How can my son monetize this?

So my son want to start a website where he showcases new and up and coming comedians.

How can he monetize this?

There are some gag gifts, joke books, and funny gifts on Amazon but I don't think that this is the best way to monetize.

Maybe down the road he can charge people who want to be featured, but not yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks

A directory of comedians from across the land where they pay to be listed into that directory, that would fall into the featured thinking where those that wanted to be featured in the directory would pay a higher fee.

Don't know if one already exists ? > https://www.funnyguys.com.au/ < here you go on a very quick search, so do some homework into what every one is doing, this one has a blog so that would be used to do your showcases etc, then maybe attach your ads for the amazon ads to this platform, but see who is in the fight first and if you want to match it up to them ?

    Just Ideas.

Looking at how existing comedian websites are monetized will give you ideas. Here is a list that will give you a good source for your research:

    Hi Stu,

I love the idea of selling Associates comedy stuff thru Amazon. Perfect for a kid - I am guessing - with a comic site, who has not his own merch to sell. Plus Jeffrey is spot on. Observe comic sites for monetizing ideas. Spot patterns.

My guess is that a lot of the visitors may hope to become comedians themselves. You might be able to find courses or books about "How to do Stand Up" that have affiliate offers.

I don't see there is much different doing SEO for an e-commerce website. If you can handle other websites then obviously the rule will be the same. You need to research your website keywords, research competitor and then start building backlins for it. But be careful not to build low-quality links. This will not help you to rank website easily. All the best!

What do you think? It would be better for her?

I would start with this: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...+be+a+comedian I am sure there are biographies for comedians. I would sell comedy videos.. and all this stuff I would have the kiddo write reviews - with the PERSPECTIVE of a kiddo.

Content is critical.. and the PERSPECTIVE of that content and who you are targeting is even more so.
