

I think I just needed to get that out. Seeing this thread title and thinking of those thread titles over there just good to keep in mind peoples very different experiences, levels, and resources. Thanks.

There are many business models where you can reach good and fast ROI, some are more risky, some are less risky, some takes few weeks and some takes few months or even years to reach positive ROI.

Personally I am crypto lover and have been in crypto space since 2016. What I would do with such investmens is part of amount I would invest into real estate, buy some flat and rent it, this way you would have passive income, stable and consistent profits and other part I would invest into cryptos.

Of course with cryptos you could lose money very fast if you don't know what you are doing, but if you smart you can make a lot of money with your investments.

In the past there was ICO's and almost everybody made a killing investing into these ICO's because almost all coins price increase 1x-100x after hitting exchangers, these days ICO's are very risky and I dont reccomend investing in them, better start researching about STO(security token offerings), these will replace ICO's and if with proper research you can make killing.

Another way is trading cryptos ,but this takes time to learn TA, to read charts and so on. But with even few bitcoins you could make from 10% to 100% monthly ROI, depends how good you are at trading.

So overall I sugest to dive in into crypto world as its amazing worlds with tons of opportunities.

    Thanks

Im actually getting ready for a round one funding on a very interesting app project involving IOT technology and delivering 4/1 ROI's for first world investors in the developing world ag sector. The project will be built on hyperledger, so in that aspect using blockchain.

The whole ICO thing is stupid and has run its course. Maybe another ICO boom will take place but its gimmicky and not tangible enough for my taste. Though utilizing blockchain technology does do well for your marketing, as well as potentially opening new routes to venture capital if you come up with something creative.

I think in the 100k+ range a great place to be looking is in app development because there are lots of ways to monetize in that space.

If you just want some risk on investments with potential for passive income then you may consider working with a broker instead of trading yourself, unless you are into that sort of thing.

If you can't money with $100, you can't make it with $100k. That's my motto. Why do you think companies that had 100s of millions of dollars in funding fail? Because they don't know how too sell, what to sell, and who to sell it to.

That's all there is to any business, really. Find a need, fulfill it, and get it in front of your potential buyers. You don't need $50k to achieve that. Once you create a profitable business model, a product that converts well, for example, you can scale it up with paid marketing (ads), and any number of ways. You gotta find it first.

You can succeed with zero investment. All it takes is a will to succeed and passion for business. Everyone works with the funds available to them. There is no magic pill business you can buy or a turn key success it all comes down to sweat equity in the end aka hard work.

No matter how much you can invest in a business , only matter if you are passionate about that business or have good understanding of that particular business. You can find many people here who started with $ 100 and now make thousands of dollars per month. Alternatively you can buy a profitable running business.

  • You can buy a Papa John's franchise for $70,000. Then hire out some folks to run/manage employees while you chill at the crib.

But it's not online though. Sorry.

Unless you buy an existing profitable website that's for sale because the business owner doesn't want to do the work in it anymore.

Back to fundamentals. People. Process. Technology.
Combined, it's a creative, iterative chain of strategies, techniques and tactics.
Those things run businesses. Those things generate profits.

No business efficiently runs with just money. No business successfully generates profits with just money.

Not even a stock trading venture. Not even real estate investing.
Not even franchising. Not even buying an already running, reasonably profitable business.

That's because you need to know what, when, where, why and how to continue producing profits from doing any of those things.
You also need to constantly keep an eye out for trends and breakthroughs -- One thing can suddenly neutralize any strategy you're currently using.

So hire and partner up with the right people.
Implement and tweak the right process chain, from product development to customer retention and repeat sales.
Use and develop the right technologies to make your processes scalable, faster, more productive and more cost-effective.

Once you know what, when, where, why and how to do something -- That's the time you'll know how much money to spend on the right people, the right processes and the right technologies to build and manage a scalable, reasonably profitable business.

Online. Offline. Combined. It doesn't matter.
