(HELP) How to go from broke college student to buying a Lamborghini in a fast period of time?

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum. Just a brief introduction of myself, I've been much business before and it failed. Insurance sales agent, Amazon FBA, now I'm kinda all over the place recently.

I'm 22 years old, my plan was to make it in Fiverr as a sweat equity person, once I hit $5,000 in revenue. I'll start doing Shopify by using 1 product store method. Then from there scale it up then going into Amazon FBA E-Commerce which requires a ton of capitals to start around with.

How's my plan guys?

The problem is I don't have sales coming in my Fiverr accounts, I've run some Google Ads & Fb Ads here and there but nothing significant coming out.

I've learned from many internet marketers from YouTube like Alex Becker, Damian Prosalendis, Dan Lok, Neil Patel, Tanner J Fox (Amazon FBA) and so on.

I've also read dozens of books and going courses from courses like Tai Lopez 12 Foundations to The Good Life, The Millionaire Fastlane (MJ Demarco), Unscripted (Haven't finished it yet).

But the information is so overwhelming and I'm kinda in the shining object syndrome.

Any tips would help this 22-year old university student get success in the online marketing world would be a dream come true for me.

My aspiring materialistic goals was able to buy a Lamborghini Aventador SV in my 20's. Even if I didn't buy it but the means to able to afford it like paying in cash without worrying it like a big deal was the goal to it for me.

Hope any veterans out there already "seen & lived the dream of mine" give any advice to me how to make it big in this online marketing world in 2019 and beyond.

How to gain focus and clarity on the ONE thing that can help me to get the Lambo money (I know just this comment alone can get me a lot of bashes and short-sighted views)

But, I really need some guidance on how to look at a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you very much.

OK. You've still got 7+ years to get your Lambo money. A lot can be done in 7 years, that is, with a GOOD plan, and focus and adjustment.

Right now, you need to ADJUST, because your plan isn't working, is it?

I think you have Lambo GUY overload, and it seems the only thing you have done is to contribute to a list of slicksters, who show off their cars on youtube videos on the way into their McMansions, and tell you this:

"If I did it, so can you. Just follow MY plan, (for whatever amount 29.95 to 25 thousand dollars)."

You're paying for the other guy's lifestyle.

What are studying in college? What do you expect to do with your degree, if anything?

You are not KINDA IN THE SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME, you are rolling around the "fields of gold" but instead of barley and sunshine, it is a field full of dung and a lot of smoke going up places you don't want it to go.

First thing, accept the fact you are NOT Tai, Tanner, Dan or anyone else. Why do you want to be a clone? They represent a very small % of IM success, and their houses are built on sand.

What each of them did do, is, BE THEMSELVES. And this appears to be your problem, but maybe not. You don't know who you are.

You have a lust right now, you want some material things in your life. What do you offer?

What do YOU bring to the table of commerce? What VALUE do you have?

Most of those guys on your list offer HOPE to a demographic just like you. And they have perfected their pitches

Spend two days and REVIEW all the sales pitches, watch the videos again and ask yourself WHY AND WHAT.

Why do they appeal to you? What is it you want (besides a Lambo)?

Instead of getting MORE advice, take a recess. A break from buying, step back and look at all your activity the past year and take a deep breath.

Then, after some THOUGHT, choose one way, which you think matches YOU, a way and plan to utilize your skills, and not follow some phony blueprint, and then execute your new plan, and make ADJUSTMENTS.

    The solution of you is"

Solve Your Problems in the Direction of Your Goals.

But first have goals which are built on who you are and what you want. Then, put blinders on and nose to grindstone, and in 7 years, maybe we can race our Lamebos together, eh?

Thank you very much for the thoughtful reply GordonJ, I very appreciate it.

"Most of those guys on your list offer HOPE to a demographic just like you. And they have perfected their pitches"

The above quote from you sir was definitely spot right on 100%.

