Network Marketers / MLMers: What Would Excite You More?

I am working on developing a series of products and training systems to help build my downline, as well as tools that I can use to train my downline to become super stars.

I work for a marketing agency, so I have a ton of ideas/plans/tools on how to build an MLM business, but the problem is that I come from a very technical and savvy background, so I know what I would like to build my MLM business, but I do not know what the average Network Marketer would like to add to their toolkit.

I was hoping to get an idea from any Network Marketers as to what type of product would be more exciting for you. I plan on creating a lead magnet that goes pretty in depth into a specific strategy.

What would you rather have:

1. A lead generating website/funnel that not only generates leads, but also generates a revenue along the way.

2. An eBook with a system that teaches you how to grow your business beyond your warm market (ie friends and family), and aims to have people come to you asking about your opportunity.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I would go "by the book" and offer them a book.

Also heed in mind that people judge a book by the cover so make it stand out.

As a brother in arms (I am a big proponent of duplication) I suggest that you use books/reports
as selling machines for the reason why, they are spread a lot among circles thus giving you the
edge to recruit automatically and passively while putting their minds at ease with the magic of the written word.

With the right strategy, you can emerge as an overnight success. It is possible.

I once developed a marketing system for team building in MLM and affiliate programs, use a heavily modified version for my current affiliate program for our hosting company.

The team build website I rolled out for a MLM did quite well, over 5K signups to program.

However, I think it will also depend on the program you are promoting, different mindsets based on program, work ethic, etc.

Why not use a combination of the two, a book and a system that the book promotes?

Network Marketing is also known as Chain generating system. This is the main reason why peoples don't like Network marketing software. In other hand we have MLM Software . The advantages of MLM Software it is very cheap in price and easy available throughout the world.

Your intention answers your question. Train your downline to become superstars with an awesome book and some videos if you can.

Help them become experts in generating income without depending on fixed templates like a lead generating website.

And if you really want to be a different kind of MLM (that doesn't annoy people), I'd suggest teaching your downline to forget about their friends and families and go directly at people that need that specific product/service.

I think the friend and family approach is the cheapest and most annoying way to try to make a buck. I write for a living, but I don't bug my loved ones to get a book because they "need" it.

In other words, teach your downline to market in a proper way that allows you to still have honor at the end of the day.

I personally like case studies. Whether they be books or videos, a case study shows someone how to do something while you are doing it yourself and then they get to see the results.

    Hi Chris,

I did network marketing for more than 5 years. Loved my time in it. Met incredible people. Went to all the local training events and international training events 4x per year.

It's unclear to me in your question if you are part of an existing company or you want to create your own MLM company. For this post, I'm going to assume you're part of an existing company with a team of your own that you want to train.

I was a part of one of the most respected companies in the industry for TRAINING. The company put a LOT of focus on training. They recognize that most people absolutely SUCK at network marketing, and it's not as easy the rock stars make it out to be. So, my opinions here may be biased.

If you're part of a good company, you should not need to be developing any system or software of any kind to grow your business. The company should have everything you need in place to grow your business, which allows your to focus on the only thing that matters in MLM - talking to people.

You can have the best training and still fail at MLM. You need to find people who are coachable, have a strong desire to succeed and a good work ethic. You can't develop a training system to create those people. It's a numbers game. There are so few people out there who you can "change" to become super stars in your downline.

I think you will be far more productive to talk to more people and find those red apples. Don't waste time on those who don't see the opportunity. If you sell the right person the right opportunity, they will figure out a way to win on their own without your training systems.

Some will. Some won't. Some wait. So what? Next!

Also, the friends and family model of MLM is there because you only need a handful of people to join your team to become successful. After you get those few people, you help them with their friends and family and you drill your legs down deep. It's all warm market attraction because it is proven that warm markets do better than cold markets in MLM. They already know, like and trust you, so pick the low hanging fruit and run with it.

TLDR: neither option. Focus on the trainings your company has provided on customer and independent representative acquisition instead and work the numbers. If you are so keen on developing a training program and marketing it online, they I might suggest doing that, but targeting ALL independent representatives of ALL MLM companies. There are lots of newbies out there who are searching online "how to get better at MLM?" - and up pops your training system.

In my own opinion, as a top recruiter and top rep, what network marketers REALLY want is someone to do their marketing for them. You can give them the best eBook or website, but they still don't know how to promote it. A team CO-OP is probably your best option.

You would be better off providing leads/traffic generation service you could cater to businesses.
