How do you stay focused on one business model?

So I read that it's important to focus on one business model, which I am trying to do, but it's really difficult. My question to you is

1) Do you stick to one business model? i.e product creation, adsense, affiliate marketing.

2) how do you stay focused, disciplined and not get distracted by other ventures?

why get distracted if one thing is making you money... surely it's a lot easier to focus on the money spinners and build on them... as opposed to chasing your tail all the time

    MrEyeconic,

Good question. I think one of the things that helps you to focus is having a clearly defined business plan and/or model. I don't know that your plan would necessarily have exclude any one of the categories you've mentioned above, but I think its important that you know what your business is and that you know what your plan is. Once you know that, then you have something to follow. In Internet marketing there is so much
"eye candy" that it is very easy to be distracted, and it can be difficult to focus. For me, the clearer picture I have of my target objectives, and the more precise understanding I have of my plan/model, the easier it is to focus. It is much easier to ignore the distractors and allocate time properly.

I agree with Alexa. Sticking to one thing because it works and build your whole business around that is dangerous. In this business things can change very fast and suddenly you sit there without any income. It is better to have many different projects and methods.

    Good question you have here

    1) Do you stick to one business model? i.e product creation, adsense, affiliate marketing.

No, not really. I started in the affiliate marketing when I just entered IM. And then I start to create my own business

Guess what now? I'm diversifying my income source from affiliate marketing + article writing service + backlinks building service.

My next source of income will come from niche site creation and earning some adsense bucks

    2) how do you stay focused, disciplined and not get distracted by other ventures?

Well... easy. Just stop looking at product such as "Learn the XXXX to make money online " etc etc. Stay focus in only product within your niche.

Example: if you are in the SEO niche.
Just skip all the make money fast product and focus on product such as backlinks building, seo tips revealed etc etc.

Sames for for article marketing and other niche.

Hope this personal advice is useful to all.

Fail a few times and you will very soon learn to focus!

I'm the queen of "lack of focus", and as I learned earlier this year, 100% focus can make dreams come true and I'm now running my own online business on a full time basis!

    All the best!

      Wow congratulation
Yes, it's ok to fail. I failed a lost a lot of $$$ in the past which push me into internet marketing.

Without that failure, I won't be able to make my $$$ while studying at home

Thanks Winson! I've lost lots of $$$ too, both in IM and other ventures. If it weren't for those failures I probably wouldn't be doing what I do now, and it seems you're doing ok too!

I sold a house and lost all the profits on PPC. Im not kidding. I handed every cent over to Google, within a period of about 6 months. Was about $20,000.

I wasnt phased by it at all, infact it only made me more determined.

Needless to say, I now concentrate my efforts on organic traffic.

Personally i don`t stay with one business model , i prefer to have different models to work with , and i plan my day time according to the priorities of each one of them, i think that is better way to not feel boring and to not lose everything when you lose your only business model.

I don't stay focused on one business model. I have numerous business models and I continually build on my businesses. I don't think it's wise to have all your eggs in one basket.
