ok so Im really new to IM, and i have a budget of $160 to buy tools/gadgets or w/e.

MY GOALS

i just want to make enough money through IM so i dont have to work outside of the net. (1500 a month)

i have no knowledge of HTML or website building. ive recently learned about affiliate marketing through moreniche.com and dont really know where to start.

ive looked at this too called sitebuilder elite and it looks like awesome (from the website adleast) but i cant find any reviews on it and im kinda leaning toward it not being legit

what products/strategies would you guys reccommend for a total newbie like myself?

Thanks in advance, Matrix

Actually, that's good advice. Keep the rest of your money in your pocket until you've read through the War Room posts, made notes about which business models you like, whose posts you like reading, etc.

Learn the IM language and discover which Warriors give valuable free advice before you start spending money.

Then map out your business plan on paper (or use a free web ap named freemind -- just google it), make a list of tools you need to implement it, and make sure you leave yourself at least $20 for web hosting and a domain name -- but you may not even these those right away if you can test out your business model first using free websites.

Enjoy your new adventure and good luck to you!

I really have to agree with Michael. The War Room has saved me literally thousands of dollars in regards to information products and software.

One thing that I would caution you on, is the massive amount of information in there. What I suggest is to pick a particular method of marketing (say article marketing, or what have you), and use the forum search tool WITHIN the War Room sub forum to get specific and quality information, products, etc. on that marketing technique. This will ensure that you don't get overwhelmed.

Completely agree. Pick something you feel passionate about or else it will be really hard to have the drive to learn everything you need to know. Also you may want to start just by cruising these public threads.

I agree! My sister's been on here for less than a year and is so excited about the people and info on this site, that I decided to join as well. It's easy to get overwhelmed because every thread is so interesting and full of data (which more often than not, leads you to ask yourself questions, which leads to more online research because you may not know exactly what they are talking about ) So, stay focused. Pick a couple of areas to focus on. Read. Learn. Develop. But pick something you LOVE! The rest (and $$$$$) will follow!

Thanks for recommending The War Room. I need to sign up soon myself.

I agree with you about the information - there's tons of it. So, to keep from getting overwhelmed I just do my best to learn a little each day. When you learn something that's interesting to you, keep learning more about that thing until you can potentially create income out of it. From my experience and reading about successful entrepreneurs and internet success stories you can strike it rich of really anything. The key ingredient I think that separates those that make it from those that don't is consistency. Do a little every day and don't give up and success will find you. Money will follow.

While there's a ton of good advice here, this is the best advice of the lot.

Read everything on this forum and figure out what appeals to you. Then go forward on that advice ONLY. Focus on that and don't let anything pull you away. Don't let anything seduce you into checking out how something else works. And, for god's sake, don't get sucked into buying the latest/greated whatever.

There's a ton of good stuff here that will give you an idea of what to do.

Read XFactor's posting in the Adsense section.
Read Keith Kogane's posting to see what he does.

Or, if you're interested in affiliate marketing, read Ken Evoy's (now free) ebooks on preseeling and making your knowledge sell.

Before you spend any money, figure out the area you're interested in. Figure out what you're passionate about and only then go forward with what makes sense.

You don't have to spend money - especially in the beginning. Read everything and then decide.

Sometimes that's easier said than done, but it's true.

I am sure all of us have once or twice fallen for some product and hype that we didn't really need.

This is part of the game, but...

Just keep that in mind and try to pinch yourself before you spend some money and ask yourself if it really brings you forward with your chosen strategy.

Essentially making money online boils down to two things:

        1. Making a great offer to a starving crowd (buyers)
        2. Drive traffic to that offer

Point one could be many things.
        - Affiliate offers
        - AdSense site
        - Your own product
        - eBay store site etc.

And then of course traffic, which could be from:
        - Article Marketing
        - SEO
        - PPC etc.

So, pick ONE strategy from each point above and get going.

