looking for advertising suggestions for my massage salon

Hi everybody,
I opened a massage salon and now im in the phase of advertising my new business. So far i have hired someone to manage social media and google SEO and etc. Next week im having 12,000 flyers distributed to mailboxes in surrounding suburbs. Now im looking for ideas to advertise my business even more. As im just starting the business im on pretty tight budget so i need to get as much advertising for as little cost as possible. Salon capacity is 250 customers a week. Now ideally im looking to get the salon fully booked. What would you guys do?

Thanks,
Ray

Go and see sources of referrals like local sports teams, other medical practitioners, chambers of commerce, etc

Walk up and down the local area meeting the other business owners and offering them a "free trial" or "low 1st time visit charge".

If there are companies close to you where they have a number of staff that say stay seated all day you could offer to show how massage will improve staff morale and reduce stress etc. Get groups of them in again on a free trial type arrangement.

Maybe you do something after work hours where groups of office workers could come in and you have little mini-events in the salon where people can get a quick 5 minute treatment so they can sample your service as a group. Then pitch some subscription or 10 visit deal etc.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

Google Seo will take time to get responses and you should use google adwards. It is paid but you will get leads earlier than SEO that is to optimize your website and rank it, Not for leads.

  • Another thing you can do is offer neighboring businesses discounts if they get their massages during slow hours. Or maybe a referral program like their customer can get a discount if they can show a receipt that they purchased something from your neighbor that day. It can be as simple as asking, politely, if you can leave calling cards in their office and offer to do the same.

I have a friend who advertises her massage business in the local Facebook groups. They allow businesses to post once a week and there are seven groups. She gets enough business from that to never have to pay for advertising. Always read the rules before posting.

This is a good time to offer gift certificates for Christmas presents. This can be especially good if you offer a special price - "Buy two for only $xxx. Keep one for yourself and give one away to the person who has everything."

I would encourage promoting "massage therapy" as opposed to a massage salon due to how people perceive both.

Some businesses have health fairs where you can set up a chair and pass out business cards.

Check with local chiropractors. If they don't have their own massage therapist they might be willing to refer patients to you.

As mentioned above, if you have a slow time offer a special rate such as "Unwind Wednesday" or "Morning Massage".

Mike Humphreys, who started his massage biz with 100 bux and grew it huge. He helps other therapists to build their business, why not get advice from someone who has DONE it and not a bunch of random strangers who don't know your business?

Use google, he's on LinkedIn too.

Offer a special using sms text marketing. When you send out your flyers in the neighborhood add to your flyers something like this:

Text "Massage" to 12345 to get your first massage at 50% off. (make an irresistable offer)

You will build a list that you can market for years. Everyone has a mobile phone so it's not a problem and when you send a few blast every month from the list you build, you will get regular customers.

    Hi Ray,

Have you read DOTCOM SECRETS by Russel Brunson?

Basically what he advices is that businesses have a value ladder that the customer can move through.
Heres an example of a value ladder:
    1. Offer something for free (This gets the customer through the door)
    2. Sell something inexpensive that has a low barrier of entry (to turn a lead into a customer)
    3. Sell something more expensive that provides more value
    4. Sell something even more expensive with more value
    5. Sell something truly expensive that is really valuable (Very few will take the offer but the ones who do will bring in a lot of $)

Start with the end in mind and reverse engineer from there.

    Good luck. Hope this helps.

My advice is to try affiliate marketing tools like bulk SMS. From my experience when I did a newsletter through the bsg.world service, sales grew 2 times. Now people are always with their phone and much more likely that they will see an SMS message and not an email for example!
