Affiliate and/or freelance marketing.

I became interested via all the ad pop-ups saying "Make Money Online". But found most all to be a scam. Offering free video training until the end of the video then they beg for money. I understand, every one needs to make money. However, I'm looking for ways to make money, not spend what little I have. I'm on a fixed income. At that, free is the best price. So I decided, it can't be that hard to teach myself. But honestly, this business is one I know very little about. I see many companies do offer a affiliate marketing program. So I've built a website. Hopefully to use as a channel to promote their products. Where do I go from here though?

Affiliate marketing takes too much time to grow & earn money online as compared to freelance. If you go parallelly with both it will be a better option of making money online.

As I said, I'm totally new to this business concept. What is the difference between affiliate and freelance marketing? Have you or any one else, used Clickbetter to promote products?

I don't know what "freelance marketing" is. Sounds like to me it means you would provide marketing services to other people and companies as a freelancer. If that's the case. that would not be an available route for you as a newbie.

My guess is that these popup advertisers are renaming "affiliate marketing" to "freelance marketing" in an attempt to break into a market that is very saturated (affiliate marketing Get Rich Quick Info product/courses). People see "affiliate marketing" all the time and have become callous. Now they see "freelance marketing" and say HEY WHAT"S THAT, and click on the ad. But it's the same old stuff.

Anyway, as far as affiliate marketing is concerned, like others have said, the "easiest" way is to start a blog and write articles about different products/services in a tight niche that you are passionate about. You won't last if you try to promote things you aren't passionate about. Very hard to do for a newb. Your lack of passion will show in your writing and you will not provide value to your visitors, which means they likely won't be clicking on your affiliate links.

I say "easiest" because it really isn't easy money, but it's doable. You have a lot of things you'll need to work on, not just writing articles. Mainly, you will have to work hard on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and other ways to drive TARGETED traffic to your site.

No traffic = no affiliate sales = no food on the table.

But you also have to learn to write your articles so that they not only provide value, but also make people want to click on your affiliate links and buy the product being promoted, otherwise it will be all for nothing.

No one can really tell you how to do all this in a forum thread, obviously. You really have to research and learn about everything on-the-fly.

But your first step is to figure out what niche you want to promote, and get that blog up and running with a good 10 articles. You don't even have to have your affiliate links in the blog yet, just get the blog up and running with content. You have to take it in steps as you learn the ropes.

There's a lot to learn and it can be overwhelming, so don't scoff at having to pay for useful information because it will get you going faster and more on the right path. If you don't have money right now, save it up.

I don't know of any good, updated sources for affiliate marketing know-how these days, but Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook used to be the go-to guide for affiliate marketing back in the day. I have no idea if it is relevant enough for affiliate marketing today, though. But one thing is for sure, you will learn something from it. But don't go buying everything she promotes in the book, of course. She's a marketer so she's bound to try to entice you to buy things you don't need or don't need right now lol.

But before you buy her ebook, see if others can recommend a more up-to-date source.

          Good post Mr. Sutton

Amazon paperback is dated February 20, 2005, so if it was not updated then it is most likely not relevant today. She does have blog articles dated 2019 though.

Back in the day 2005, keyword stuffing, backlink building and more like it worked for the most part on affiliate blogs. These days those practices are the no-no of affiliate blogging.

The major thing about affiliate blogging today is traffic, specifically paid traffic or free search engine traffic. Paid traffic to an affiliate blog relies more on the source of the traffic and ad optimization. Free search engine traffic for affiliate blogging relies more on basic "Website SEO" that covers he website (blog) as a whole to include on-page SEO. Both require a a conversion tool.

A recommended source? Your posts on this forum of course!

Affiliate marketing is easiest way to start making money. I don't say it's easy to make money, but its simple. You don't need to have your own product, you dont need to have sales funnel and other stuff.