Perhaps for newbies I would recommend to go for the AdSense model (Xfactor's course mentioned here might be a good fit) or... Affiliate review sites (Longer learning curve. Need to learn how to pick high converting offers and pre-sell them)

For traffic, perhaps he easiest low-risk strategy is Article Marketing to begin with on EzineArticles.com.

Well you don't have to spend a lot. I started out without money.

All you need is hosting/domainname... I recommend Hostgator
There are a bunch of sites where you can get free templates for your website, so you don't need to spend money on a layout

A layout shouldn't be anything fancy...a simple squeezepage will do.

Anyway I built my website myself. It's not that hard. I see you have technical skills so that should be piece of cake for you.

Also this is VERY IMPORTANT... You need a great autoresponder....definitely go for Aweber!

If you don't know anything about marketing then sign up for free newsletters from gurus such as Eben Pagan, Frank Kern, Mike Filsaime, John Reese, Ewen Chia. I barely scratched the surface. These guys send very useful information and for you left to do is....soak it up. Soak all information up that they give! You don't need to buy fancy products if you don't have money. =P

Or go to www.thirtydaychallenge.com and learn the basics of marketing for FREE.

Also, save a little money for PPC .... but I would save this for last and first try to generate FREE traffic.

Really you don't need a lot of money to get started.

Don't buy anything until you've clarified this:

        Carefully consider/choose your business model.

Clarity is a huge part of IM success.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

        1. Products
        2. Services

        That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

        Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

        1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

        2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

I see someone has already recommended affiliate marketing. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

        3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

        Pick just ONE!

        1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

        2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

        3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS!

        F -- Follow
        O -- One
        C -- Course
        U -- Until
        S -- Successful

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you're REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

        Hope this helps!

You certainly don't have to join the war room. Actually, you don't have to buy any kind of information at all. All you have to do is to read through all the marketing forums on the net and you will start putting 1 and 1 together. Google "affiliate marketing forums" and "affiliate marketing blogs" and start soaking up everything. Don't go and buy stuff you don't know for certain that you will use. Actaully, don't buy anything the first few weeks of learning.

If i were you though, i would not start with affiliate marketing. Starting out with a blogger.com blog and Google AdSense is probably the easiest way (and totally free) for a beginner, with no HTML knowledge and no affiliate marketing experience, to make some money online. The reason adsense is better than affiliate marketing to start with is that it's way easier to see immediate results, because you get paid per click and not per sale/lead. Immediate results, even though they might be just pennies, will then motivate you to continue pushing your blog to higher levels. Then, when you have realized that it is possible to make some money online you can go and learn about affiliate marketing. But.. that's just what i would do.

There is no magic pill to success. After spending $$$ and hours of time it comes down to just a few things.

    *Focus
    *Action
    *Persistance

Don't get hung up on perfection. Find something you like and just do it. I've wasted a lot of time and energy thinking that everything had to be perfect. If you wait until you think everything is perfect you will go nowhere.

I'm not saying to jump blindly into something; just make sure you set a goal and move towards it. It's easy to get sidetracked and find that you've spent a boat load of money and time without getting any closer to success.

I've learned more in the last month by taking action than I did the last 11 months sitting around reading and dreaming about success.

These are wise words indeed. You can download and read 100 information products but it will not do a thing for you until you put something into action. That is the #1 mistake I made. I could have put myself two months ahead if I would have just done *something*

Act now. Write something. Whether it's an article or an e-mail to a mentor or an action plan. Commit yourself to adding value to the world and do it often. That's the key.

Having said all that, the 37 bucks I put into the War Room was the best ROI I've seen in a long time.

I forgot to give some advice

The best thing you can do when you're just starting out is find something that already works for someone else, and than just duplicate it. Creativity and innovation have great appeal, but they're quite lethal when you're a beginner.

Now, here's what you can do for $160 bucks...

