Gain more experience in just social media or?

I've been working in one of the best advertising agencies in the country as a Social Media Manager for an year and a half with a variety of clients. I can tell that I'm not learning that much anymore and I have great experience in that branch already. I can now move and look for jobs in the same position and probably get a higher pay or I can work for a global gaming company as a "Mobile User Acquisition', which will include being an account manager too. I gain completely different skills there. If I'll be looking to move to another country later on, what is more valuable? Senior in just social media or gaining more experience in the whole industry?

Well, if you are skilled already in online marketing try to figure out what are people's needs, desires, wishes etc. With that skill you can invest some money and start your own online store which should be profitable after small investment due to your skills.

Become your own man, don't make someone else rich when you have option to be successful easily... If there is anything you need more to know, simple guideline or good google search pm me, i'll be glad to help ^^ WarriorForum newbie

It seems as if you have already provided the answer in your question.

You say "I can tell that I'm not learning that much anymore and I have great experience in that branch already."

So, my question is, what do you mean when you ask, "what is more valuable? Senior in just social media or gaining more experience in the whole industry?"

If you're asking what can you immediately make more money doing, it is probably what you've been doing - you know, the thing that you seem to be burning out on. If you're asking what will be more valuable to you in terms of your overall knowledge, it's certainly taking a position which may pay less, but adds to your overall knowledge.

We've had a couple of very successful students in our course that started off doing things for companies and after they learned so much, they decided to take those skills, build their own websites and start cashing in on all of that knowledge. Many have never worked a "real job" since. They are making more on their own with their own websites than they ever got paid by a company to do those same things for.

So, what do you think? Did you answer your own question or not? I don't think anybody here is more qualified than you are to decide your life's path.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I do want to specialize in more areas than one. I'm already working on a private label business for quite a while now. It just takes a lot of time and resources. Hopefully it will launch soon.

Yeah, it doesn't take long to realize that all of these "push button money making machine" scams are bogus. You find out real quick that eCommerce is a real business and that in order to succeed for the long term, it takes a considerable amount of time, effort and skills and lacking those, it often takes a considerable amount of money.
