Do you market with YouTube or want to? I'm curious about how many people are doing this?

Yeah, the traffic it brings is very targeted and therefore relatively easy to convert into sales.

Yeah I use them as well. I always make a small slideshow video with music when I launch a site or start to promote a product.

I use Video and YouTube to drive traffic all the time.

Depending on the topic of your video, you can drive some decent traffic to your sites.

I have videos that generate a couple of hundred views a month, while others do more than 1000 per month. It just depends on your optimization, how you set up your account and video, your topic, relevancy, the level of info, tags etc.

I think people are missing out on a big opportunity if they don't use video... (just my opinion).

    All the best,
    Steven

How do you guys create the videos? Do you use a webcam at 640x480? Or do you use a video camera? Then do you re-encode it for YouTube? Down to 320x240 or something like that? What do you use for the recode? Oh and how do you watermark the vid? Just wondering. I am about to create a video for my latest product.

Video is a very high communication medium since most people are watching them and they are more emotional than just text. Video content creation and traffic generation should be on the list for a well-rounded marketing campaign.

Consider using services like Animoto.com to spice up your videos.

Free distribution resources like TubeMogul.com can give you a lot more market reach than just using YouTube for no extra effort.

You can make videos in many different ways. You can video a powerpoint, do talking head, or use screen capture. Either way, it's easy and you should be doing it.

Remember to add a URL title slide to the end of your video, or a watermark embedded throughout the video.

    Yeah.

But the quality just sucks. Unless you are only trying to make money off contextual advertising.

There are several ways that you can market with videos on YouTube.

If you treat your videos just like article marketing you can get a massive amount traffic.

If you really want to go for the traffic it becomes a numbers game just like everything else.

And because it's a numbers game you have to spend the least amount of time possible making your videos.

    Short and sweet.

You could do simple reviews of websites with screen cam videos, or you can convert articles into videos. You don't even have to appear on camera you could use Windows movie maker and use images, graphics, music, text overlays etc.

Actually you don't even have to get that extravagant.

The main thing you want to concentrate on is not necessary the quality of your video, but in your selection of your tags and keywords in your description.

I do a lot of marketing on youtube with very good results. Effectiveness depends a lot on the niche you are targeting and the suitability of your product.

For example selling weapons or adult clothing would be easy where as insurance or accounting packages would be very difficult.

Some points to keep in mind are
-site url at beginning and end of video or through out using watermark
    -site url in video discription
-good use of key words in title and video description, think of it as video SEO
-if possible build a good list of friends/subscribers.

I personally go for quality over quantity because videos with more views and comments get ranked higher on youtube and on google. Crap just picks up a few views and sinks to obscurity.

Absolutely. It works especially well when you shoot a series of video that are inter-related to each other.

make sure to give them just enough content to drive curiosity but always lead them to a squeeze page to capitalize on your traffic

I do too but i use contemporary ideas than what the average marketers normally use..

It does help bring in traffic and sale

The idea is to interest them enough with good quality videos that they are interested to check out your sites.

doesn't make any real sense not to market with video. Most people are still afraid of using it though. Ego thing I would guess, afraid to get in front of a camera.

I wish there was a better solution to slide videos than powerpoint though. I wish there was some product that was a combo between Ovation and Powerpoint that was smokin easy to use.

Then people could make slideshow videos that were cool and good quality.