Now in the internet marketing space from where I look right now, I feel like I'm ancient and "left out". Like most of those mainstream where I-looked-up-to so- called gurus and influencers found their success right on as early as they are in 18. By the latest, when they're in their 22's they are living the best potential of themselves already.

For now, my plan was to ditch the Fiverr and freelance community and focused on making it on Shopify Dropshipping.

Most of the successful Shopify people on YouTube are around my age, I think most of them are way younger than me (22).

Shopify as the new "American Dream" for young people (14-22)

Like Hayden Bowles buying his Lamborghini with cash at age 18, a guy named champagne on YouTube was making $8,000 at age 17. Dan Dasilva was around 18 too I'm not sure has a Lamborghini, Mercedes AMG. Scott Hilse was 22, making $166,000 selling iPhone cases with just 1 Product Stores and Tanner J Fox driving the Aventador SV, Range Rover buying a house at age 22 doing Amazon FBA.

All these success stories of YouTube at the e-commerce space make me wanted to be one of them ASAP. I feel like this trend of wave is going to be more and more saturated and I don't want to miss them out.

"Solve Your Problems in the Direction of Your Goals"

My directions of the goals was aspired to be one of the success stories above as fast as possible.

I really hope I can get there before I graduate from university.

By the way, I hate every second of it in university. my grades were bad 2.67 GPA, doesn't have friends or peers in university, the reason I stay because I'm not as successful as the level of the "gurus" of YouTube yet or Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates level.

The best practical route is to complete my undergraduate in Communication Studies (Public Relations), it was a goal of mine since back then when I was in high school to get enroll in universities.

And I achieved it and got into one of the prestigious government-funded university in my states, the whole 4-year programme just cost $5,000 American dollar.

So that's my take on it so far.

1st of all you are young... like way young... The greatest lesson you need to learn is patience. "Fast Tracking" without some amount of experience behind it, leads to failure every time.

In order to have "success" you have to have a pattern of success in place if that makes sense. Success begets success. Lets look at your list of people you look up to... There is one subtle thing in common with each and ever one of these guys... do you know what it is? ill give you a moment...

They all work out.. look at images of them.. you can see it. Fitness is one of those things.. actually one of the only things that I can think of that starts to implement the traits of success quickly, and can be done for free. Something as simple as doing situps and pushups for 60 seconds a day... a full on 2 minute work out - Why do this? because when you first start you might get 25 or so in one minute.. do it every day and you start to see the progression - you start to see the success in your actions. This is literally the groundwork to demonstrate consistent action creating consistent results.

Your on fiver, what service do you provide?

Your going to college, what is your major looking like its going to be? How close to a 4.0 are you?

You want to get into Amazon FBA... have you tried Ebay as a base to understand the whole business model? you don't have to flip 60 pairs of shoes to start.. you can start with 1 pair... use it as a stepping stone.. a point of education to learn the ins and outs of retail arbitrage. CREATE a base of success for future greater successes.

So a little about me... I do the 2 minute work out every day.. I can do 40 situp and average about 100 pushups - I do work out more, I have been on the Convict Calisthenics for about 2 years now.. I like the fact there is an APP where I can see my progression.

I am an entrepreneur in the small to medium size business sector. I provide advertising and online services. I build websites do SEO CRO Social Marketing etc.

One of my many side hustles is Retail arbitrage... I don't do Amazon FBA.. I do Ebay, Poshmark, craigslist, and facebook.

Are you starting to see the similarities here? BTW I'm 50. I graduated from MIT with a 3.9 GPA I prefer real estate and high 5 digit Ford trucks over lambos.

Start with implementing the traits of success. excel in school - that means STUDY your ass off. Start small with Ebay or the like, and learn the ins and outs. Learn how to use your circle of influence IE social media to develop success with your fiver gig. start working out if you don't already. start acting TODAY like the person you want to be tomorrow.. and have some patience and it will come.

