Something like Google Alerts, only better

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a tool that will keep an eye out for news about certain topics based on keywords - kind of like Google Alerts, only better?

I set up a few alerts on certain topics with Google Alerts but they are far from being ideal - they miss many pieces of news directly related to the topic and their hits are sporadic and often irrelevant.

Is there a secret tool used by bloggers/journalists to do this?

    You can check out Mention, Meltwater and TalkWalker Alerts. These are both free and paid for programs.

    If memory serves me right, I believe follow.net does something similar but it's been a while

    Im for Awario - it has a wide range of social media monitoring tools, including mention alert creation, sentiment analysis, competitor comarison and so on.
    And they have a trial period no card needed then