        1. Buy a hosting (but wait until you've prepared everything else). If I were you I would go for cheapest reliable hosting. You can find on on Namecheap.com ($39.95/year, and you can even pay it monthly). It's only one domain hosting, but you should focus on making one site work. If you want to make more than one site go for Bluehost.com. But than again they are about $85/year and that's more than 50% of your capital.

        2. Get a domain. It's less than $10. I personally use Namecheap, but any reliable registrar will do. (Also wait until you've prepared everything else)

        3. Now, IT'S DUPLICATING TIME! Find some good ebook, in good market, that sells good, as far as you can tell. Get some facts, don't base this decision on feelings. Buy it, borrow it, steal it, whatever. You'll rewrite this book in your own words (It will take you less than 7 days. I was ignorant enough to spend 4 months writing my own book, and ended up with mediocre results. You can have GREAT results in 7 days.)

        4. Make 1-Page sales letter for your book. You can do 2-step model if you like. It's a very good strategy, but it will require some more work, and some money for autoresponder (GetResponse, aweber, etc).

        5. Shell out $50 to join ClickBank, as a merchant, of course. Now you can sell your book. CB has some 100,000 affiliates or so, and you have a good chance of getting some affiliates there.

        6. Announce your affiliate program where you can for free. You'll find some affiliate forums and directories. Join IM forums like this one, learn about free IM techniques (since you don't have money yet), and promote your affiliate program at the same time. There are many affiliates here, and some will be interested. You can also make some joint ventures.

        7. Once you make some sales, do some paid marketing. PPC, paying to promote your aff program to aff communities, ads on relevant sites, etc.

There you have it. For $160 and 30 days of focused work, you will have your own online business. From that point on, every effort you make will add to your business, unlike when you're working for someone else.

Just remember, your key to success here is SIMPLICITY. Keep it simple. (Ebook, 1-page sales letter is a good option). You don't need to find out everything there is about IM to start. In fact, I strongly advise against it because you'll end up overwhelmed with too many information, too many options. Just focus on 1 thing that will do the trick, and start working on it NOW.

Sorry if "duplicating" part insults somebody. But that's reality.

    Hi matrix1989,

There a couple of ways to go about. In fact, there are 2 major ways which are,

    a) Free - Article Marketing/SEO
    b) Paid - Paid advertising/PPC/Media Buy

All right, since you have only $160 to spend, seriously, I advise you to brush up on your market research skill. This is paramount as you will want to know what your market likes, dislike, demand and buying power. After that, go learn keyword research. In keyword research, don't need to be perfect. If you know what your market wants, keyword research is easy. Next, you may want to put up some article in web 2.0 properties like, squidoo, hubpages, weebly. All these will help you easily rank for some keywords.

During this stage, you may want to buy a domain to do a domain forwarding to whatever product you are promoting. It cost you around $1 to $10 depending on where you buy your domain.

After that, once everything is set up, it is just focus on your marketing effort and keep tuning.

    Hope this helps

As far as newbie friendly website software, go with 90 second website builder. Pretend to leave the page and they will knock the price from $77 to $57.

Info products usually suck so be careful before you hit the buy button.

Read this forum, Jon Volk's blog and past posts on Cash Tactics (especially the ones that Ruck did).

CT alone will take you some time to truly absorb and understand.

Get a hosting package from bluehost and domain from go daddy. Build a lander and start promoting with what you learned... then test, test, test.

    Best,
    Corey

I agree with everyone who say war room.

Also, don't spend any money until you have a plan. It sounds like affiliate marketing is your preference so check out clickbank.com, commission junction, etc (google -affiliate sites- for more options) and read their 'how to' join, get involved, etc. A lot of these sites have forums all about affiliate marketing as well so that will help.

Start spending money after you have a plan, researched your niche, and found a market for your products. Then you will want to spend money on autoresponders and website hosting (sometimes even that is free).

If you want a more detailed plan, buy books on affiliate marketing to get a couple guru's perspective. Ewen Chia has a very detailed book recommended by Allen Says, Warrior Room Founder, and others. I refer to it all the time.