Putting yourself in the All or nothing mindset... will put you right where you are at right now... Take your time, build a foundation... set goals... and act on experience and not hopes and dreams

Thanks for the thoughtful comment sir,

      I very appreciate it.

As for my GPA goes, I'm currently in my third year with a 2.67 on it.

Before when I got into universities, that was my dream of it, I fought hard, day and night studying, burning the midnight oil to put me in the spot for success.

Times goes by, I realized universities was not the dream anymore and can't promise the "success at a young age as it promises" then I moved into entrepreneurship.

During my 3 years so far, I've been in the insurance industry as a salesperson, Amazon FBA and failed.

Fast forward present, I realized all of these so-called "opportunities" works! But the person executing it (me) doesn't work.

"Putting yourself in the All or nothing mindset."

Yes, I shall commit to the one thing, that is Shopify, and make it works, if I don't have the funds, I'll do Uber or whatever to fund the money it requires so that it works.

"start acting TODAY like the person you want to be tomorrow.. and have some patience and it will come."

The person I aspire to become is the young person that are rich and successful, have the freedom to live the lavish lifestyle as soon as possible and go from there. I really want that Aventador money.

Now I'm typing this is already 4.30AM in the morning, I can't sleep soundly because I felt like I did not take any actions further down to my goals, have anxiety and just keep running circles in this thought and hope that I can gain that "aha" moment.

For currently as seeing all the successful young people all doing Shopify, I'll go and hop on the declining gold rush fever and get my piece of the pie. I also know most of them are "shovel selling" like selling their courses that makes majority or their money. But that is just limiting beliefs of not taking actions myself.

I guess I'll keep continuing throw things at the wall and see which one "responds" to me.

      Thanks for the comment sir.

Be careful about spending too much time planning and researching. I did this way too much in my 20s.

I suggest you go all-in on something you really care about. If you want real success you are going to have to provide a lot of value to a lot of people. The best way to do this is to build your business on what is easy for you to focus upon.

A specific plan is great, but don't get too far ahead of yourself. It's hard to know what opportunities will emerge once you start to find success in something.

    Best of luck!

      Thanks brent for the advice,

Yes, based on the 2 comments from the gentlemen above, I get the idea of "you go all-in on something you really care about."

I also realized that I'm 110% in the mode of "spending too much time planning and researching. I did this way too much in my 20s."

I believe the right framework for success to me should be throwing as many actions to the wall (marketplace) and see whichever actions respond to me the best, and double down on that.

" The best way to do this is to build your business on what is easy for you to focus upon."
I'm not sure what is easy for you to focus upon really means, but I assume that is my strength and circumstances and environment.

Start small and work your way up.

Before you can make millions you need to make six figures.

Before you can make six figures, you need to make a few grand per month.

Before you can make a few grand per month, you need to make $500 to $1,000 per month.

Pick one business model. Immerse yourself in it. Learn everything you can about it and focus on it until successful. In most cases, it's going to take you 3-5 years in ANY business model to get REALLY good at it.

Do not keep switching business models or jumping around. You have to focus. Just my two cents based on my own experience.

Thank you very much chuckholmes for commenting this thread.

I really appreciate it since this is my first thread and first engagement with the members here in the forum.

"Before you can make a few grand per month, you need to make $500 to $1,000 per month."
Yes, set a realistic goal is better than setting a vague goal like I always did but doesn't work like making $50,000/ month or having billions of dollars of net worth but I can't even make a thousand dollars online.

"Pick one business model. Immerse yourself in it. Learn everything you can about it and focus on it until successful. In most cases, it's going to take you 3-5 years in ANY business model to get REALLY good at it."

Based on it, I'll commit to E-Commerce, start with dropshipping first, make it successful. Then upgrade the business model to Amazon FBA which requires substantial capital to start and run. Burn the bridges and ship down with other business model and just focus on this should be the main priority. And make my life around it.

