Hi guys,

I got a quick Q for the traffic masters out there:

for a free traffic strategy ,

how long you keep implementing it in order to determine if it's worth your time?

I's say 6 months

what about you ?

Aside from say SEO where you can actually go in and see your progress prior to the point of actually seeing results, most everything else that I can think of IE social or banner swap or whatever else should be fairly instant.

We do the opposite. When we build a website, we test it with advertising to see if it can generate enough sales to be worth our time spending on SEO and other free traffic venues. If it can't at least break even with advertising in the first couple of months, we won't waste time on it anymore and we'll move on to our next niche website idea.

What free traffic sources are you currently trying or have tried and given up on?

I think it really depends on the strategy... in most cases, I'd say 6 months in the min..

Six months is a good timeframe. You can test with paid traffic before investing months of time.

For me, I usually pick 100 days--and for some reason the next number I pick is 150.

If I am not getting the results I want, after this, then I stop and move onto something else.

The first thing you should do is test different platforms to fish for your audience. I wouldn't ax the free traffic coming from the search engines and referrals. If there is anything that you should put a time limit on is the time spent on platforms that do not have the audience that aren't interested in your services. But you can only establish or confirm by testing different traffic sources.