      Good Luck!

I agree with those above who have said you need a plan. It is not enough to just have a target goal of $1500/mo. You need more specific targeted goals.

Like mentioned above, you can find a lot of information and learn a lot of things from this forum and in the war room. Do your due diligence first until you find something that just clicks. Once you finally get something that you just "get" then you need to make a plan and go forward with it.

I also like the idea of trying the 30 day challenge as it gets you in that "mode" so to speak as to take action. Lack of action is usually one of the biggest causes of failure.

$160 is also not very much to invest in anything so, I would try to put away a couple more dollars and research until you get around $500 at least.

If you are having trouble raising money, the freelance route and service route is a good way to go. If you become good at one of the services, you can easily overcome the $1500/mo requirement without a problem. Then again though, you will be working for someone and would be similar to a 9-5.

Wish you the best of luck!

I just reviewed "affiliate sniper" to use as an affilate product. They have great information on how to get started without spending a dime. It is alot more work than using software but I think its good to get an understanding of what the software needs to do before buying it anyway. The authors were George Brown and Alex? sure you can find it by searching affiliate sniper and I believe George is a member on here.
Just remembered thirtydaychallenge was great too - and free.
Good Luck - its hard at first but well worth it.

What I did (because my wife said I could only spend what I made online, and it made getting started very difficult) was sign up for an account at freelancing sites (I prefer Odesk).

I wrote/rewrote articles for people. While it takes some time and until you have some positive reviews you may not make much per article, it will cover monthly expenses like hosting/autoresponder/memberships etc.

Granted, this detracts from time spent actually working on your own business, it allows you to break even or even make a little extra money while you are starting out online. I focused on getting jobs writing articles related to building a business online and actually learned little bit while I was working.

Plus, once you establish a budget for expenses per month for hosting and the like, you will know how much work you need to do freelancing to cover the minimal starting costs.

      This is really inept advice.

Why would joining a place where 99% of the bulldung is filtered out cause you to chase your tail around for the next 6 months?

Your aim is to make money so you want to be looking to spend as little of your budget as possible....

Honestly all of the info you need to start is out there, for free. You buy helpful tools after you start making money.

My advice is that the 1 essential you need to get started is Web Hosting. You're going to want your own website pretty soon after starting, this is the one essential thing you can't get for free.

Why buy anything, particularly a web design product when you have no web design skills. Moreniche gives you free templates to use with their products. Use one of them or several of them. You will still need the domain names for them so that's a minor expense. You'll also need hosting. I use hostmonster. Cheap and reliable.

Get some experience with creating blogs and blogging before you go spending any money. Build your moreniche site(s). Ask a lot of questions. Read a lot.

While I choose to promote private affiliate programs , click bank or pay dot com could give you an idea for a product .

Understand click bank makes you jump through hoops to get paid the first time . Pay dot com usually works better for the newbie but research the vendor as I have heard horror stories about affiliates not getting paid . I have used them quiet a bit and only have been screwed once .

    So far total investment $0.00

Now go to seo book . com and do some keyword research. Look for keywords that command as many searches a day as possible with less than 50,000 competition.

    Total investment $0.00

By now you should have a product and some good keywords to get some organic traffic .

Go to yola . com. They will host up to 5 websites for you and their wysiwyg editor is very user friendly . No need to know HTML. No ads

    Total cost $0.00

I would invest in a good autoresponder but since we are bumming all the way ... do a google search for free autoresponder .

Set up a capture page with a freebie that is not only relevant to the product you want to sell but actually compliments the product .

The deal is you are giving away the freebie , building a list , redirecting from the ar to your affiliate link.

Take those keywords you picked up and write articles with them and send visitors to your capture page via the resource box .

    Total expense $0.00

Now there is easier ways to make money online ... just not many that cost as little to get started .

A capture page is a page designed to hype up your giveaway .