Thank you very much for commenting sir.

so you want to go from being a broke guy to getting a Lamborghini.

yeah it's absolutely doable and you can achieve this result in a year.

the best thing I can recommend you to start an affiliate marketing business.

because you can start this business literally with 0 money.

and it's easily and fastly scalable to $100k per month or even a $1 million per month.

But let me tell you if you are going to do this in a year you will be able to go to $15000 per month.

so how you can actually start.

so first of all you can start with no money and can start using free traffic methods to make your first money.

and after you are going to make some money you can simply invest that money in paid ads and can grow your business.

and you can simply repeat this process you will be able to double your business overnight.

let me know if you have any query I will be more than happy to help you.

My advice would be to not compare yourself with others. We all walk a different path. Besides, don't believe everything you watch on Youtube. Some of these guys just fake it until they made it.

Just give yourself one week to research a couple of online business models. Dropshipping, FBA, SMMA, Affiliate marketing you name it.

Pick one and completely focus on that for a long time, until you've mastered it. Take courses if you have money to invest to speed up the learning process. Watch Youtube videos if you are on a budget.

And like you mentioned, watch out for information overload. The best thing to solve that is by just starting out. Just do it and learn from your mistakes, but at least you are every day one step closer to your goal.

If you have no money I recommend starting with affiliate marketing. Once you got the hang of it, you can make really good money. But it is important to look at the long term. That's you're able to build a sustainable business.

To be honest, I don't think you will be successful anytime soon.
Not because you are not smart or lazy. I am sure you are smart and motivated.

You see, in my opinion, you are just too young and your expectations are too high.
Don't get me wrong, it's good to dream about fancy cars, houses and so on, and it's good to follow your dreams, but do not expect to make it fast, like in few months or few years.

What will happen if you expect to make thousands of dollars in few months or in a year and you won't reach such stage? What will happen if after a year you unable to buy a fancy car and you are struggling?
This scenario would kill you, you would stop believing in yourself and stop dreaming about a bright future. This happened to me and for many people too. Too high expectations in short period of time could lead you to give up on your dreams.

You need to keep failing in order to reach success. And I think to create a successful online business you need to pass very tough and difficult road of failures, you need to spend at least 5 years of failures or very tough moments in your life, you need to feel that nothing is working, that it's impossible to make a living online, you need to experience hard moments when you cry and don't know what to do next, you need to experience how it feels when you have like few $ in your pocket, you need to be completely broke. AND if you survive and still believe that you can reach your dreams, keep going, keep failing and keep taking action till one day you reach success.

When I was young, I really believed that it's so easy to make money online, I thought that to create a business is easy and fast and i will be a millionaire in no time, now I understand how stupid I was. But it's a learning process and everybody needs to experience such path before realizing the right path for success.

Sure you can reach success very fast, but I am not sure if it would be healthy for your future and how you will deal with issues in your business.

    Good luck!

Hey bro! anything can happen nowadays with the power of internet! i see someone got a lamborghini in under 2 years! but that is all the thing that you will have if you buy lambo straight after making your first million. that is if you want to go from broke to buying a lamborghini, but if you want to go from broke to rich or multimillionaire then you need to start buying assets that can generate you multiple streams of income.

Average millionaire has 7 different streams of income

Instead of thinking in a Lambo as your target, maybe its better to switch to lower achievable goals, milestones... one at a time... in the end you will get your Lambo if you succeed.

Secondly FOCUS, i mean dont try to do everything out. If you want to go into Fiverr go ahead dominate the platform and make a decent $$$, but dont try to attack a bunch of different things (ex. Fiverr, amazon FBA, etc, etc...) that path will lead to fail miserably.

First dominate 1 thing, then and only then move to another revenue stream and so on...

Since you talk about Fiverr, I did succeed on Fiverr a few years ago and i took probably 1 year to understand the platform and how to crush it.

I got around $50k from Fiverr what was great for me for the time being but i would not be a millionaire

you should enjoy each victory you have, even if does not lead you to your Lamborghini.