You can grab a product which have affiliate program, promote it and get commissions if sale is made.
There are a lot of free traffic sources, such as forum posting, social media such as youtube, instagram, facebook, you can try reddit platform.

You said you already have website, so use it, create a blog, post articles, you will get organic traffic.
In your website you can post links to your affiliate offers.

I am sure other warriors can help you much more and in more details, buddy

    Good luck !

And remember, everything is possible, just don't stop.

Hello, what you said is totally right, but... I actually started cpa marketing a few weeks ago and trying to promote using free traffic (like to be sure I can make money through it, before I invest). I could not make a dime since now. I don't understand why, meanwhile I have studied much about the cpa marketing before going into it. Does my location has anything to do with my failure? Or my marketing strategy is not right? I promote using instagram only, and I create landing pages which later on redirect to the offer page.

Thanks for your reply Eva. First, since everything is done online. Don't see how location might me a issue for you. The best marketing strategy I know of is finding the right channel to advertise and bring in traffic. I don't plan to use any social media myself. But, as I said, I'm a new-be/wanna-be. Still learning with a long way to go and a short time to get there! I was just now approved by three different companies to become an affiliate marketer with them. My largest problem is, I'm not very computer savvy. Don't even know how to add these companies to my website yet. Would you be able to assist me?

What do you mean by "finding the right channel?"

Anyways, At MAXBounty for example, there is an offer feed where you select the one you will like to promote. From there you just select the traffic source, you get the link based on what you selected (raw link, banner, text link, etc). All that is left is for you to drive traffic to the link based on the traffic source you selected. That's all I think.
          Hope it helped.

Never heard of MaxBounty. Thank you for the info. I will review what they offer. I own a sister company where I currently use Bing Ads to direct traffic to my company website. That's what I mean about finding the right channel.

I ended up having good joint ventures via systematic safelist mailing. Some affiliate offers convert like clockwork, I believe you need to be perfectly aligned with what you promote. You'll stumble on the cream of the crop with safelists and even find high converting vendors to endorse (and get paid).

  • Affiliate marketing is a good way to start. Just choose a niche that you are passionate about, create some content around it and post the related affiliate links on your website to get started. Of course, you need to be patient if you have no budget to use paid traffic.

IMO Affiliate marketing is the way to go, especially if you're a beginner and haven't made a dime online.

It's the easiest, simplest way to start making money. But even though it's the easiest, it doesn't mean it easy as pie and you will get success overnight.

However, if you're determined to succeed, you will find the success you're looking for, you just need PATIENCE with affiliate marketing.

Hit me up if you're looking for some advice, don't worry I won't try to sell you anything. I don't even have anything to sell lol.

Thank you sir for your reply. I am using Rakuten Affiliate Marketing currently. Thus far they have connected me with five different affiliate programs/companies. Currently I am attempting to add said to my website. Problem is, I can't say I know how this is done. I am determined as you said. And will soon be up and running. I will likely still need advice. Thank you for being to help.

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people's (or company's) products. You find a product you like, promote it to others and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.
If you want passive income then this the best way!

And what about CPA? IMO it is far better since you do not necessarily have to make a sale.

If you are going to invest in something, then I suggest you invest in learning and yourself at the moment. Youtube and forums is a good place to start. There are also collaboration platforms you can check out that accepts product and service exchange. Check out phlanx, see if that helps.

When you say freelance marketing, do you mean freelancing? If so, it definitely is the best to go about making money online, and it hardly costs you anything to get started.

Once you make a couple hundred dollars from freelancing, you can reinvest it in other business models that require you proper training (which entails buying courses) and needs prior investment (website, advertising etc).

Make a list of your skills. Anything from writing, designing to programming could make you some extra cash, and if done properly, a steady part/full-time income. Then, start looking for clients. They are everywhere.

You can go with third party websites like FIverr or Upwork, or directly contact people you think might benefit from what you offer. Hustle, and hustle hard. Get your first client, and build it up from there.

    Good luck!