You will put your autoresponder code on it . If you use yola this can all be done with copy and paste ease .

People sign up for your freebie so in essence you are capturing their information .

    Hi Matrix1989!

The plan that Troy Phillips give you is awesome... but I will suggest you to spent $10 to buy your own domain name and use wordpress to create a site (blog) then pay the host fees.

Then use article marketing, social marketing to drive traffic to your website, an make money...

A Capture page is a simple page built to capture: name and emails of your visitors (with their permission) You just have to offer a something for free: ebooks, audio, or videos...

Just wondering why you would suggest word press ?

I have used yola and weebly sites ... their subdomain. Ranked the site for the keyword on google one in less than a week.

Now I agree that later on your own domain name is a good thing . The same can be said with the autoresponder . I suggest getting them both right of the bat . I have no affiliation with yola but they will sell you the domain name(your own dot com)and host it for one year for less than $20.

Hard to beat that deal if you are new to the whole HTML thing plus a beginner can plug all the seo in the sidebar .

There is just no proof that wordpress ... blog or static site will rank in any order.

What guarantees ranking is quality content arranged in a way that the keywords are easy for the spiders to find and incoming links (admitedly simplified version) .

Not busting anyone's chops here ..... Just saying that because you hear that one thing is the way to go does not make it true . No matter how many times you hear it .

Don't put too much pressure on yourself to make X amount of money by day X. I've found that when I do that to myself, sometimes it leads to me making "desperate" purchases in an effort to make quick cash.

Especially for those just starting out, there is no substitute for getting your hands dirty and setting up your own basic site, and doing free promotional methods like article marketing and social promotions.

Warrior Mindset and Warrior Attitude is important when starting out. Follow some of the forum leaders and study their ways. Allen (admin) and Paul Myers got it and give it graciously. Most of us here have learned much from them. Although Allen once told me something like "Don't try to be me.. be yourself and be a Warrior." Something like that. He is right. Paul once advised me to take my training and push forward with competence. He was right. I am the better for it.

Willie Crawford taught me that a sound "personal foundation" is essential today and more importantly for tomorrow. Whatever you decide to venture into know yourself, your abilities, your inabilities, etc. but know your inner self. It is important.

Steve (seasoned) taught me to watch my back. As many good people there are here there are also some really bad people. It is people like Steve and those that I mentioned that keep some of us out of a lot of trouble.

Ken Troyer and Suzanne Morrison have taught me how to focus and maintain a passionate perspective in my day to day dealings with all things business, but more importantly all things human. Think hard about when you work with customers about what you can do for them that will make their tasks and lives better.

Hope you succeed in all that you strive for and remember to give as much as you can here and out there.

    Jeffery 100% :-)

P.S. Do you wake up in the middle of the night with a sudden rush of ideas, sweating, and pushing yourself to your computer to make it happen?

I think you should try to make your first buck first and then maybe invest in something.

    May I suggest..?

IM has a lot to do with having the right mindset and having consistency.

    Truth is... many things work.

    PPC works
    Article Marketing works
    AdSense works
    JVs work

    etc.

But the most important thing is...

Getting in front of a STARVING CROWD and giving them exactly what they are hungry for.

Once you do that, you don't need to be a great sales person. They'll eat up everything you have to offer.

Getting there takes an adjustment of your MINDSET... so you are able to spot the hungry crowds.

You don't develop that mindset by buying a software or a tool.

    Anyway...

I also think the War Room is great to start. Essentially it's good to pick a marketing strategy that does not involve big up-front investment (like PPC) and then stick to it until you see results.

Article Marketing might be ideal, but I would also stay away from the IM niche in the beginning...

    Why?

If you are trying to market to other marketers and you are a beginner, they will spot it easily and you might not be able to convince them to buy from you (or through your link)... This will only frustrate you... There are many niches out there where people are "STARVING", but actually don't know what Internet Marketing is. Some of these are also pretty competitive and not ideal for beginners too, so... it's a fine balance.

