How do I drive more traffic to my blog?

Any suggestions here? I have a personal finance blog (smartincometoday) that has not been getting any traffic. Would love to hear anyone's thought on how I can drive more traffic. Also, would appreciate any feedback on my website itself. Thanks!

Advertise your existing content on Facebook...

Then run a retargeting campaign to advertise the next post to the people you've pixeled, and use that data to create a lookalike audience so you can advertise to the right audience when you scale.

But if you want free methods, and you're happy to put the work in, there are hundreds to choose from.

Guest blogging is one of the best, if you're wiling to create outstanding content and give it away.

No matter what you decide to do, you gotta build an email list from that traffic - that's going to become your most powerful traffic source in time.

Couldn't agree more. This is actually a great strategy. Get some interests that are related to your Blog, put each one in an adset and run a campaign for VC (view content).

If your pixel is correctly set, then as Michael said, you can retarget them anytime. This can easily be done from your ad manager by creating custom audiences for people who already performed an action on your website (visiting a specific link or spending X time in X pages).

Since you're new you should read the rules. Promoting your website (by asking for comments on it) is a violation of the forum rules. Not making it an actual link is not an approved work-around.

    Hi,

Quite a few ways you can do this. The fastest way to get traffic is to pay for it using Facebook or Google Ads.

Seeing that I am a Facebook ads guy, I would recommend that you create a blog post, then create an ad campaign with traffic objective to promote your blog post.

My advice is to also place the Facebook and Google pixel on your blog so that you can build audiences of people who have consumed your content.

In terms of free traffic strategies there are loads but free traffic takes time to setup(unless you have large social media audiences or a big email list.

However the most effective free traffic strategies are creating optimised Youtube Ads, posting in quora, forum posting and also hanging around in facebook Groups.

    Hope this helps!

I see you only have a blog post published 4 days ago. It's not surprising you don't have traffic yet. Here are my pieces of advice:

    1. The fullscreen popup to grab my email is really annoying. Don't be that kind of annoying person. I would never visit your blog again if I were your visitor.
    2. Provide real value. 30+ articles on, and then you can consider doing external SEO. Right now, any traffic that it will come it will leave soon because there is no valuable content there.
    3. I think you should use a different word instead of resources. When I think about resources to make money, I don't expect to see web hosting and premium WordPress themes.

    I hope this helps.

    • Thanks! This is exactly the kind of feedback I need Already removed my popup now having read your comment and trying to think more about your other two comments.

Firstly, you need to create quality content and advertise them in your social sites. If your content can show its effectiveness properly, it will drive more traffic to your blog.

To confirm, are you getting any traffic at all or just a low amount?

I would start by optimizing for Seo and posting on social media. Is paid traffic an option? Ppc could work well.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11449193].message }}
    • Would say no traffic at all. Paid is an option if there is a clear long-term value

Try tools like Link Assistant and Buzz Bundle to generate the traffic needed and wanted. They can help you find other people in your niche. It is important to not be spammy about stuff and start building relationships with them before asking to guest post.

It is broad way to gain traffic and not that easy. initially write pure, relevant content for blog and do proper internal linking. content is king than start backlinks for blog. content attracts the traffic.

Do some keyword research and Post relevent content related to your business and optimize every niche of your website according to the keywords. Share it on social media. Guest posting is a great way to drive traffic only if you are successful in getting a body link.