Look around for some good posts on niche selection and for some posts on how to do article marketing. Then try to make a free website with WordPress and start driving traffic to it with articles and try to make your first sale.

All of that information is available here on the Warrior Forum!

Once you make that first sale you'll never forget the feeling :-) It's amazing.

This might be not everything there is to it, but I hope it helps a little.

    Hey Matrix,
absolute Kudos for your balls, guts and determination.

I'm not saying you can't do it with that budget, but if you could start with a little more (at least double or triple it) you will save yourself some serious sweat.

Maybe even just borrow like $300 or put it on a credit card or something. There's a lot you've got to go through and there's a lot of free info out there, but some things cost money.

Personally, yeh, buy into war room because then you're supporting this extremely helpful forum and there is SO much on the inside of that private forum, it's hard to fully grasp what a steal this is.

    matrix,

It seems like you're really fresh off the turnip truck (no offense meant here, we all had to start somewhere), and I'd caution against buying ANY tools/stuff right now because it's just going to result in information overload and confusion.

A good place to start would be War Room membership ($37), as it'll give you access to the War Room and all the good stuff in there. Hang out in the warrior forum as much as you can, observe and ask questions, and try to get a feel for what you'd like to do. There are many aspects to IM, and you must first familiarize yourself with them, and then decide on a path to take. Don't be in a hurry to select a path or method that you might regret later, due to not getting all the facts initially.

You almost certainly want to get yourself familiar with blogging, as it is very helpful to know how to set up a blog no matter what you do in IM. A good place for free Wordpress video tutorials can be found here - Free WordPress Tutorial Videos , you can go straight to the blogger.com site for video tutorials on how to set up blogs there.

Withhold the urge to spend anything beyond the War Room membership just yet. Educate yourself through this forum and the free resources you'll find just from communicating with the members here! Don't dive into things when it's pretty obvious you're still not really sure what you want to do yet - get all the facts first.

you dont need to buy anything, except if you have your own digital products i would get DLguard.

Save the money for domains and hosting, and from the rest you can hire people for SEO (backlinks) or writing.

Know, you want to MAKE money..not think about how to SPEND it. Please take this advice!

I myself started with ZERO also..the rest is learning and doing.

Oooh, War room membership WAS good advice.

I have found many useful things there.

Ok, so some people just want to get you on their list but it's ok, I can unsubscribe if I don't like them, which I have, or I learn keep receiving their emails because I like the emails.

Anyway, get the War Room membership and go from there. I really will not tell you what else I think you should buy because I think everyone has their own journey (oops, starting to sound like one of those reality shows where people like to find love and always talk about this special journey they're on, and really are just talking about how this 6 week show will make them famous for 15 minutes, ok, way off track here).

Anyway, ya, just do the War Room first and foremost and decide where you want to go from there. I also suggest you educate yourself just be reading this forum and learn more about article marketing and SEO.

    Hi Matrix 1989,
After reading this response to your single query, you must be wiser now. Being a newbie myself, that is what has happened to me also. I got a ton of information and direction where I should go from this thread. My thanks to you.

The first thing you need is Market Samurai, but you can start off with it free, go grab the free trial to get started. Hopefully you can get your market research done during the trial, and be off and making money, so you can upgrade to the full version. Go through all of their free training BEFORE you start your free trial, so you can hit the ground running.

If you are not already a War Room member, that should be #2, so you have access to everything, and can place a WSO here. (Might want to hold on to $20 for that WSO.) You can learn a lot from people here. Just make sure you don't follow everyone's directions, choose a method and stick with one method for now.

#3 You need a domain name.

#4 You need hosting. (Since your hosting is recurring, you might need more than one month's fees out of your $160.)

#5 Get busy. This is of course free, but often the most overlooked ingredient.

If you're with Moreniche, they already have a boatload of free templates for their affiliates to use. Try them. It's still going to be a challenge getting a site up with a template because you do need some skills to edit the template and to upload, etc. I wouldn't buy a fancy html editor if I were you. I'd find a free one and work with that. No matter how much you pay for an html editor, you still need basic site making skills. Your time would be well spent in learning how to build a site, and how to get a Wordpress blog up and running.

If you are you are looking for the highest Return On Investment (ROI), then it has to be the WAR ROOM. For $37 you'll save thousands. In fact I'd say the $37 investment is probably worth $3700, if not more....

    HI

First buy a domain.... with to keywords in it that related to your topic you are interested in making money with...

Next get a cheap hosting account and pay for 1 year.. cost maybe $60-$70 per yer.

Then invest in a program like wordflood.com so you can rewrite plr articles..

Buy some plr article packages related to your domain..

Now install wordpress on the domain..

Add some of the articles to it you have rewritten..

Now apply for adsense... so you can start making money from your site.

Go to clickbank and find some products related to your site you can add to your blog.

Now start submitting some articles to the article directories to start building backlinks.. and also submit your site to link directories..

you can free software online to do both.

Hope this helps to start.. all can be done for under $160

    Thanks
    Tom

Hi, Don't do anything at first. Read the forums and free sites like mine below. Focus on keyword research (don't buy any tools), pick a market you are interested in that has good affiliate products, then focus your learning on seo and article marketing.

Don't get distracted by all the offers whizzing around. When you pick a niche make sure your business medel is one that lasts, not one that just promotes the next big thing. For instance I have a bodybuilding blog, with a capture page and then offer affiliate products. My business is centred on bodybuilding rather than one affiliate product and the site will keep getting visitors because of my seo efforts. Hope this helps.

Don't spend any of your money. You can generally find anything online for free in some format or other. Try clickbank. They're a good way to get started in IM. I've been making money through them for almost 10 years now. They send you a check ever 2 weeks. It's a great program for affiliate marketing. But save your money buddy.

Remember that 91% of Internet Marketers who tried to earn money online in the past year have not earned a penny. This is a fact from a recent survey. I believe it.

    1. Find a good honest mentor. The War Room is excellent!
    2. Never go by your gut feelings. Divorce your own opions from the masses. The masses will fool you nearly every time.
    3. Be patient and persistent. Find free ways to promote your online business.

    Good luck my friend.

    1. Create a valuable product.
    2. Create a sales page.
    3. Drive traffic to it.
    4. Watch the $$$ come to your bank account.

    ****

That's the super-uber-simplified version of how to make money with your own products. If you don't know anything then just take an existing product which sells well, make a better version of it and have better marketing.

Oh, you want to know where to invest your money? I'm not a member of the WarRoom but as you've read in this thread: There seems to be a lot of value there, so that's what I suggest, too.

I am new as a member of this forum, not new to IM or wandering around this forum. Lots of great advice here. I will probably be joining the War Room because of all the praise for its value.

My only caution would be to set a certain amount of time for research and learning on the Warrior Forum. Early on, it is fine to spend a lot of time here, but once you complete that stage, get off it and go take action. Does not matter if you are not successful right out of the gate. Probably won't be. But by taking action, you get experience and discover what mistakes were made. The next project, site, or campaign will be that much better for it.

Don't get sucked into spending all your time on forums like this, although this one (WF) is the best. I would venture to guess that there are people who spend way too much time here and not enough time building their business and taking action. What I am saying is this is a great place to gather information, but set a limit to how much time you spend here.

Nothing is going to substitute the actual "doing" part of it.

Here is another great thread like this one. I have it bookmarked.

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ll-you-do.html

I took some good advice. If you have a service to offer, do that and then learn IM as you make money from selling your service.

Another bit of good advice was, find something you think is working (making money) and duplicate that starting out. Which is what I am doing for my WSO. The only difference is that I am trying to give more value for the customers money. I saw a WSO (warrior special offer) and said to myself, I think I can do a better job than that. Yes it will be more work, but I want to establish a reputation for quality and I want to grow my business.

My starting budget is $100 given to me as gift. So far I have spent $37 on the Warrior Forum. 8 bucks on a domain name. Free website on weebly.com and I'll spend another $20 on a WSO (warrior special offer). $65 total so far. My goal is to double my return on investment, which I think is possible inside of December and I am sure I can do it inside of Dec-Jan. Of course I have spent a lot of time just learning what I am doing...about two weeks in my spare time putting this all together, but I consider that an investment as well. It's better than sitting around watching TV!

Good luck to all my fellow newbies out there. Let's make some money!

Matrix, the first thing you have to do is build a plan of action. Define what you want to do and how you are going to do it, break everything down into a sequence of logical steps.

Then identify what you need in order to achieve what you want and then spend your money on that.

    Thanks,

wow, lots of ideas, and advice here.......well I am a newbie too.....and I have been here for three days now and trying to read as much as possible...and this post has more to offer and which makes sense to a newbie....I boought the $1promotional hosting from Host The Name......and the domain for 5yrs and cj wordpress, the biz mgr.......I think all of them cost me a total of $100. (hosting for 1Yr). All of them I think from warrior promotion. I will follow thru with many of the advice here...
But I also saw a member offering basic web design 4 pages for $25.actually first three for $15.......and another full site for $465 for ready to go(turn key)affiliate site on your domain with promise to make $60-100.(in 6 month) Debating whether to get the ready made one instead of going thru all the time that i have to put building this.......I guess i should just keep reading and take it in before i decide on anything....So Thank you all for all your great information, your knowledge, experience and helping others. May be one day I can do this.....hopefully soon!!

    1. Join the War Room. Put your money back in your pocket and read. Just relax, set the money aside.

    2. Buy a domain, once you have a nice solid idea of what you're going to do and what would be a good domain to do it from. NameCheap is often recommended. I use GoDaddy, but most people hate them.

    3. Get a web hosting account, and start building a web site. Using HostGator for the hosting and WordPress for the building is frequently recommended.

You should still have about $100 at this point, along with a much better idea of what you're doing and why you're doing it and how to proceed.

I've really got alot from reading this myself, also a total newbie to the forum. I cannot wait to become a full member of this place!

If after joining, you're still looking for nich idea's, maybe it's something so nich that members here haven't even thought of it yet, etc. I'd do a seach for a chap called James Jones... He's tool called 'Micro Nich Finder' is what gave me an interest with the whole idea of IM and finding the best nich to market too, at the right time! This Is what I intend to do myself. Don't fall fail to wasting $160 on PPC expecting great things from the off. Sure, you might get a few bucks, but think before you hit something that'll hurt if it all goes 'pete tong!'

    Hi!

I'm kind of a newbie to IM myself but the past weeks of trying the find out what I'm suppose to be doing to make money I happily discovered that alot of things are actually Free.

In fact it seems to be the new thing to do, give away a few free things before getting them to buy. Therefore your money could go along way!

What do you guys think about that ?

Just try some stuff out. Everyone has different opinions on what software is better. Personally I like magic submitter better then SE Nuke, but I have both of them. SE Nuke does a good job and is updated frequently, as with magic submitter. Magic submitter you can add sites to, and there are a lot of videos to show you what you need to do.

The best spinner, in my opinion is the best spinner. I love it and use it daily with my projects.

Article marketing robot is my choice for article marketing software though I just started using it so I don't have a great review for it yet.

    * Tools are not going to make money for you, just so you know. There is no magic bullet or everyone would use it and it wouldn't work anymore. It is really up to you and what kind of backlinks you like to build.

I forgot to mention scrapebox, scrapebox is probably the most powerful tool you can buy for the price. It is a one time fee and it has great updates. It is mainly used for scraping blog, and commenting on them but also has many other uses.

    Good Luck
